Update, i had to knock my review down 2 stars. Mike is still great! He owns the shop now, but…read morestill only works on A/C. He has some other guys who i think are renting space from him, doing other car work. I was very unhappy when I had my car towed there for the starter to get fixed. They replaced it, but then when I went to pick it up it wouldn't start. they looked at me like I was dumb. Sure enough, something else was wrong. it took them 2 hours to diagnose a bad relay, and yes, they charged me for the labor. not happy. i'll only be coming here for a/c work, not for other car things. Mike is a one-man show at Clear Lake Auto Air. He rents space in the transmission shop, his office is in the back. Just ask any of the mechanics for Mike the A/C guy and they'll point you in the right direction. Mike is a good, ol' fashioned, honest mechanic. ALL he does is car heating and cooling. He will recharge your freon for less than 40 bucks, and won't put you through all of the hassle of the leak check and bla bla bla. Within 6 months of moving to Houston, the A/C had gone out on both of my cars. My poor northern babies couldn't handle the southern heat. Mike replaced both of my systems and gave me honest quotes and great insight into how to keep my A/C from crashing again. Every once in a while I stop by when something is on the fritz with my a/c...most recently, a leaf in my blower, and he will help me out...for FREE! this guy is awesome. highly recommended.

We pulled my truck in the garage put the gauges on it and tried to put Freon in it. After 30 min of troubleshooting Mike told me his observations and he came to the conclusion that it was something he want to tackle, but sent me somewhere that might be able to help. Mike it didn't fix my problem and he didn't charge me a dime either. Most importantly he gave me his honest advice told me what to look for and what he would recommend having replaced. Mike currently owns the transmission shop. He says he has a great transmission builder and the shop is nice and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my or anyone else's vehicle there for work. HONESTY!

I brought my 2009 Honda Civic in on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 because my air conditioner was not…read morefunctioning properly. I was greeted by Gary Roos, the manager, who told me they would check out my car for the standard $29.95 AC check fee and let me know what the problem(s) was/were. He even got a person to bring me back to my house and road test the car. Later that afternoon I was contacted and much to my surprise, I was told by Gary that all I needed as a new AC relay fuse, and that I could pick it up myself at the auto store. I did so and when I arrived back at the store, Gary gave the switch to the technician, who installed it. I asked Gary what the charge was, and he told me that it was NO charge at all, since all they had to do was to install the switch that I had purchased it was pointless to charge me for that. After that service I can easily say that this Aamco is a place that I will have no issues bringing my car back for service in the future.

I left a bad review on Google because they didn't have the right fluid. I'm leaving a bad review on…read moreYelp because they lied in their Google response. I came to this AAMCO for a transmission drain and refill. The car dealer only wants to do a high-pressure flush which is not what I want. My vehicle requires a very specific transmission fluid, so before any work started I asked to see the fluid they planned to use. That turned out to be a very smart decision. After some hesitation, the technician finally showed me the fluid, and it was not the correct specification for my vehicle. I then asked whether I could provide the correct fluid myself, and I was told they would only use the fluid they had in stock. Because of that, there was no work done on the car. That alone would have been enough for a poor review. What made it worse was the owner's public response to my Google review. Instead of acknowledging that the shop did not have the correct fluid for my car, the response falsely claimed my transmission had internal problems and suggested that was why the service was not done. That is not true. I was never given any diagnosis of an internal transmission problem. The issue was simple: they did not have the correct fluid and would not allow me to provide it. I've contacted their corporate customer service as well and I await a response. If you are bringing a vehicle here for transmission service, verify exactly what fluid they intend to use before they touch your car. Based on my experience, I would not trust this shop with any transmission service.

his is the last place you should go to for a transmission!! ive been here four times in 2 years…read more they specify their warranty cause you're gonna need it. i got a rebuilt transmission in 2023 with a yr warranty i was back on the warranty a week later. low transmission fluid-and the manager blamed me for it. so its my fault after i paid 3600 in service and yall didnt put enough transmission fluid in my car? mind you my car sat up there a week just to tell me it had low fluid so they do a crappy job on your transmission give u a warranty that youre gonna have to back on and since its under warranty and their not getting paid looking at your car is the last thing on their mind..the last thing they care about is inconveniencing their customers! that should be their model. now 18 months later i go back they quote me one price then charged me another that was in dec25 i got a 6 month warranty its april of 26 second time getting service second time going back on the warranty. i dropped my car off last tuesday the april 14th they still havent took a look at my car and its april 23 after telling me they would start on wednesday the 22 which was my birthday just for me to call today cause i havent heard anything just for them to tell me my car wont be ready til the 28 so cause im under warranty and they do a crappy job my car gets to just sit on their lot for 2 weeks but mind u if u have to pay ur car will be ready in 48 to 72 hours but not if you come back cause of their mistake! they have no integrity, no morality, no customer care or considerstion..unless they offer you a lifetime warranty just go to firestone or ntb! aplus prices are the same as theirs with half their expertise and customer service and customer care. this place is like a doctor office..go there once and they will make sure u come for life they have several locations they offer free towing free check this free check that its not really free! dont fall for their offer of convience cause that small offer of convience will turn into alot more inconvience. 4 times in 2 years back on both warranties and car just sat on lot like it didnt belong there first time a whole week just for them to say i needed transmission fluid and this second time for more than 2 weeks i dont know when they're going to look at it or fix it and this is supposed to be a reputable place if youre a trump supporter you deserve this kinda treatment!! dont walk ruuuuuun to the nearest bbb lets help them get better customer service and customer care for the amount of money a consumer is spending for them to use cheap parts rig up modules and short u on transmission fluid when i talked to them on this visit the first thing he asked me was about transmission fluid mind this was a whole different set of employees from oct 23. so i dont know if they used the transmission fluid as a tactic to trick their customers or if their transmission fluid is contaminated but both visit i have been asked about the transmission fluid with this time it being more than low somehow 4 months after getting my transmission done they now say the fluid is contaminated and the only way to reach my transmission fluid is via a j connect tool under my car i couldnt check the fluid level of i wanted to so they are possibly using used transmission fluid or ur rebuilt transmission or torque converter!!
