in 2024 i requested Modern Pests services to help with bats in my attic. they responded well and…read moreinstalled 1 way bat traps on my roof. the issue came with the removal. i would check the portal to see removal services scheduled only to find no one came out or there was snow on my roof and couldn't remove the traps (understandable) a year and a half later a tech came out to remove the traps. a few days later my wife asks what is in the front yard? it was the removed bat traps just thrown on my front lawn. when i went to check the roof for the traps there was still a trap in my roof. not only did they not perform the full removal but they left trash on my front lawn. i wrote to modern pest who just quietly scheduled another bat trap removal with the same tech who left trash on my lawn the first time. when i called them directly i wasn't able to speak to a manager on duty at all. No manager contacted me prior to just scheduling another removal even though the report the tech wrote out stated he removed all traps the first time. so clearly they were aware of my issue before scheduling another removal appointment and just never bothered to reach out to apologize or anything.

After a few unanswered calls to other companies, I reached these folks, and they were totally no-nonsense. They were available right away, and came to treat the house while we were at work. Their spray worked like a charm on the first try, killing the hornets around the house and repelling others from landing. When the warm weather arrived, so did the carpenter ants, and I called these guys again. I'm not sure if they're a family business, but sure it seems like it - the lady who answers the phone is sweet and helpful, and the exterminator was the same guy who had treated the hornet problem. They were available to treat the ant infestation right away, and even had a seasonal "service agreement" that covers pest control for the whole year for a set price (which, in both of my dealings with them, has come in exactly at, or under, what I was quoted on the phone). These seem like good people doing an honest business; I'd totally recommend them to anyone who wants to place one call and not have to worry about it again.

As soon as the first squirrel took the peanut bait, Rich came right back over (in a snow storm!) to collect the little guy. He repeatedly assured me that he would take him to a nice, safe place, just far enough away so that Mr. Squirrel would not be able to move back into my house. Rich then continued to set traps to catch and release the squirrel family until everyone was accounted for. Finally, once the weather improved he was able to seal the hole in our attic. Chip & Dale will need to find a new clubhouse for their shenanigans this year.

I have no rodent problems so declined that. Two weeks go by and the bee guy finally shows up. I paid for that service in full at the time, but somehow got myself into a contract. Fast forward to today when they tell me they are coming g to check and repair my rodent traps. I HAVE NO TRAPS. It is costing me $199 to "break my contract" .DO NOT USE.
