They mentioned it looked like the torque converter. I took it to Scotty he was fair and square. He quoted me $90 to look at it and then $4100 to rebuild it. The transmission is smooth I am happy and I saved about $2000 over the dealership. I just came back from my two week check up there are no leaks everything looks great and I am one happy customer. I have to say their level of customer service and the way they interacted with me talking to me as a partner and not down to me as a woman with a transmission problem I am impressed!! Update as of February 16, 2020: It turned out that Ford sent two bad torque converters and warranted them to Scotty's. Scotty pulled my transmission twice to fix the problem. Each time he was friendly and solution oriented I am so impressed with the integrity of Scotty and Brian and A-1. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! The news was unfortunate but I just wanted an honest assessment rather than just shotgunning parts like the last shop that tried to troubleshoot the issue.

I have been going to RED-TRANSMISSION for many years now and I would not take my vehicle to any other shop. They are family owned and operated, and the technicians there are trained and certified and have years of experience. Their name is somewhat misleading because they don't just do transmissions. I have had many repairs done to my vehicles and they have always done outstanding work. Whatever may be wrong with your vehicle they will figure it out and repair it in a timely manner. The thing I love most about RED-D TRANSMISSION is their honesty. They will tell you exactly what is wrong with your vehicle and they won't fix something that doesn't need to be fiixed or sell you something that you don't need. It is so wonderful to know that you aren't going to get ripped off. They fix it right the first time and they stand by their work. I could write pages and pages of how they have helped me over the years. You don't have to just take my word for it. Read the other reviews. I am a customer of theirs for life. Tore out my TH350 from 71 4x4 Suburban. Took into RedD Trans. on Fair Oaks, from looking at reviews and reference from a coworker. After replacing some stripped out pan bolts and an upgrade spange race recommended to all TH350 by everyone and a shift kit. The bill came out a little more than quoted. Wes, did call and get an approval first. Installed back into Suburban and it works beautifully. Shifts at all the right points, depending on how much gas I'm giving her. Downshifts great, holds 2nd for as long as needed. Wes even gave me a can of cleaner for my trans. cooler. Transmission has no leaks and is working fantastic. Wes and his crew are first rate transmission re builders. I HIGHLY recommend them for any transmission work. The price was well within reason of all the shops I got quotes from. Just bought a 2014 Buick Lacrosse at a dealer in the Sacramento area and started to have transmission problems. Brought it in to have it diagnosed at Red D even though I had a 3 month 3000 mile warranty from the dealer I needed proof of a problem and Wes took me through the steps he would perform. When done Wes gave me a detailed diagnoses and advice on how to proceed with the dealer. I had the car towed back to the dealer. Well after many calls this week between the dealer and I they agreed there was a problem and will replace the transmission. I want to say that the diagnoses Wes gave me was spot on almost word for word to the dealers diagnoses. It is so nice to find an honest and professional shop that I will come back again. Beware of Red-D Transmissions...they just might renew your faith in quality auto repair @ a fair price! I have a classic 1970 Javelin SST...you don't just take this car anywhere for repair work. Original tranny was old and sloppy, shifter so out of line you didn't know what gear it was in until car "jerked" in that direction. After much research, took it in to Red-D. I noticed 2 other classic cars there when I pulled in, putting me at ease They rebuilt the tranny as well as corrected some other items they found on this 43 yr. old classic. Transmission was slipping a bit on 2021 ford 550 work truck and needed an honest company to check it. I knew Wes from the church and figured that was a good place to start. They ran the codes and changed the fluid and now it shifts like a Cadillac. No major repairs required. And these ford 10 speeds are notorious for going out so anyone could easily sell a full replacement. Also had them service the rear end diff and he came back with a lower price than quoted, saying it was easier than expected. They are honest. The brake pads were in good shape, but the front rotors needed to be resurfaced. They also inspected the fluids. The oil and transmission fluid were good, but the brake fluid failed the copper corrosion test. The Toyota dealership tried to have me replace the pads, rotors, and all the fluids. TOS was honest and advised me to only do the services that were needed. They saved me hundreds of dollars from what the dealer wanted. I will definitely go back!

They mentioned it looked like the torque converter. I took it to Scotty he was fair and square. He quoted me $90 to look at it and then $4100 to rebuild it. The transmission is smooth I am happy and I saved about $2000 over the dealership. I just came back from my two week check up there are no leaks everything looks great and I am one happy customer. I have to say their level of customer service and the way they interacted with me talking to me as a partner and not down to me as a woman with a transmission problem I am impressed!! Update as of February 16, 2020: It turned out that Ford sent two bad torque converters and warranted them to Scotty's. Scotty pulled my transmission twice to fix the problem. Each time he was friendly and solution oriented I am so impressed with the integrity of Scotty and Brian and A-1. But I got a reasonable quote and the longest warranty that I was able to get quoted from anywhere else, including the dealer. They were very communicative, very informative and they made the experience a very un stressful situation as stressed as I was going into the situation. So far my transmission replacement has been smooth and I plan on coming back for routine maintenance. So they have accumulated another customer in me.

I had heard from various people(GM 17-21)who had experienced the same problem with the transmission going out, who had mentioned they had spent less or more and they were not satisfied. Either job not well done with the transmission or it simply just being a GM issue with these particular years that shops can't get right. Well House of Automatic Transmissions nailed it. Bonus: they work on old school cars and it's nice to see them in the shop as they are working on them. If that doesn't tell you experience I don't know what does.

Fred was really tentative to my anuto needs and helpfully transferred me to Joel in ALLSTATE TRANSMISSION (which is a few blocks away from golden one automotive). Joel was super friendly when I arrived to check out the shop. He kindly gave me a tour of the shop/ area where the transmissions are repaired. I immediately felt after researching other shops that this was where I wanted to get my truck fixed. When I dropped off my truck they immediately got to working on it and were done in 1 day with it! Truck runs as smooth as butter . Joel was kind and let me know if there is any issues to please let him know to get things in order. I will definitely be taking my cars for any future repairs to Joel. Will definitely give Fred a call if any issues come up with my other vehicles.
