At 7 pm on a Friday night, they were out of just about everything on the menu. Even bottled waters!
While that was kind of annoying, the food itself was fantastic. We over ordered food for a large group. However, we were happy we were able to try so many things on the menu that way and had leftovers.
We got everything from the sizzling balut (served only with the yolk and the hard white part minus the chick) to the fried hito (which was yummy with a side of shrimp paste & vinegar) to the crispy pata (a generous serving of perfectly seasoned and tenderized pork hock deep fried until the skin is crispy) and much more. The food came in portions clearly meant for sharing. It was all piping hot and seasoned well.
Beyond that, the restaurant had a cute traditional Filipino food theme. I appreciated the menu that came in giant laminated banana leaf. I even liked the hand washing station kind of randomly in the middle of the restaurant. It's probably best for groups, but not for intimate dinners.
Overall, the food was great but I wish the restaurant was better prepared to receive customers on a busy night. We picked this place for the asado, the crickets and the sisig and they were out of all. It felt like half their menu was unavailable. read more
