these yahoos are the Keystone Cops of pest services. In August I called to eradicate wasps. Guy shows up with no bee suit or spray, but a truck full of rodent traps. I have no rodent problems so declined that. Two weeks go by and the bee guy finally shows up. I paid for that service in full at the time, but somehow got myself into a contract. Fast forward to today when they tell me they are coming g to check and repair my rodent traps. I HAVE NO TRAPS. It is costing me $199 to "break my contract" .DO NOT USE. read more

Carpenter ants observed in 2 places in the house. I had NO issues with the techs, as what they did, worked! However, the constant " reminders" to renew the " contract" became very close to harrassment and business practices on the edge of abnormal. Multiple times this business was told the contract would not be renewed. Calls/emails contined. Finally, I did receive confimation of non- renewal. But, as the last visit by the tech concluded, yet another voice was left, stating that if I did not contact them, the billing would continue,etc. I called, MPS, Brunswick. I believe the "billing" agent, when I was done understood the potential action I would take. I expect no more contact. I would never use again or recommend this company due this. read more

Service has gone steadily downhill over the last few years, not reliable at all. They either show up without confirming if anyone will be home to service interior, or cancel during the scheduled service window. Most recent issue was today when they called to cancel 2 hours into a 4-hour service window due to weather that is not impacting my location. Interior service at a minimum should have been done given their (faulty) weather concerns. They could have at least had the courtesy to call this morning to reschedule and not wait until 4pm. I was assured that my complaint would be shared with service manager - as has been promised before with no improvement in service. Very disappointing given the wonderful reliable service that we always received before Modern Pest was sold. read more

This company is a joke. They auto charge monthly, yet only show up automatically a few times a year. They say they will come out more often as needed, but they never return calls for the most important issues. We continually have carpenter bee damage, and we signed up with this company because they said they pre treat for carpenter bees in the spring to prevent damage. But, good luck trying to get someone to call you back to schedule a service call. I have been trying unsuccessfully for a month now. read more

AWFUL customer service. Spent 30' on phone discussing my needs, getting prices, scheduled, etc. told agent I would talk to my wife and call back. Called back 15' later to signup. Person answering phone had no idea who the first agent was, and wanted me to go thru the entire talk again. I said I'd call back in 30' and try to get first agent. Called back - got a third agent. Again, no idea who first agent was, no record of initial conversation. Reluctantly I repeated all my issues. When it came to price, she asked me what I had been quoted. I told her it wasn't my job to state the price and asked her what the price would be. She didn't want to give me a price because "it might be different from first call". I asked if they were making up the price with each customer. She got mad at me for not telling her what I had been quoted, so I hung up on her. God-awful Service. Modern Pest continually sends ill-equipped or physically challenged technicians. Several times, the technician has shown up without a ladder to reach our attic. Once, the technician was too short to reach bait on high shelfs and did not bring a grasping tool (or step stool) to assist. Today, an injured technician showed up who could not climb a ladder to due to injury. His manager sent him know this and to the technician to "do the best he could". His best of course, was not good enough. Today, after several managers at the company made excuses and not solutions for these issues, we fired them. My advice...STAY AWAY. read more

Poor customer service, we don't recommend them. They came out last year within 30 minutes it down poured. They refused to come back and spray. I was told by law they can spray for 7 to 10 days. I was surprised they came out last week to treat. I called they said they can't credit me back the $146.00 they put on my credit card. Someone called me the other day told me someone did come back out two days later. I told them no one did we have camara's all over. Still won't refund me. read more

I initially had bad service from modern pest and took my issues to the better business bureau after not resolving it with modern pest and once I told bbb, I immediately received a called from Jeremy duvore whom I think is the manager and he was super nice and very helpful and he resolved everything for me. It sucks that I had to take it to bbb but I'm thankful that I did because I received immediate assistance and I appreciate Jeremy reaching out to me so quickly. read more

I would give fewer stars if I could. Super disappointed with them - did not do a good job of caring for my home within the contract and would not let me cancel my membership early despite not seeing any change. We hired a house manager who has done WAY more in helping us than this scam. Spiders! We have them. Add to this the fact that my wife is an arachnaphobe, and we needed to call an exterminator. We ended up going with Modern Pest Services based on some friendly recommendation, and it's turned out quite well. I'm not sure how other exterminators work, but Modern Pest Services works in phases. Because spiders have baby spiders (eww), you have to do multiple rounds of treatment. I haven't been there when the guys have come, but my wife said they've all been super-friendly and reassuring. This is particularly meaningful to someone like her for whom spiders are a real emotional issue. The people she's coordinated visits with in the phone have been accommodating and easy to schedule with. We saw a big reduction in spiders after the first treatment. As expected, some spiders still remained, and we were hoping they'd be gone altogether after the second treatment, but a few little jerks still kept appearing in our bedroom or our daughter's bedroom every night. Part of their service is that they'll come back at no charge if the problem persists, and we've taken advantage of this twice. After two follow-up visits they suggested fully taping up our air conditioners or taking them out altogether because they believe that's how the remaining few jerks were getting in. We just did this last night, so here's hoping! I'll update my review if needed as time moves on, but so far they've definitely earned their money and provided an excellent service. read more

I recently had Modern Pest Services come out to my home in Alfred because we were having a carpenter ant "invasion." The tech was very professional and competent. He knew exactly what areas to treat. Since his one visit, we have not seen a single ant. He also sprayed our entire house, under the eaves and around the foundation, and inspected the garage, where he found a mice nest. He removed the nest and placed bait boxes in the garage to help prevent more mice from nesting there in the future. All this for a very low price.
