The buffet is available on weekends (I believe from 11 AM to 2 PM) and offers a nice selection of flavorful dishes, along with free drinks! You can also order items from the regular menu that aren't included in the buffet. I ordered samosas to compliment the meal I was having with my brother, and they were delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they do a great job keeping the buffet stocked. Whenever a tray started running low, fresh food appeared almost immediately. That attention to detail made the experience feel well-managed and welcoming. The atmosphere is another plus. The newer buffet area gives the restaurant a unique feel, but traditional indoor seating is also available if you prefer. Overall, Flavor of India offers a great combination of variety, service, and atmosphere.

We all ordered our own entrees but we also all ordered rice (oops) there's enough rice for at least 2 people. We also shared some plain naan. And don't skip the mango lassi. We were going to do dessert but we were all stuffed! I wish I had more reasons to come to San Lorenzo so I can eat here more often. Big parking lot - cleanest restaurant bathroom I've seen in ages. Nice family run staff.

Solid authentic Indian food exceeding quality expectations and a veteran in takeout service…read more Phulkari Indian Cuisine is a top choice for us when we are in the area as their food is delicious, made fresh, and packaged well for on the go families like us. We have our favorites from their menu but they host a variety of curries, proteins, and small bites/street eats. Panipuri - crispy balls ready to be loaded up with lentils, delicious fillings and sauces, these mouthfuls are great for starters but you'll find yourself eating these throughout the meal not only because you're hungry but also because you just can't get enough of them. Samosas - hearty fried dumplings packed with potatoes that are perfect for eating on the go. Great by itself or with sauces and curry, these hot pockets are a burst of flavor that will stuff you up. Goat curry - full of flavor and a bit on the spicy end for those sensitive to capsaicin. Pair with naan or rice and you'll be golden, from the tastes you'll be experience as well as the heat! Butter paneer/chicken - the sweetness of the curry is subtle but the creaminess is what will win you over. Smothered over chicken or paneer, this is a delicious palate pleaser. Biryani - solid staple, flavorful and cooked perfectly. Great by itself or paired with some curry or a grilled entree. Salmon - delicious but a bit overcooked for my liking but in a pinch, omega-3s can be supplemented in this meal. Overall, Phulkari satisfies our craving for Indian curry any day and it's great knowing that the experience will consistently be a good one anytime those cravings come up. We haven't had a chance to dine in but would welcome the opportunity to visit for a sit down. For now, they're still our go-to for Indian cuisine when we are in the area. Unsure of where you'll end up settling for food or not having the time or space to cook an elaborate meal packed with flavors and aromas? Phulkari pulls through as the restaurant of choice!

Favorite Indian Restaurant, Hayward…read more August 2026 My nephew was craving for Tandoori and Butter chicken so we came here for much. We were served with appetizer called Papadum (Papad) which is are thin, crispy discs made from lentil, chickpea, or rice flour. They are served as an appetizer with mint chutney or tamarind sauce. They were so good! Next we ordered the Tandoori chicken and their lunch specials: Butter chicken, Chicken Vinaloo and Paneer Tikka Masala. All came with naan and side dishes. We also ordered the onion naan too. All the chicken entrees were very tender and fall off the bones. The Chicken Vinaloo was my favorite because of the tender, juicy chicken and the Vinaloo sauce was a tad spicy which I loved! I need to order an entree by itself next time! There was a rice pudding as a side dish they had and it was really good! It used to be plain and bland which I didn't like, now they added sliced almonds, golden raisins and other stuff that made it sweet. Perfect way to end the meal! Services were excellent! The waiter had all our orders correct and he was attentive. Definitely coming back for the weekend when they serve the buffet! Highly recommend this place.

The fresh grilled meats served table side is a nice idea but poorly executed. There weren't very many and it kept running out by the time it reached our table. The lamb was good but the grilled chicken kebabs were dry. My favorite buffet offerings were all the veggies plus the tandoori chicken and naan. The zucchini, cauliflower and chickpea dishes were delicious. The tandoori chicken was fresh and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately the meat curries were bland for me with little spice and heat. Plus the chicken in all the curries were very dry. I'm happy I tried it but not sure I'd come back.

Beware of the dishonest coupon promotions…read more I actually like the food, but my experience with this restaurant's business practices was terrible. I have now received the same "20% OFF your entire order" promotion multiple times. The email contains a "CLAIM 20% OFF NOW!" button that directs customers to their online ordering platform, clearly implying that the coupon can be redeemed online. The coupon does not work online. When I called, I was told they would only honor the discount if I ordered in person. After I ordered, I discovered that the in-person menu prices were noticeably higher than the online prices. Then what worse? We were kept waiting for about 40 minutes, and the staff was RUDE and dismissive. After comparing the prices, the advertised 20% discount worked out to be only about 5%. A 5% discount is definitely not worth a 40-minute wait and the attitude! This was not a one-time mistake. I recently received the exact same promotion again, tried it again, and once again the coupon did not work online. At this point, I have lost trust in this restaurant's practice. I believe it is a distasteful tactic to get customers committed before they discover the reality. The coupon doesn't work online, so you're told to drive to the restaurant instead. Only after arriving and ordering do you realize the in-person menu prices are higher than the online prices. By then, you've already spent the time and effort to get there. The food is not bad, but given what they did and given how RUDE (getting worse actually) they are! I will no longer be returning nor recommending them to others after 6 yrs. ordering from them!

We had borani kaddu - butternut squash with yogurt and garlic sauce. This was a good alternative to the common borani banjan. the texture was perfect, not overly cooked, went well with the warm bread. perfect for vegetarians. Our vegetarian companion had borani banjan - smoked, grilled eggplants in the tomato yogurt sauce similar to the appetizer we had. But served with rice and salad and green chick pea side provided enough serving. it was delicious - they have an option to make it vegan as well. Now quabili palaw was the star! massive size of lamb shank, well seasoned, well cooked, perfectly seasoned. The rice was fantastic with enough sweet carrots and raisins. Will be back just for this! Shami kabob came with two kababs (picture only one as our little one already sneaked one!). Kababs were juicy, perfectly spiced, with enough rice and salad. Between quabili palaw and shami kabob was enough for two adults and hungry child... Khoshmazeh!
