Worst place ever to do business with. Don't give out the right information to pick up my sons car, we told them our son doesn't get off work until 5, would have been nice to know they have after hours pick up. Then show up next day with the power of attorney to pick up car, extremely rude girl says not enough info we can't pick up car, had more info then what she said on phone previous day, then when my pregnant wife got upset I was trying to calm her down in the car, I had my door open & some want to be tough guy comes flying out of the office yelling & telling me he will never let me have the car now. After he accosted me I jump out of my car told him to not ever get in my face & I guarantee him I WILL get my sons car. He ran back inside by the way, so I decided I would sit in his parking lot until I had to leave to pick up my other son from school, thinking someone would come out to do right or the police to show up, about one hour. I tried calling their office to talk with a supervisor same want to be tough guy on phone & being a disrespectful piece of you no what. Not one other person came out of the office to talk with me. I noticed on their front window they have a after hour phone number, huh missing a digit, their night pickup is in a different location on their property. If you pull up to their night pickup area not one sign as a matter of fact and window has the curtain drawn so you would never know. Guess come back tomorrow and pay another days storage to them. Here's the thing I refuse to let go, my sons car has a dash mount camera that turns on when key is on, funny the driver that drove the car off his truck tells his buddy there is a camera in this car. Guess what it recorded, the driver revving the car at least fifteen times to the limit, while talking to his buddy about the case involving my son and the police department. Why a tow truck driver would be informed about a police matter is a entire different matter I don't understand. The next day it records them driving the car around their yard, leave key on & drained the battery, so they need to jump the car and while doing so they hit the front of the car chipping the paint on the grill with the jumper cable. All on video too. Now car is in shop because low to no compression in two cylinders now engine with less then 100,000 miles on it needs to be rebuilt. I know extortion is a strong word so I will use, thieving, dishonest, disrespectful to people and to people's property, not forthcoming with proper information on the phone and on their window, I'm guessing so another days storage can be charged to you. Whatever you want to call it they don't deserve to represent the city of mesa or AAA insurance. As Donald Trump would say, lawsuit coming, if they don't do right by my sons damaged engine. Do NOT ever do business with these people. Just so you know, if God forbid you are ever in a car accident & the police department calls for a tow, remember you have a right to call your own towing company and I would advise you to have the police call anyone else then Apache sands towing. Alan with the driver for Apache sands towing that picked me up this afternoon when My truck had another flat..two flats in one day ! Thank God 20016 is almost over! It was a real hard year .. Alan was polite courteous , he wanted to do everything for me so I wasn't under any type of stress... he was enjoyable to talk to ..professional .. and most impressive he shifted the gears better than any truck driver I've ever Seen! I'm at old truck driver myself , & he was much better than me!! He made it easy for me to explain why I was so stressed out and worried .. my mom needs me she can't be alone right now I said , I was rushing back to her house to help her, is she was very frail & in much pain Still grieving over her last love .. Alan listened patiently & offered to pray for my mom ..! had my service dog , Max with me too.. (Max was so sad and scared , ) for the 2nd time today... Max was in the pick up & as the Engine revved , pulling its chains tightly against the gravity of weight , you could see Max looking out the window, so perplexed and miserable staring at me , waving ..he thought ..goodbye? At that time Alan smiled understanding our special bond... he took the time to introduce himself to Max... wow, I thought .. he is so great at what he does!! & both Max and I certainly appreciated his kindness and understanding towards us ! Horrible customer service. Rude and uncompassionate. I got in a severe car accident with my 11 year old son, no other vehicles involved. My son suffered internal damage and was in the intensive care unit and I am pregnant. I came in with my father asking some simple question and to get some of my belongings once I was discharged while my son was still in ICU. The man at the front was cold and wouldn't let my father come back to help me with lifting some of the heavy camping gear I had in the back of my car. Even after explain my pregnancy and dire situation the man was refused to let him help me. I've have a child in the ICU, have been in a severe car accident, could've lost my baby, and have lost enough in the last 4 days. I was just looking for a little help and I didn't get a simple smile upon walking in the door. I got short answers to questions asked, rude looks, no compassion towards my situation, and a lot more stress than I already had. Update: Incorrect. I called regarding having help removing the heavier items in my car, because I'm pregnant. Not to have someone else remove them for me. Your staff was rude and made my experience terrible. Not even a simple smile upon walking in. Barely even any eye contact. They made me feel like I wasn't even a person and I was inconveniencing their day. Unbelievably bad customer service! My wife was in a car accident on Saturday and the County officials towed our car to apache sands. I arrived on Tuesday morning when they opened, 8am, and the door was locked. I knocked and a young girl of about 20 with blond hair comes to the door, unlocks it, and then walks away. I see all this because the door is made of glass. Unbelievable. I walk in and begin to say why I am there and she barks at me that i need a copy of my Registration and a photo ID. There was some obese man sitting behind her at a desk with a confused look on his face. He didn't move at all. I had the documentation the Police gave me at the scene of the accident and she barks at me again that I need a copy of the registration and a photo ID. I was never able to completed a single sentence. I have worked in Custmer Service for years and this is the first time I have ever been treated like a criminal before ever walking through the door. These people HATE their customers. The only reason they get so much business is because they are contracted through Maricopa County. If they didn't have that, I doubt they could stay in business. Their front desk people are failures in their job. The managment is a failure in their job for allowing their people to hate their customers. DO NOT GO HERE. EVER. read more

Worst tow experience/auto shop i have ever been to. Got towed here because they are somehow triple a approved. I tipped the tow driver $5 cash unsolicited for towing me for maybe 6 minutes. maybe. Got a quote that they were gonna charge me $97 to look at the car and tell me what i already knew was wrong with it. told them i was gonna take it else where and asked the tow driver to drop it in the parking lot so i could just have a friend tow it home. at this point tow driver told me to pay him $5/mile since i wasn't having work done, when we had previously agreed it was a free tow b/c of triple a. i called him on his b.s and went to the office. they told me it should be free with him standing right next to me. told him to give me my tip back since he tried to scam me and he tried to throw it down on the pavement. as i was leaving, another of their customers approached me and told me i was making the right choice leaving. said he had been ripped off and their staff were a bunch of con-artists. im a 24 year old guy that thankfully has auto-mechanic friends and can stand up to 300+ lb tow drivers. if you dont want to get conned out of cash or bullied by meth head fat asses avoid this place. literally the worst auto shop/tow experience ive ever had. will contact triple a to get these guys off their list. read more

ORIGINAL REVIEW 8/19/2021 Very displeased. Had my vehicle towed from home to a dealership, because it didn't run. Dealer noted wheel damage upon receipt of vehicle, but there was none when it was loaded. I had to call Apache Sands for 3 days before getting a manager to call me back. They came out to assess the damage, and the guy (Mathew) was immediately rude and dismissive. Claimed it was curb rash and impossible for their truck to cause the damage. Vehicle doesn't even run. He interrupted me mid conversation to say I "had no proof and the claim was denied." He then robotically turned away, got in his truck and left while ignoring me. A warning to anyone who uses any towing company, take photos before the tow and be there to take photos where it's dropped off. Otherwise you will be treated this way when you try to just talk to them about it. UPDATE 8/27/2021 Even though the business owner responded to this review and I emailed them as requested, I have had no further communication from them. I really wish I could remember the name of the tech who came to my daughter's and my assistance on Wednesday. He was the most pleasant person to deal with. Sometimes I feel too helpless and girly when I have to call for a tire change since I know how to do it myself (Dad taught me before I could move out many years ago). When it's over 105 out, it's so much easier to call someone else, especially when you have roadside service. I did not choose Apache, Geico Roadside Service did, but I will remember the name when I need help again. I think that if this was my job, I would be cranky and just difficult to deal with, but this man was so very friendly and helpful and put us at ease right away. He arrived exactly when they said he would and changed our tire with a friendly smile while making conversation. He is a happy person, and that really transfers to customers during a cranky time. Thomas was my "angel" that has been towing for AAA for appx 19 years! He is a knowledgeable kind gentleman that is totally aware and present in each moment to be helpful ,caring and friendly! He constantly shows up choosing to go beyond what is required with his generosity of spirit!! Thank you Thomas! The tow truck met me at my car (I usually call an hour early because it takes forever everywhere else) within 10 minutes of me calling. When I arrived, he took my key and told me not to worry about it, he will take care of it and then told me to go on my way - he left a note for the mechanic. Then - 8:01AM the day they opened after a holiday, I have a call from the manager about my car saying there's a note there. I explained what happened, Tom proceeded to call me a few more times to update me on what was going on, even made sure I got discounts with my AAA by letting me know if I have my member #, I could. All-in-all, finished my car sooner than I thought and was professional through the whole thing. read more

Was stuck in a parking lot with a car that wouldn't start! The card dealership gave me a phone # for a towing service so I called them for assistance. I wasn't aware it was Apache Sands until they answered the phone and was pleasantly surprised because I've used them before and each time the experience has been excellent. The drivers are so pleasant and helpful that you can almost forget how frustrated you were when you found your car wouldn't start! This time, the driver managed to get my car started so I could drive to the dealership and not have to pay the full price for a tow. I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the service I received today through my AAA call regarding a dead battery! Coupled with the AAA continuous text of an ETA - I was greeted by a very professional Kevin who swiftly took control and diagnosed AND offered to replace the battery at WAY under what we would normally pay at our local service shop! In record time he was on his way and on was on with my day! THIS. IS. AMAZING. I had a dead battery, called AAA/ Apache Sands, within a few minutes a service guy named Kalub showed up, tested the battery, gave me a print out of the results and I was able to have my battery replaced 15 minutes later, for free! Apache Sands has been the company to take care of many of my service calls, I can always depend on them to take care of my vehicle emergencies. Such a pleasant experience from start to finish. It is my birthday and my car wouldn't start. My son and I were stuck outside in 110 degree heat. I called AAA and the phone operator was kind and helpful. She quoted roadside assistance to take about an hour to arrive and signed me up for the automated text updates. Mario made it to my location in less than 20 and was able to not only restart my car for me, but explain different systems in my car and give me advice on maintenance and repairs.
