I am sooooo happy I found Rise & Grind. The set-up of their classes (a combination of "sweat" and "build") work so well with my personal goals and its got great intensity. Each class maxes at 6 people so it really does feel like semi-private in a group setting and each day is switched up so exercises are always different. And...with the people I've met along the way, there is a lot of great community. Most especially, all the coaches are TOP NOTCH! completely encouraging and ready to switch things up based on individual ability. Their new location in the heart of Montrose is especially nice! Yesterday, I trained wearing the exact same outfit and sandals. I completed my entire workout, and not a single employee said anything to me about violating any policy. Today, I came in wearing the exact same outfit. After I had already entered the gym, the General Manager, Johny, approached me and told me to come with him. He informed me that I could not work out wearing sandals because of their policy. I calmly explained that no one had ever informed me of this rule before, especially considering I had trained the day before in the same outfit without any issue. I simply asked if they could make an exception this one time since the rule had never been communicated to me. At that point, another employee claimed she had already warned me previously. That statement was completely false. She has never spoken to me about sandals or any dress code. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Johny immediately escalated it. Rather than allowing me to change my shoes, explaining the policy respectfully, or simply asking me to leave for the day, he told me they wanted to cancel my membership, gave me two minutes to leave the gym, and threatened to call the police if I didn't. I was shocked by how aggressively this situation was handled. After being a loyal member for over a year, I expected respect and professionalism, not intimidation and false accusations. Policies should be enforced consistently. If sandals are not allowed, then that rule should be communicated clearly and applied equally to everyone--not ignored one day and turned into a threat of police involvement the next. This experience completely changed my opinion of this location. I hope Planet Fitness management reviews how members are treated, because no paying customer deserves to be treated this way.

Now customer service, everyone was amazing and so friendly. They truly make you feel comfortable. Now the class. Ok this might be long... my best friend were trained by AJ and he was strict but fun and motivating. He really made us work out. I'm not gonna lie I hate exercising and now I'm overweight so this was not easy. However I actually can't wait for my next session which is in one day.
