History
Established in 2023.
Apex Precision Sharpening was founded in 2023 with a simple goal: to raise the standard of knife sharpening beyond quick grinds and disposable edges.
After years of working with high-use blades—from home kitchens to BBQ and meat-processing environments—it became clear that most knives weren’t failing due to poor steel, but poor sharpening. Apex Precision Sharpening was created to bring professional edge geometry, consistency, and education directly to customers.
What sets Apex apart is a focus on precision techniques such as hollow grinding, a method traditionally reserved for butcher shops and professional kitchens. This approach produces sharper, longer-lasting edges while preserving blade life—something most walk-up sharpening services don’t offer
Every blade is treated individually, with attention to steel type, use case, and edge longevity—because sharp should mean reliable, repeatable, and precise.
Meet the Business Owner: Alberto R.
Hi, I’m Alberto, the owner and operator of Apex Precision Sharpening.
I started Apex because I’ve always believed a knife should perform the way it was designed to. After working with all kinds of blades and seeing how often good knives were ruined by rushed or improper sharpening, I decided to do things differently.
I focus on precision sharpening techniques, including hollow grinding, that are typically reserved for professional kitchens and butcher shops. Every knife I work on is evaluated individually based on how it’s used, the type of steel, and what kind of edge will actually last.
What I enjoy most is helping people understand their knives better and seeing their reaction when they feel the difference a properly sharpened blade makes. Whether it’s a home cook, a BBQ enthusiast, or someone who relies on their knives every day, I treat every blade with the same care and attention.
Apex Precision Sharpening is about doing the job right.
