Had my SUV transmission serviced there about 2ish years ago, 200 miles after the service, i started hearing what i would describe as a whine upon acceleration. The Cocky Lead mechanic test drove it twice, came back the second time, and acted as if i were hearing things, showing very little respect to me even though i drive my SUV everyday. I know what sounds my vehicle makes...i used to work on cars for a living in my younger years. Getting no resolve and disrespect too, i took my truck to a different shop, Scottys A1 Transmission, we test drove and he definitely heard the whine, then serviced the Transmission and found that the filter that Red-D replaced had started to come apart at the seam, forcing high pressure fluid through, causing the whine. Cheap filter. A1 Transmission took care of me, replacing the filter and 2ish years later, transmission still running great. 160,000 miles... I shudder to think if i would have let it go, trusting RedD-D, and all the dirty fluid & crap in the filter would have been circulating throughout...doubt i would still be on my original transmission. $$$$ NOT ever going back to Red-D... read more

They charged me $130 for a transmission diagnosis which was no more than an uneducated guess and quoted ne $4300 for repairs. Wes tried to talk me into leaving my SUV there but I picked it up instead. The transmission is no longer engaging like it was when I took it to their shop. I called yesterday and was informed they can run a diagnostic test on my truck today (this morning). That's what I wanted to hear! !!!!WARNING!!!!: Worst shop I've ever been to. I had to take my car back twice because my car was shaking and now it shakes when I put it in reverse. I just went there to get my transmission serviced and he ended up saying I had to also replace 3 of my mounts. They said my car was fine and now after 1 hour of leaving the shop my car is shaking. I spent over 1300 with them and they would not resolve it saying it might be my transmission. Don't waste your time or money. I tried getting it resolved through them and they said they would not be willing to do anything. Update: come to find out he never replaced all my mounts and actually lied I called the B.A.R. and they said there was nothing they could do because he's licensed. Don't risk getting your car tampered with by someone who doesn't know what they're doing. Go to Greenback Automotive and they'll take care of you. Honest work and you never have to worry about them messing up your car and leaving you on your own. read more

Quality work, something I thought was a dying practice, but I was wrong. I needed a clutch for my 2015 Hyundai Elantra, and this shop was happy to help. Some of the things I found valuable to my experience were, the shop was clean, and so was the parking lot. I often drive down Fair Oaks Blvd at night, and I never see a bunch of cars sitting in the parking lot all night long. What I mean is, they brought my car inside and kept it safe for me during the overnight hours. The technicians were clean, shirts tucked in and experienced. I myself come from a long line of mechanics and technicians so I appreciate things like this. The clutch replacement was done correctly, and after two weeks now, I can report that my car is doing awesome! It is like owning a brand-new car again! Honestly, I do not know who did the work on my car, but what I can say is that Wes (the owner) and his son were great to deal with. They answered all my questions and kept me informed along the way. I had my check engine light come on, Jiffy Lube ran the codes and I called another mechanic shop who said they were transmission codes and that they weren't going to be able to help me. They recommended Red D, and I am so glad they did. I took my car in on Monday, they called later Monday and let me know that they weren't totally sure what was wrong with my car yet but that the transmission fluid looked at so it had been changed recently (jiffy lube had patched a leak and topped off the fluid when I got the check engine light looked at. Also a great jiffy lube experience!), and that the light wouldn't come back on. I agreed to leave the car over night let them continue investigating (I work from home, no biggie). Tuesday they let me know that the transmission was showing no further issues, but there was a seal with damage. They ordered a new one for me, installed it and gave me good authentic advice on what to expect from my car and its lifespan (it's an older car I got fairly cheap so I wasn't expecting it to live forever). But the best part is I left the shop with a bill of less than $400. When I heard transmission codes I didn't think it would be possible to get off this light! I appreciate all the communication and the lack of effort to push me to do unnecessary work. My son was driving my 2013 Toyota Highlander on the freeway when it just stopped driving. He got it off the road and it wouldnt move in drive or reverse. I had it towed to Roseville Toyota who charged me $180 to troubleshoot the problem. They determined it needed a new transmission and quoted me $6500. I shopped it around and talked to Red D based on their good reviews - Wes. They quoted me a much better price so I had it towed to their shop. All I can say is save your $$$ and time. They didn't do what I paid them to do. I asked for them to check my engine and transmission. I brought in a 1969 cutlass I recently purchased and wanted a good walk thru of the engine and transmission. By the time they got to my car (2 nearly 3 weeks??) I supposedly needed a brake booster?? (Per my picture of the engine compartment prior to taking it there I could have thought it was new) And some gasket on the transmission and module, plus recommended to change the tires from the 22" ?? to a smaller rim and tire setup. Okay sure. If he thinks it will ride better. No mention of charging me for putting on the smaller rims on even though wheels needed to go back on any way whether it was the 22 or what which should be within the paid job criteria, they said they would put on no problem I mean if not why recommend me to bring in different wheels and tires are you offering a convenience or charging me for something I could have done at a wheel and tire shop??? The total for just a small booster job, putting on some rims and transmission gasket and module $1100!???? Wait did you check the engine, RedD says oh yeah its and every day driver. Okay cool no issues I thought. Mind you these wheels they put on that I provided, after the recommendation from them cost me dearly. 1300$ for the wheels and tires and the folks at RedD scuffed the rear driver side wheel! The guys hand prints are still on the wheel. Are you kidding me? Not only is my car leaking, now my brand spanking new rim has a huge scuff on it??? This place is absolutely outstanding! I brought in an older chevy in that I recently purchased that needed a new clutch. They diagnosed all the issues with the truck for $90 and refunded that charge because I had them perform the work. They went the extra mile and replaced all the right parts (throw out, pilot barring, pressure plate, etc.) when installing the new clutch and did an excellent job replacing my u-joints as well. I got straight-forward no-nonsense information but was told they'd need to inspect to see how much clearance was available for an installation. They also provided a timely courtesy inspection.
