Gotta love the work lunch reviews. What do I mean? Ya know, when you order from a place weekly and have never actually been to the spot. Perhaps one might state that you're missing some of the needs to properly review an establishment without being inside and actually ordering in person...for me, I'll look the other way if you will...yes? Okay, then keep reading about the tastiness of Antonino's. You see, Antonino's (not Antonio's despite your brain wanting you to say/see that) wasn't always our usual Friday lunch order spot. It's only recently become that due to getting a little tired of our other usual Manhasset lunch location (sorry Gino's) and needing something refreshingly different. I use that word refreshing because Antonino's house salad is ridiculously tasty. Marinated artichoke hearts and mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and some of the tasty basics (red onion, tomato, cucumber, romaine lettuce) makes up this delicious bowl of greens and such. Put some creamy balsamic dressing on top and you'll be smitten. Now I'd easily be able to slap five stars on Antonino's if that were the only item I've ordered, but having interest in trying a myriad of other food options, I've found some items to borderline the great-good level. Case in point would be the Greek salad and walnut salad. Both are totally solid salad options, but they don't necessarily balance out the flavors like that Antonino's house salad does. I will give props to Antonino's lunch special where you can get a whole personal pizza (thinner crust and quality ingredients) plus a soup or salad for $16. I did this once and chowed down on a scrumptious Italian wedding soup complete with massive meatballs. Yum. Overall, Antonino's has plenty of wonderfully flavorful food options (especially for lunch). Maybe not everything is amazing, but you'll find plenty of items to love without ever needing to go there to enjoy it. Be like my coworkers and I and just order for delivery! read more

Recently dined here while visiting my family during a weeknight. We were quickly seated and greeted with complimentary bread and butter, a nice touch, but not too uncommon with the restaurants in the area. Our server was friendly, although there were some inconsistencies in their service. For our appetizer, we ordered the Mussels Luciano with white sauce. They were cooked perfectly, not rubbery at all, with a thin but well-seasoned sauce. Solid appetizer, no complaints. Moving on to the main course, the Pasta alla Vodka was also great. I ordered it with rigatoni and the prosciutto, peas, and onions option. The rigatoni was cooked al dente, and the sauce had a savory and subtle sweet flavor profile. However, I was disappointed there was virtually no prosciutto and not too many peas, despite paying extra for them. The addition wasn't even enough to change the flavor profile all that much. Additionally, our server told us that the dish came with bread when we ordered, but it never ended up arriving. Next, we ordered the Seafood Marechiaro, which was also made with decent shrimp, calamari and mussels and nicely al dente squid ink pasta. However, we think it could have been better if they improved the proportions. The dish is definitely heavier on the seafood, without enough pasta to appreciate. We should have known since it was listed as a seafood dish instead of a pasta dish, but we just kinda expected a better balance between the seafood and the pasta (especially since this was the only dish on the menu with squid ink pasta). The sauce was decent here, nothing too special. Again, the server mentioned the dish coming with salad which never ended up coming. The interior has that classic Italian restaurant vibe to it. The parking space is limited, so plan accordingly. While the portion sizes were overall good, there's room for improvement in adjusting the ingredient proportions. Plus, it would have been better if they hadn't promised side plates if they weren't going to be provided, as it left us feeling disappointed. read more

I work at St. Francis Hospital in Biomedical Engineering. I can only begin to explain how difficult it is to satisfy and make 10 male engineers happy with food. This is the 3rd time we've ordered lunch from Antonino's for various occasions . They have yet to ever disappoint us. The pizza is out of this world and they make our parties absolutely delicious and the food is out of this world. Today we ordered garlic knots and they were out of this world. Haven't been here in a while but the food is always pretty good! Nothing to blow us away except the salad because their thick balsamic vinegrette dressing is super good! We also really like the calamari arrabiata which has just enough kick of spiciness it's not too much for my family who don't really like spicy but enough for me who loves spicy! We also shared the rice balls, which were okay. They're hugeee but it's a lot of rice even though you can pour bolognese sauce on it. We thought they needed some more flavor. We also got the baked clams which were small but good, get some bread for that yummy lemon sauce! I got the pasta antonino which has chicken, sundried tomato, and spinach in a light (wine?) sauce i assume. It was good though i wish it had a little more flavor or that the sauce held to the linguine more. My family got a mix of pasta dishes or meat such as chicken parm, alfredo, seafood risotto etc. everyone said their food was fine. Except the seafood risotto was too fishy which is what my usual concern is. Fof dessert we ordered the tiramisu and creme brulee. Both were really good though the creme brulee was more like flan which i like but my brother likes the usual way. It also didn't come with the hard sugar coating on top which was a little saddening. We came two weeks ago for pizza which was amazing. Took home a veal marsala sandwich which was overpriced and mediocre. But we took it home and I figured it lost a little something in travel. So we thought we would try it again last night. Hmmm, lasagna portion was huge and okay, NOT Great! And my pasta with broccoli and sun dried tomatoes was tasteless. Asked for a pesto sauce instead of the wine sauce and they told me there would be an upcharge. RIDICULOUS! So I went with the wine sauce and there was no flavor to the dish. Kept tossing the pasta hoping to pick up some flavor from the sauce on the bottom (top of dish was completely dry) to no avail. Been coming here for years with my family for their pizzas! Last night, decided to try something new, so I got baked clams and calamari salad. My brother got the chicken parmesan, my dad got chicken marsala, and my mom got the filet of sole. Their entrees came with two garden salads and pasta. The marsala and parm were fantastic and authentic. They make spot-on Italian food! My salad had a good amount of calamari, but it was tasteless, so I wish they had added some olive oil or lemon or something to it. It is quite bland. My mom thought her dish was "pure salt," so she didn't enjoy it so much, and that was heartbreaking. So it was a 50/50 in terms of food. I will say that their bread basket is delicious, and their atmosphere is as warm and cozy as it can get. I would definitely recommend Antonino's for the Italian dishes and pizza, especially for a family dinner. Overall, 3.5 stars. read more

It's still January (new year's resolutions die after January ends, everyone knows that lol) so I decided to get the grilled vegetable salad with grilled chicken. I'm directed to a table near the window and a delightful young lady comes right over. I ask her name and it's Jill. She's new on the job. Asks me what I'd like to drink. I ask for a glass of good red wine. She inquires if id like merlot or cabinet. She asks the owner Moe for his recommendation and. She brings back a delicious glass of wine. I'm given the menu which is just HUGE,and see a prix fixed offering. Three course meal. Moe comes over and graciously introduced himself. A guy from Egypt building the American Dream I see in the menu Nice minestrone and bruschetta salad. They both are served and are amazingly delicious. Huge portions. The salad I eat and have half packed to go. The main course I order chicken Francese, with a side of spaghetti marinara. Wow when they come I dive right in! Amazing. Simply marvelous. As a second thought I order some baked clams. Which come late in the meal and are ok. But seriously everything else is marvelous. The red Marinara sauce on the spaghetti is so delicious. Thick and substantial, obviously made with red wine. This is NOT bottled sauce folks. So now I'm stuffed. Stick a fork in me! Now for espresso and a cannoli! Beautiful! I've been a customer of Antonino's for well over 10 years. After today, I probably will not be ordering ever again. Not only is the food expensive but it doesn't taste good, EVER. The only thing that I would consistently order from them is a lunch size salad and of course you can't mess up a salad. If I ever ordered chicken with the salad, it would always come dried out and rubbery. Everything has no taste, is thrown together sloppily and or not even cooked at all. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered the mozzarella sticks and they came completely raw and inedible and I tell the person who answers the phone every single time. Doesn't sound like he cares at all. I've even ordered the mozz sticks requesting them to be cooked well done and they STILL come half frozen. The homemade dressing is delicious but will have you running for the bathroom in minutes. I've had pretty much everything on the menu and every time I order it ceases to satisfy any hunger I might have. The last straw for me is I ordered my usual salad and it looks like they changed the container it comes into a smaller container which is actually half the size of the original salad. We have eaten in Antonino's many times over the years... it continues to be a terrific neighborhood Italian restaurant. We came here on Wednesday night with our neighbors to celebrate our neighbors' twin boys graduation from 8th grade. The menu is varied with lots of wonderful selections. They order fried chicken wings which they seem very happy with and devour. Three of us share the walnut salad with assorted greens, walnuts, dried cranberries,and freshcheese- everyone loves the raspberry vinaigrette which we got on the side... The bread basket comes with fresh bread and delicious little rolls that everyone loves. I have a delicious red sangria, our neighbor has a white wine and the boys order juice to drink. The mains are flavorful with more than ample portions- my husband has his go to penne Antonino, I have the manicotti- which comes as requested not brown on top..: other dishes, veal and peppers and pasta Alfredo. Over the years my husband and I have ordered farfalle formale which we both thoroughly enjoy and he has chicken Marsala and I have chicken franchise- both highly recommended. What is a celebration without dessert ?? One of the boys orders chocolate mousse cake which he devours, 3 of us share the chocolate lava cake which is a rich, divine dessert. We liked everything about this place. Each bite was better than the next. We went in expecting a standard run of the mill meal, well we were taken back by the freshness of the food prepared with intent of the customer in mind, good quality and ample portions. It was an early evening just before 5pm so the dining room was not crowded. It's a nicely appointed pizzeria with a decent wine and beverage menu. Very clean and well kept. It's located on a busy street and parking is tight, but doable and well worth it I might add. I started with a beer, Stella Artois poured out in an ice cold glass. We opted for the three course price fix ($28 each) We Also added an order of baked clams, they were so fresh and traditionally prepared with bread crumbs extremely tasty. I got the chicken franchese with a dish of pasta, it was homemade penne, well prepared in a marinara sauce. The chicken was like butter, the sauce was delicate and light brown, not lemony or too buttery at all, melt in your mouth fork tender with every bite. The chicken parmigiana was ordered by my husband, and a garden salad. the homemade dressing was out of this world good, it may have seemed a little thick, oh no it was prepared freshly Emulsified and absolutely fabulous . The tomato sauce was simple prepared with experience. Dessert was a warm melted lava cake and tartufo, had to get the cappuccino which completed one of my favorite meals for 2022 so far!! everything was spot on , nothing too fancy, but a exactly how you would want to have a nice Italian dinner, I felt like I was taken away from the hustle and bustle of the day and just relaxed and appreciated ever morsel.
