Been ordering from this place for the past 4 years. Never had a problem until tonight the "owners" son took my order... Homeboy answered the phone and asked "Delivery or pickup?" I said "Delivery Please" Placed a my order for a (superb) Chessesteak Stomboili.. Gave him my full address and phone # and exactly what modifications I wanted.. My guy proceeded tell me it would be "there in 25 minutes" and almost hung up the phone.. I had to catch his attention to tell him I wanted to pay credit card because he didn't even bother to ask me if I was paying cash/card... An hour later our food still wasn't here (usually prompt), I decided to call restaurant for an update.. The" owners" son answered my call and he proceeded to tell me that my order was for "pick up" and that my foood that was ordered/paid for was sitting in the restaurant waiting for me to pick it up.. Then he continued to tell me l was in the wrong.. So if my order was for pick up why the hell did you ask me for my delivery address?! And why did I have to ask pay YOU to pay with CC?! What a shame because this place always has the best Stromboli in SJ.. There jerks didn't even ask to make it right all I got was blame and deflection.. Had to have my fiancee call back for a full refund on our order and they told her 7-10 business days.. NEVER again! Long story short I'm fricken PISSEĎ! Save yourselves the trouble and don't bother.. It has been probably 5 years since we had Anthony's and the ONLY reason was because they did not deliver. Now that they offer delivery ( where have we been?!?) we decided to try them again. We ordered a personal white pizza with broccoli and ricotta, a large sausage pizza, and volcano fries. The personal pizza was so much bigger than we expected. I love crust that is just a little crispy, not too thin, but not too thick, and it was exactly that. I tried the sausage pizza, and even though that usually isn't my choice, I loved that too. The sausage is shredded, so if that's your thing, you'll love it. The fries are your fry shape - in between a shoestring and steak fry- and had cheese whiz, bacon, jalapeños, and mozzarella cheese. They were exactly as expected, but I had no intention of eating them and I couldn't resist. I definitely plan on ordering from Anthony's again! read more

This is one of the best cheese pizza slices I've ever had in my life. I've had thousands. At least. I married a 4th generation NYer from brooklyn. I've grown up in Philly where I fell in love with pizza. I've had the best slices in nyc (lots of great pizza), N Jersey, Bay Area (yes some good pizza there), Chicago, LA, Philly, upstate NY, ling island, and CT. I've had all kinds of pizza, even Indian pizza. As far as the 'ny slice' goes, Anthony's cheese slice is perfect. Perfect thin crust with a firm crispy delicate base, perfect sauce (you can taste the tomatoes, with a lovely balance of acid and sweetness and pure goodness), and perfect mozzarella cheese. However, the crust is delicate, so I recommend you eat it there for the best crust and pizza slice experience. I'll be back for more slices before trying the sandwiches. Love Anthony's , the pizza is always great but sometimes it's exceptional. Tonight I had a personal pizza with the works and it truly was one of the best pizzas I've ever had ! Also ordered the chicken cutlet with spinach , cheese and roasted peppers. This wasn't so great. Really the only problem was it way too salty. It felt like each component was doused in salt making it very unenjoyable. But the ingredients used were good quality. Had it not been so salty it would have been amazing. read more

I was so in the mood for pizza with delicious homemade gravy (tomato sauce) so hubby & I picked up a Large Pizza with extra gravy, sausage & mushrooms. The pizza was so hot & fresh that I had to balance the box on my knees & turn on the defrost for the windshield as it kept fogging up until we got it home, lol!! The pizza was so delicious that I went for that 2nd huge slice but couldn't finish it, so leftovers for dinner tonight, ha ha ha!!! I don't know that chick on YouTube goes around as a competitive eater & gets down whole pizzas in less than 20mins when she's my size!! (Petite). So it's been a few months since eating here for the first time... I've tried out a few more places in the area, but Anthony's easily had the best meatballs and sauce in Township. Every Saturday is my day to eat out after work and 3 of the 4 Saturdays a month is usually here. Kudos to everyone working there too. They are all pleasant, both on the phone and in person. I've been enjoying the pizza here for over 25 years. We started our family tradition of "pizza fridays" in the 90s so it's safe to say I've had my fair share of "za" from this establishment. Over the years the prices have changed, but the quality has not. They have stayed true to tradition and haven't changed their recipe. It's still fantastic neighborhood pizza. Can you get more authentic napoleon pizza elsewhere...sure. Have I had better...indeed. However, Anthony's has never let me down when I'm in need of a quick, affordable, pie. In addition to their pizza I've had their cheesesteaks, sandwiches, and salads. All are great for being the local guys. My only gripe would be to add the same TLC and love to their hoagies and salads as they do their pizza. My family and I had pizza from this location on Sunday. The sausage and mushroom pizza was good but the grandma pizza was really tasty.

Great little pizza shop. The pizza here is great! We don't go anywhere else. I do have a problem with the last time we went. The staff is always nice and very detailed orientated. They always make your food exactly as you want it. The problem is they all were wearing masks but down below their chins. No gloves. One employee had the mask over his face. Just one. We both had our masks on to protect them and other customers. I expect the employees to give the customers the same treatment. read more

Very good pizza. My husband and I ordered dinner recently - Veal Parm, ravioli, side of sausage. I was a little surprised when the bill was $31 but then when I got and opened up our meals, I was totally okay with it. The veal parm dish was packed and not just with the pasta. There were three giant pieces of veal and a ton of cheese. The ravioli dish, while not completely packed in the tin, there were a huge amount of them. The sausage side was two huge pieces of sausage. Each dinner came with a small salad (not a whole lot in it lettuce tomato peppers.... and pickles, hmmmm I don't know about that) and a large piece of bread - very very fresh yummy bread. Everything was good and we had leftovers for the next night. Your order is always ready when they say it will be. Staff is always pleasant and smiling. Really wished they delivered though! Ate here not too long ago while I went to go visit a friend. I had never been to Anthony's so decided to give it a shot. The first time we ordered from them we got a simple large cheese pizza. That they managed to do fairly right, and despite people saying "pizza is pizza" they really do a good job on being generous with the cheese and not leaving the top slathered in grease. Nice for a cheese slice fix. However my downside happened when I came the second time and ordered spaghetti. It was fairly cold out and the pizza slice wasn't gonna be enough to hold me over. So my buddy and I decided to get a bite from Anthony's. I chose the spaghetti and the initial presentation of it was standard fair for many pizza/hoagie places - salad, bread, and the spaghetti. Presentation looked decent so I had good hopes for my meal. Paid $11.25 for it. The woman who took my order though was a little snippy, but I took it with a grain of salt. When we got home I opened the lid to discover three very average sized meatballs.... Disappointment. They tasted like they were grocery store freezer brand and just tossed in a pan with some sauce. Bland. No flavor. And the actual pasta didn't do it any justice at all. I could toss some Prego sauce in a pan at home and make better meatballs then this place. The salad wasn't at all all that good, and if anything looked wilted. How do you mess up salad? All in all I'll probably be sticking with my local pizza place Angelo's pizza. At least their spaghetti is a large portion, with meatballs covering the entire container, a good sized salad and garlic breadsticks to boot. If you come here, just stick with their pizza or sandwiches, which looked decent. Don't go the pasta route unless you really want too. For $11.25 of that price you could go to your nearest grocery and make a brimming pot of spaghetti that will taste better than what this place had to offer. read more

Have been ordering from here for probably around 10 years now, and only recently discovered the secret to getting a good pizza here. Their standard pies that are available on the menu are nothing to write home about since identical pizzas are sold at every other pizza joint. However, if you order the "Grandma's pie" you'll wind up with a pizza that really swings. The drawback to this order is that it is more expensive than their normal pies and they will not always know what you're referring to when ordering Grandma's pie. Ordered chef salad and it was awesome! Salad is $10 but is full of meat, cheese, peppers, and onions. This isn't an average salad. I had the house Italian dressing which was excellent. One of my favorite items in the fried panzarotti. I am not a fan of the cheesesteaks, a lot of meat but it seems like lower quality meat with a not so good taste. read more

I live literally 5 minutes away from here. Ordered for the first time, waited a little over an hour for my food. After an hour & 10 mins we called to see if the order had left. We were told it was on its way out now and told "were sorry". About 45-50 minutes go by again and STILL no food. Called to cancel the order and ask for a refund. great pizza joint, nice employees, seems the choice of locals as many came in as we sat, quick service in spite of lunch rush. I got a slice of Sicilian cold, it was great. I also had a slice of buffalo chicken pizza, also great. the price was right and so was the food. I ordered a mushroom chicken cheese steak for dinner, a solid entry, the bread was fresh, chicken was not stringy and was consistent in seasoning, mushrooms were canned but I prefer canned on a cheese steak. pizza and steaks are street food and they make them great with a decent price, clean place and good atmosphere. read more

After reading both reviews on Google and here on yelp, I decided to try this location. I called up Anthony's for a carry out order and let them know that it was my first time ordering and would like a recommendation on which pizza was their most popular or which pizza they considered their specialty. They didn't know the answer and had no recommendation and proceeded to read me the full pizza menu. A little concerned for the employees inability to relay helpful information to new customers, I decided on a small basic Margherita pizza...to get a baseline. After showing up exactly when they said it would be ready, I waited almost 5 minutes to even be acknowledged and I was the only customer!! It took another 15 to receive my pie. While waiting, I observed one of the employees prepping toppings without wearing gloves or a hair net, frequently stopping to text on his phone. Not exactly the cleanest thing to touch while making food for other people. Without making this review any longer than it already is, I'll end by saying after one slice I threw out the pizza. The sauce tasted heavily of vinegar, the cheese was sparse and the spices muted. The crust was crisp but bland. Worse pizza restaurant I've had tried in a while. read more

They are right across the street from me so that gives them a star on its own. They offer delivery now so that probably makes more people happy. I do enjoy their pizza in a pinch. We get plain though because as soon as we start adding toppings it gets really messy. The toppings slide off. I like white pizza and I always thought theirs was good. Simply the best pizza around. Always fresh crust, which is the easiest part of the pizza to get wrong. While we usually get the plain pizza, the Buffalo chicken pizza is amazing, with real shredded chicken, not chopped up fried chicken like many places serve. Also, the fries are surprisingly good for a pizza place. read more

This saddens me, because I've been a customer for well over a decade. However service at this place has gone so far down hill, I cannot continue to support. Food regularly takes 45 minutes to be completed even for simple sandwiches, regularly comes out wrong, and often cold (for hot food, of course). They really don't seem to care either, which is also very sad. Used to really love it here, and still do enjoy the food once I finally get it. But after being beyond disappointed for the last 5-6 times I've ordered, I have to say I'll likely not return to my old favorite place. Ordered two steak sandwiches, one with cheese and one without. Got home, and both had cheese. My daughter is allergic to cheese and cannot have it. I called and was given a hard time about the mistake. I ordered another one without cheese. When I picked it up, the guy at the counter asked me for the other one. Since when does an establishment take food back once it goes out the door? I have never experienced such poor customer service. He made me pay for the corrected sandwich which was their mistake in the first place. I have not gone back since. Very sad, because the sandwiches are good. They need to learn how to give good service and retain good customers. This is not the way to treat people.
