This place was very pretty, I have to say. The decor is great and I like that it's right in the mall. I love sushi and wanted some while shopping, so that's a plus. I was greeted right away and the host was very nice. He even walked me to the bathroom to show me where it was. I was seated outside the restaurant on the "patio" since I was alone. I ordered the Fire Dragon Roll and the Big Wave Roll. The Fire Dragon was good, just average and the Big Wave was actually very unique and delicious. It has coconut shrimp, mango salsa and coconut on top. The only reason they are getting four stars instead of five is the service was kind of slow. The place was pretty empty though, so don't know why. Maybe because I was outside and alone so I ate quicker than a larger table would. Not that my server wasn't very nice because she was. So pretty good place, I'm glad it's there. Have the Big Wave Roll! read more

My favorite sushi place in the western part of Miami. Great rolls and amazing chicken fried rice! I highly recommend the deluxe spicy tuna roll and the red dragon roll. Service has really improved from when I started going there. Very nice place to stop for lunch while shopping. Bathroom needs to be cleaned up a bit. read more

I have been to AOki many times, today I had a reservation at 6pm to celebrate my daughters graduation. A group of 11 was with me to watch the chef and enjoy our night, but all this was ruined by the terrible service that was given... We waited after getting our drinks for a total of 1.5hrs without a single person passing by to tell us something. At that point I think we waited enough and got up and left. The must unfortunate part is that my daughter was very disappointed because she loves this place. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE OUT OF PRIDE!!! I wouldn't let no one treat my family in this matter. read more

As dadeland continues to expand, this new restaurant came with tons of hype. As a big fan of Asian cuisine I was looking forward to the opening of this place. Decor was very modern and unique. Service and seating was very fast. Menu was printed on a paper and very limited compared to the other popular hibachi style restaurant located a few miles south. The food was ok, ordered the oysters for an appetizer, only came with three per order, if your a big eater, you definitely won't want to share. However it tasted very fresh and had three different sauces to top. No soup, but had a salad included with your entree, which was mixed and prepared live but was a pretty average house salad. The hibachi chef came out and the show was pleasant, very pleased, would be great for the kids. Ordered the seafood trio (lobster, shrimp, scallops), again very fresh. The "inaka fried rice" included five different types of rice and noodle. Didn't taste bad, but didn't taste great either. The shrimp sauce (pink sauce) really helped the flavor. Hibachi vegetables included with your meal as well. Limited dessert menu also. Overall, I gave it three stars because I felt they lacked a little on their fried rice, and their limited menu. I think it's a great alternative to the always crowded Samurai and their was practically no wait to be seated and the service began promptly. Bought the Aoki staff shirt for 6 bucks, which was pretty awesome I might add. New restaurant still, so I'll give them some time to work out the kinks and I'll try again in a few months. read more

Aoki Teppanyaki - Lobster, shrimp, scallops, veggies - Sushi Bars Near Me - Miami, Florida

How does this place only have 3.5 stars?! It's amazing! After my third or fourth awful experience at Samurai, I was led to Aoki and I'm so happy I was. The restaurant itself is way nicer with very cool decor and a nice outside deck, the food is 1000 times better than Samurai- fresher, healthier, was more delicious- also seems to be less expensive so this is an obvious win. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly, making it an overall very positive experience and one that blows Samurai out of the water. Their ginger salad and soup are both amazing and all Teppanyaki items that I've had are delicious - I've had the steak, chicken and salmon on different occasion. Definitely recommend this place, I'll always choose it over Samurai and Benihana. read more

My first and last time at Aoki. The hostess sat us down at a table full of kids and we were cramped in the corner. We told the hostess we were cramped and she just walked away and blew us off. I should have just gotten up and walked out but since I was with my wife I had to be Mr. Nice Guy and suck it up. I ordered a beer on the happy hour menu to start off. The beer was the size of a little kids thermos. The beer was also room temperature, I felt like I ordered a beer in Europe somewhere. The food was good. Nothing special. I ordered a side of noodles. What I got tasted like a side of salt. The chicken and fried rice was good. Benihana and Samurai are the spots to go...save your money and avoid Aoki. read more

I am a regular here at Aoki Teppanyaki. The service, food and prices are excellent. Due to the fact that I live close by I regularly come here for happy hour (4-7), and lunch (open-4). If you like friendly bartenders, delicious food and good music this is the place to visit. The tuna poke and tataki are well worth a try as they only use fresh ingredients and in house made sauces. Like snacking on appetizers while you sip on cheap drinks? The eggplant chips, crispy pork ears, and edamame are perfect bite sized snacks to go with your happy hour drink. When ordering on the happy hour you cannot hear the prices on beer and drinks. My goto is amber rock or the berry nice. You know what you're getting with both and the bar is stocked in house made ingredients. If you enjoy tuna and rice the "Donburi rice Bowl" is definitely a goto. With the fresh ingredients and the quick service this will always be a goto if you don't make the happy hour or lunch hours. Don't miss out on this opportunity. If you enjoy eating hibachi made meals, the lunch special is a great deal. Like Samauri/Benihana...? this is a great comparative with affordable prices and no wait. Convenience and premium service is a wonderful commodity, if you find value in this make Aoki you next night out! "Verified customer" Naeem Bacchus read more

Hadn't been here in awhile. It was my nephew birthday and he wanted to have lunch so we went to celebrate here. We were a big group took up 2 tables. I must say it was all very good. The food and the service. We went during the week for lunch and the lunch prices are super cheap and the portions are still large. We had a great time with good food and everyone enjoyed it. So after this visit we went again on a Saturday. Everything was just as good. read more

Service was ok. The servers did not really have smiles on their faces, and a few mistakes were made on our orders. We went during lunch hour and it was not crowded. We were able to sit right away. read more

During covid they force you to share the teppanyaki table, it doesn't matter that they have a lot of tables available. They don't have the education to let you know when you make a reservation or waiting for the table to aware you about this policy, as the manager explained, there is the regular process, they don't offer another table so I had to get up and leave the place for the security of my family. read more

Came here for Happy hour and was wondering why when I ordered the Philadelphia Roll they skimped and were very stingy with the Salmon. I asked why and was told because its happy hour. Mind you I have been to Doraku in Mary Brickell under same ownership and i have never had such a pathetic amount of Salmon. A Philly Roll is Salmon, Avocado, cucumber and usually cream cheese. I asked if it were possible to give me 2 less rolls and the proper portion of salmon and I was told "we don't do that". I don't order a Philly Roll for the white rice and small amount of cucumber and avocado. The point I am trying to emphasize is the Protein, which was absolutely a pathetic portion in which I received which forced me to order 2 and then the Salmon and tuna poke because I would of had an unbalanced caloric intake High in Carbohydrates and Fat! Sorry I am ordering the roll for the salmon. If this restaurant is going to be so frugal with their main ingredients then you don't deserve my nor anyone else's business. Don't let them rip you off!!! Be warned!!!! This place is Empty for a reason. Do not come here for their stingy happy hour. Goodbye Aoki forever! You cant expect repeat business with improper customer service and stingy portions. Just like Doraku in mary brickell, your happy hour has gone to shit. Thank the retards who think they were being smart ripping off customers. I will not be a victim of this, and nor should anyone else. I foresee this place going out of business soon. Mark my words! Rip off loyal customers and go out of business. read more

Just finished dinner at this place. The ABSOLUTE WORST Service We have ever had! We were given no time to drink our drinks. All the food was brought at once. Had 5 minutes for the salad then received the appetizer and main course at the same time. The waiter did not bring any of the sauces to the table and when asked he just...never came back...literally never came back!!! We had to ask one of the bar tenders for what we needed (Allen) who was the only one who helped us. I told him to take my entre back as I knew it would be cold by the time I could eat it. Allen informed us that the manager (Laquish) had been informed of the situation....never saw him either...shame on you Laquish. We have NEVER LEFT $0 tip at any restaurant, except this one ...will never go back. read more

Took my family here as they were visiting from Spain. Couldn't have had a better experience. The waitstaff was friendly and patient and instead of nodding at my dad's jokes they actually played along with them. We were group of four, three of which had never properly had Asian food, same three couldn't speak English. The menu options were explained carefully and everyone got something they liked. It's basically set up like samurai or Beni Hana where they prepare the food in front of you and they make a show out of it. Food was pretty good, we all ate enough to be full and my cousin took her food home. I had the chicken teriyaki, my dad had the New York strip, my cousin got yakisoba and my aunt got the fillet mignon. We all tried each other's food and I can vouch for those four plates being great. It's a nice spot to take the family, for the four of us the bill came out to just over 100$ which isn't crazy for a three course meal. Overall really happy and will come back read more

TL;DR: Food is awesome, happy hour is a great value, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is close to the best we have experienced. We always find excuses to come here with our friends & family. My family and I are regulars when it comes to Aoki. Prior to discovering Aoki, we would be found at Samurai Restaurant near the Falls. We nearly immediately switched over considering there is little to no wait to get a table, the food leverages much healthier ingredients, and the staff is incredible with service. Even the management staff gets engaged with customers ensuring quality, which for my family is a big bonus - we want to feel taken care of since we end up being really loyal. Not to mention the food is awesome. We've tried most of the menu and so far everything is delicious, however, our favorite is typically the Steak & Shrimp combination with the Pink Sauce they offer. Just excellent. Happy hour is the best time to head over, you can get $4 draft Sapporo's which has become our standard start drink (at least for me, my wife goes for the White Wines). If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, with great food and drinks, as well as a show to entertain - this is the place. read more

I waited literally an hour for a simple tuna roll. The guy next to us at the hibachi table was a complete asshole and was treated like a prince while I was still waiting for my roll. I completely understand the situation but i didn't get my food until one hour and a half later ! I mean wouldn't you be pissed ??? I gave this place another chance but this time it was the drinks that took 45mins ! I literally paid for my drink & left! No more chances ! read more

Loved the setting of this restaurant. I felt like I was in a Karate movie it even had two old motorcycles inside. I sat in a secluded table in a corner that was part of the bar. The menu was printed in a paper take out bag very original. The sake is amazing. Very friendly staff and great selection of sushi. I had a Philadelphia rolls because that was what I was craving. Pretty standard roll nothing too special but it was really yummie! I'll be back because I was there on my lunch break and couldn't spend too much time and I would like to explore more of their very interesting menu. Also they have hibachi read more

Terrible dining experience from top to bottom. We only came here because there was a two hour wait at Samurai which was a huge mistake. The service was atrocious despite an over abundance of staff who seemed to be wandering the restaurant without attending to the customers. When we complained the managers gave us attitude and were less than apologetic. When we asked that a part of our food be comped they instead canceled part of our order. When we inquired again the manager lied and said we had canceled our order. I would never come back to this place ever again, a complete disaster of a meal. Steer clear!!! read more

This has been the worst customer service I ever had we sat down order drinks it took 43 mins to get out drinks and it wasn't busy when we were there. They never came back and asked if we want another, when the chef came they forgot my order it already took the chef 1:15mins to come now they forgot my order, the chef we order shrimp, chicken, and steak he gave me 4 shrimp and my girl 3 and the other people on the table one got 6 one got 5 And we had all order the same. The worst experience I had to get up go to the bar to get another drink bc they never came to ask us if we needed something read more

Best spot for lunch on a weekend! Top notch service and food. Always look forward to coming back.

Have been getting the lunch specials with takeout for a while now. Ordered it again yesterday and was surprised when I got home that they had much smaller portions. I called to ask the manager about it. He seemed indifferent telling me our portions are all the same. Basically telling me he didn't care. Clearly they were not the same. Since he could not actually see them side by side he had no way of knowing that. Just brushed me off. Like I will be brushing them off when ordering in the future. Not a good way to be when the restaurant business is hurting already. Time to hire a new day manager Aoki! read more

Been coming here since it opened up and it's a favorite because the food is always delicious and very fresh. We've done teppanyaki a couple of times but to be honest, I enjoy sitting at the bar and ordering there because it's quicker than sitting at a table. Always get a double order of the spicy tuna roll, it's that good. Faves are, Laughing Buddah, Fire Cracker Shrimp Tempura, Eel Avocado Roll, Eggplant Miso (OMG!), Inaka Fried Rice, Katsu Donburi, Fire Dragon. Their Chicken Teriyaki bento box is a great deal and really delicious. read more

Super fun! I love coming here. The price is reasonable for the experience you are getting. They have options. You can get the teppanyaki but you don't have to. The teppanyaki here is very fun. My favorite meat here is the chicken. It tastes great. The staff is very nice and the chefs are very interactive. My only issue with the place is the parking. Often, I dot find parking due to the fact that it is in a mall. But other than that, great restaurant and great experience! read more
