For an appetizer we had whipped ricotta with blood orange balsamic glaze, a honey drizzle and parmesan shavings served with piping hot fresh baked bread, absolutely delicious. The Margherita pizza was another winner, cooked in a 900° wood fired oven the crust was crisp and crunchy, the San Marzano sauce and fresh mozzarella were excellent and the finishing touches of fresh basil and the most flavorful evolved I ever tasted made this one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. This is tough to write because the margarita pizza & garlic knots I got tonight were very good. It was a medium size pizza (they don't have large) & 7 knots for $30. Pricey but I don't mind paying for good food. What I do mind is the 3.5% credit card fee that says it's because of rising costs. That's what your price increase was for. I work for a very large, very popular credit card company in DE ....for 20+ years. Give me a break. The interchange isn't 3.5%. Do better than this. I just tried Pizzeria Manninos for the first time myself last night. My parents are avid fans. I liked the pizza, we tried the carlton, the margarita, and the argula & parma. My favorite was the argula & parma. All the ingredients seemed fresh and together were tasty. The star of the night in my opinion was the garlic knots, would definitely recommend trying some. Two things I thought were strange was the fact that they had no diet drinks at all and there isn't a hostess stand when you walk in. We asked if we could sit at the table by the window and were told it was fine so it is probably seat yourself, but if there is a sign for that it is not in a place I saw visible. A little shocked at the overall average review after visiting this cute little spot in Pitman! I came here with a co worker who lives in the area and we shared the salad pictured below and 2 pizzas (forgot to photo those!) The waitress who helped us was lovely super energetic and gave a ton of suggestions! The salad was good and fresh and the pizza was even better! We shared the margarita which was my fav and the short rib and it was also very good - meat was tender. The crust is thin and the pizzas are big enough to share we definitely had a lot of leftovers after ordering all three things. They have a brick oven and open kitchen so you know it's all fresh. Have you ever eaten in a place, and felt from the moment you walked in the door, you weren't welcomed? That's what it felt like when I walked into this place. I had been hearing great things about Pizzeria Manninos in Pitman. 4.5 out of 5 can't be bad, right? We walk in the place, and no one greets us. We asked the gentleman at the stove can we sit anywhere and he says yes. After we sat down, a waitress comes up to us, and tells us we can't sit there because of reservations. And she asked us if we want to sit in the back, where it's kind of crowded. I didn't want to do this, so after dancing around a bit, we finally found a seat near the front that wasn't around that many people but was directly behind a family. Mind you, no one else came in after we came in and the place was practically empty, except for the back. So there was that. The waitress asked us if we wanted drinks. She puts what we first thought was ice water, but was in fact, glasses with only ice in them. Then, she asked us what we wanted to drink. We asked what she had. She said, lemonade, sparkling water, and Coke products. I'm thinking fresh lemonade. No, she brings out a bottle of Coca-Cola products lemonade ($4). The sparkling water was a small Pellegrino ($4). We asked for a half sausage, half plain pizza. ($26) Toppings were minuscule, almost an afterthought. A dusting of sausage that offered no flavor. At most brick oven places, you get slices of sausage. I couldn't taste the sauce. Not the best flavor wise. The crust was good, though. I've included pictures. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant before in my life. One of the cooks kept staring at us while we ate, it was strange. He finally stopped after a while. Between him, and the waitress being weird when we walked in, it just made everyone uncomfortable I probably won't be visiting this place again. Love Mannino's pizza. True Neapolitan pizza in an authentic Italian made wood fired oven. My wife had the BBQ chicken pizza which she liked but wish it was cooked more. My family and I left a brewery and were in the mood for pizza so we found Mannino's on Yelp and the pizza looked outstanding. We arrived around 8pm on a Saturday night and it was very busy inside. As soon as you walk in you can see the beautiful wood-fired pizza oven. We were seated pretty quickly as we only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. Luckily we decided to order as soon as we sat down because the group at the table next to us ended up being seated before we were but their server wasn't back to take their order for what seemed like 15 minutes after we placed our order. Within what seemed like 10 minutes of placing our order it seemed like our 2 pies were ready. We went with a Diavolona (with pepperoni and long hots) and a Margherita. The pizza came out looking beautiful and it tasted just as good as it looked. The san marzano tomato sauce and fresh basil were perfect on both pies. The bottom of the pie was not as crisp as I'd have liked it but the flavor was there and the dough tasted great. We were very happy with our first experience at Mannino's and will be back again if/when we're in the area. read more

My go-to local pizzeria. I swear by their Margherita and everyone who visits us also visits Mannino's. During the warmer months, we love outdoor dining and bringing our pup with us. Our usual is the Margherita and an additional pie which is sufficient for 2-3 people. My ranking of the pizzas I've tried (from best to okay): - Margherita (obvs) - Vongole - Porcini - Pesto - Cremini - Arrabbiata - Arugula & Parma (not bad but nothing to write home about) We've tried a handful of the appetizer section but nothing of note - cheesecake is very solid though. I ordered takeout from Manninos in Pitman. I ordered a Margherita Pizza and wood fired wings. When I got home I opened the wings and they were so burnt you couldn't eat the skin so I tried to take the skin off and the chicken was raw. I call to talk to a manager and they tell me a manager is not in that they would call me the next day. I never got a phone call the next day so I emailed them as well with a picture and still nothing. I deserve my money back. Who in their right mind would serve these? In my younger years, the Saturday after a Friday night concert would be an epic quest for greasy food, a coffee coolatta, my dignity, and Tylenol. As an older version of that guy, with children, I found myself today searching for greasy food and Tylenol...not due to alcohol, just due to the aging process. While out for a lovely afternoon of running errands, my date and I stopped at Mannino's, searching for something delicious to fill the pit in our stomach which came from realizing the money we paid for 7 of us to see Green Day. Time for the review, FFS. Flair: situated at the end of the busy, quaint Broadway in Pitman, Mannino's plays the perfect part of old-school pizzeria. It has the tile, exposed wood, and decor you would think of if you closed your eyes and pictured a typical pizzeria. That's not a bad thing at all...it plays a wonderful role and sets the ambiance very well. Outside dining is available, but given that it's just a hobo shuffle away from the tramp steamer that is a NJ Transit train route, you may wanna keep the meal inside. Food: in discussing our options, my date and I decided to go the route of delayed self-flagellation and ordered the short rib tater tots. You know....grease. We also opted for the pesto pizza. A quick aside here about the food and pizzas....the menu is refreshing and the food looked absolutely delicious. Yes, the pies are small. But they are authentic and more reflective of European pizza than what we are accustomed to here. The selections for pizzas were inventive. They were fun. They were curious...but engaging. We went for pesto for 5 reasons; our children. Not one of them would eat any item on this pie, with the exception of the crust, so we figured this was our only shot. Because I thought that arugula doesn't count as a veggie when it's on top of a pizza, I also ordered the bufala board for the tomato and salad. Come for the salted, cured meat...stay for the nutrition. The apps came out almost simultaneously. The tater tots were terrific. Obviously, I didn't even have time to snap a picture, unless people wanted to see a dizzying array of 15 fingers. The cheese was melted so well (and not cheese whiz) that the edges were perfectly burnt. Terrific. The bufala board was pretty standard. It wasn't great, it wasn't awful, it wasn't interesting other than wanting to eat. Felt more like The Might Ducks 3...content to ride on its reputation but a little overplayed with the storyline. The prosciutto was nice, the tomato was fresh, the balsamic was balsamic. It worked for what I needed it to do. The pizza was....outstanding. I prefer a much thinner crust, and this pie delivered. Nice and crispy on the edges, chewy underneath, light enough to not feel like you just ingested a cannonball after 2 slices. Yes, again...the pies are more medium than large. However, the quality and taste more than make up for that small setback. And again, this is a more authentic size. The sauce and pesto offered such a nice compliment to the cheese. It was a terrific pie, and just what the belly needed. Service: pretty okay. As this was a Saturday afternoon and there were a few tables and only 1 server, we didn't mind the gaps in communication. The kid was friendly, he tried hard enough, and he knew when to laugh at my date's ridiculous comments. Not gonna knock them too hard on this. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot. I look forward to returning and sampling some of the other pizzas offered. Next time, however, I'll be sure to catch more than 4 hours sleep the night before. read more

My buddy told me about this place a couple of months ago and we finally got there--what a find! This may be the best pizza I've found in South Jersey. We've had a Traditional Pizza with long hots, and the Margherita Pizza with eggplant and long hots (highly recommend their eggplant topping). The garlic knots are the best I've had outside New York! The owner, Vito, sat and chatted with us for a while--very nice guy, from NY too. He has a great story about how the pizzeria started up (he owns a restaurant down the road as well). It's BYOB (they do sell limited half-bottles of wine as well), and there are two breweries next door where you can fill up growlers, but they don't seem to be open very often. Sometimes I get so caught up in convenience that I become too lazy to venture too far from my neighborhood... It was a nice night out, and the sidewalk tables at the restaurants while driving through Pitman were calling my name... Well, not really. I'm not a fan of dining on public sidewalks... So I parked and walked into Mannino's Pizzeria for a meal.. First thought.... I forgot that there was such a thing as a clean pizzeria!!Seriously... But that's another topic for another day... Nice, modern Italian interior.. An huge brick oven that's visible from most of the seats. and plenty of tables that were spaced out in a way that nobody felt cramped or that their spaced was being invaded.. I put in an order for loaded tater tots, and a pepperoni pizza with half sausage.... The tots were fried and finished in the oven with a couple cheeses and bacon.. The pizza was very good... Really good ingredients used, and the crust was thin, but not overcooked, and able to hold the toppings without having to use two hands to make sure nothing winds up in your lap... I wish every pizzeria used top quality ingredients and had an environment like this one does.. Especially since they're charging not much less than this place... Pizzeria Manninos is a lovely spot located along the South Broadway, the main street traveling directly through Pittman. The decor inside the restaurant is lovely and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I decided to go with a classic Margherita pizza. The pizza is Heaven on Earth. There's a beautiful char on the base and crust. The super fresh cheese is perfectly melted across the rich, flavorful tomato sauce. This is certainly among the best wood-fired brick oven pizzas I've enjoyed. I don't make it to South Jersey often, but next time I do, I am stopping here again to experience the bliss of their perfect pizza. read more

My reason for the one star is the fact that not only have the prices gone up on their menu, which I have tolerated and still continued to order, but they are now making the customer pay a 3.5% service charge for using a credit card!!! Walking around Pitman and came across this place. We ordered the garlic knots which were delicious as they have roasted garlic, basil and evoo. We also ordered the Porcini Pizza which has mushrooms, roasted garlic, mozzarella, basil, arugula, and extra virgin truffle oil. Service was great. Very attentive. But the food wasn't great at all. The brisket panini was actually just peppers and onions. There was hardly any brisket. And it was just like warm. Then we ordered the brisket tater tots. Couldn't find the brisket and my husband walked by the kitchen and everything looked to be cooked before hand and just heated up when someone ordered something. The tater tots were soggy. I absolutely love this place. We've only ever had pizza here, but the last time I remember having pizza this good, was sitting in Italy. The dough is delicious, light, airy and crisp, and the bottom of the crust is cooked perfectly in their pizza oven, as you can see in the picture. The ingredients are fresh and the variety of pizza options are plentiful. My only regret is not being able to come here enough! I've only had the pizza both times we went, but heard great things about the other food and will update the review once I try more. If you want over priced, mediocre pizza (at best) then this is the place. Prices were wrong from website to what we actually paid and when we addressed this they had no explanation and the server (who was horrible) just shrugged his shoulders. $8 for extra garlic on a white pizza, laughable really. My gf ordered a pizza that was not what she asked for, we stated this as well and were met with an "this is what the cook considers that pizza". Will not go back, would not recommend to anyone. Do you like Brick Oven Pizza? Do you like Fresh ingredients? Then this place is a go to! It's actually my second visit for a take out pie. The first pie I got was the Traditional. This time I got the Margherita. Both pies have the most tender, thin, slightly crisp, flavorful crust with delicious San Marzano Tomatoes. The latter has fresh Mozzarella. I am a bit salt sensitive (no nothing is over salty) so I prefer the fresh mozzarella. The price for these pies are $13 & $14 plus tax. The standard pricing I have found in NJ for any restaurant that does Brick Oven Pizza. The waitstaff is always friendly & my Pie is made & baked right in front of me. 10 minutes! The Pizza chef (owner?) always says hello & thank you. I can't believe in all the years I've lived in the County I haven't stopped in here.
