I was a loyal customer of Antietam Cable/Broadband for 9 full years, always paying my bills on time and without any issues. When I sold my house, I promptly called to cancel the service and arranged for equipment pickup. The technician who came out confirmed everything was settled and the agent on the phone explicitly told me that I would receive a check in the mail for any remaining credit balance on my account. Months went by with no check arriving, and no bill or statement ever showed up either. I assumed everything was closed out properly. Then, out of nowhere, I received a notice claiming I owed $20 for equipment not returned and that it was sent to collections. Instead of resolving this simple matter or even sending a proper final bill, they escalated it straight to collections even though they had my telephone number and forwarding address. This is how Antietam treats a long-term, paying customer? Over pocket change? It's absolutely ridiculous and shows a complete lack of customer care. To make it worse, I had even referred the new homeowner (who bought my property) to Antietam, thinking they were a decent local provider. Never again. What a disgrace of a company. Avoid if you value fair treatment and basic accountability. I urge anyone reading this to think twice before signing up with Antietam Broadband. Loyal customers apparently mean nothing when there's a tiny balance to chase. read more

This firm has been just terrible to deal with in my opinion for the past several years. They have installed broadband services in my community and have damaged my property, sidewalks and my existing Xfinity services with their 'work'. They leave trash and debris behind for me to clean up. They always say that they can do whatever they want to because they have an easement. They come back over and over, again and again to the box nearest to my corner property supposedly adding customers and general inconvenient tinkering around. I wonder if anyone else in these 21784 areas has had this much damage, stress and aggravation from these folks. Have they been class action sued? In my opinion they do not care what damage they do to existing homeowners that are NOT their customers. read more

Called Antietam Broadband regarding a transfer of service and spoke with the most amazing customer service representative that I have encountered in a very long time. Amy was very knowledgeable, helpful, efficient, and personable! I used to be a CSR for a mortgage company, so I am well aware of the type of person it takes to be a valuable CSR for a company and Antietam definitely has one with Amy. When I receive exceptional CS, I like to give credit where credit is due. Talking with her and her taking care of what I called about was so easy and like talking with a friend. It wasn't like a lot of companies CS now days that makes you feel like you are interrupting their day or they have an attitude from the start. In my opinion great CS is a value in itself! Nightmare getting service delivered to my house. On the day of the install, no one showed up. I called cus service, just to inform me I have to finish my account setup. After three week of waiting. Now I have additional 3 weeks to wait. I was on the phone with them for 2 1/2 hours. they tried to this on me, for not meeting with the install tech for pathway for interduct to my home. So after talking to the manager and investigating. Engineering had an issue. Crazy, my whole day shot because of this ! read more

It usually works fine but every couple of months the cable goes out for more than 24 hours.... Its infuriating and when you call they will gaslight you and say it's all right!!! Just a great experience setting up my new broadband account with Alaina at Antietam. Talking to a real person, and personalized, relational service is so rare but so encouraging. My current provider is about impossible to actually communicate with - but the prices at Antietam are much more sensible and the plans are more practical as well. One starters they are a monopoly and charge way higher prices than they should be charging. They have the worst WiFi that I've ever experienced. Their service is fine at best. My electronics are always crashing due to the internet and I just bought a new router. read more

Antietam Broadband is a joke of a company and should be embarrassed at how backed up they are. The most recent storm in Hagerstown that knocked out a lot of customers' wifi should be a wake up call that their organization is obsolete and a dinosaur in a world of newer, better, and faster Internet and service providers. As my family and I buckle up for a week without wifi, we'll use that time to search for a new provider. read more

I wanted to be happy with Antitetam broadband- and I am struggling. As they installed fiber optics in the area, I finally decided to go forward with it- because I was told eventually they will not have thier standard service. I was told my price would not increase. When they arrived to install the new service- I was told the farthest they could get it was in my garage and they ran wires up and over the doors and ceiling. The installer finished and gave me two routers to install inside and he made suggestions on where to put them. Then my bill came- and there were additional monthly chargers for the routers. When I called to question the bill- the person said she could not do anything- and I asked to speak to a manager. I finally did speak to one after some phone tag and she told me- if I wanted to return the routers I could- but I should check my service ability first without them. I also asked about the much lower price new customers get for thier service which is guaranteed for 3 years- and she did not address that at all. Overall I felt like there was little concern for my fustrations. I wish we had an alternative. read more

Current outage with "no estimated time for restoration". I've worked for a tech company serving Hagerstown and the surrounding areas and no other internet company has given me such grief as Antietam. Resolved many issues in home theater, internet, etc just by calling Antietam and forcing them to come out to the house just to service it. They keep people grandfathered in to 2mb/s internet speeds and people don't even realize it. This poopoo company has a monopoly on the surrounding Hagerstown area, information taken from many sources over the years addressing internet issues. Has a contract with the county that allows them to be the sole hard wired internet company. So glad we're forced to use this crap "service" in this area all my life. And now there's an outage and they don't even have an estimated time for restoration. It's a consistent lack of respect and exploitation of their ignorant clients and hopefully it'll come to an end soon (especially the elderly). You cross over one zip code either to Frederick, Waynesboro, Greencastle, etc and you'll have access to more companies like Comcast and spectrum who, surprisingly, do a much better job at doing their job and offer higher speeds. Screw this company and its apathetic view of customer service. read more

For many months, late at night, non local channels drop...they go on blackout. What is going on with this? Do people not watch tv after midnight on a weekend? The cable has been a constant source of issues for over a year now and with consistent price increases I'm starting to question if it's really worth keeping it. Very disappointing.
