But every time I passed by on my way home from work, my car was parked in the exact same spot, untouched. A full month went by before they finally called and told me it was ready. I picked it up, drove off--and immediately realized the transmission was stuck in second gear. I had to turn around and bring it right back. They apologized and promised to fix it right away, yet it took another two weeks before they returned my vehicle. Moral of the story...Rocklin Transmission was the cheapest out of all the other shops, so you'll definitely get what you pay for.

What has prompted me to write this review today is the experience I had with Justin on the phone a couple of days ago. My husband and I recently purchased a 2022 Hyundai Sonata. While looking through the owner's manual we noticed that this car specifically recommends spark plug replacement at 40,000 miles. We just hit that and and not wanting to void our warranty we called to arrange a spark plug replacement. To note, I could have done this myself, but again I don't want to give Hyundai any reason to say the engine failed due to improper maintenance. When I called to inquire about pricing, Justin immediately told me I don't need to change them this early. He then proceeded to tell me that Hyundai just recommends this to get people to spend more money. He told me he used to work for them and it isn't the spark plugs that is the problem with their engines but rather a rod. Look, I appreciate someone trying to save me money, but I also believe that when a car is still under warranty manufacturer recommendations should be followed. I probably would not have written this review except I saw Mary K's review and have to agree that Justin seems to have some kind of bias against Hyundai. I know their GDI engines were not great, but this is a newer model and it has a turbo engine and I was just trying to do what was right for the car. I ended up making the appointment with another trusted mechanic.

Replaced Transmission in 1 day!!!…read more I called around to find a good deal for replacing/rebuilding my truck's transmission, so I had a pretty good idea of turnaround times and prices, plus I'm shadetree mechanic. Called Liberty, spoke with Eric, and since he had my transmission in stock, he asked me if I could bring it in that same day, and he said it could be done within hours! (Didn't really believe that). I couldn't make it then, so I arranged early drop off next day. Dropped off in the am, and in the afternoon I get a call to let me know about other findings (rear main seal, one tranny mount, shifter cable) and that the truck will be ready for pickup around 4PM. WHAT??? I've NEVER, in over my 50 years of life and dozens of cars, had a shop give me these kind of timelines, and no BS. So again, I had to arrange getting there in time to pick up my truck, and drive off into the sunset, with a smooth, nice smelling, running/shifting, all gears 4L60E. My life was hardly affected, no need for rentals, ubers, missing work, grief, etc... Eric was all business, matter of fact, courteous, and gave me an UNBEATABLE deal and warranty, by MILES... It's just peace of mind that you hardly ever get from auto-shops, and honestly, you don't even get at times when you pay top $$$. I work on my cars, I've done engine/transmissions swaps, and I know the work that goes into it. This was a no brainer, my total cost was less than just a rebuilt unit from other shops!
