We needed to book movers at the last minute and was happy with the quick response I received from Dena. She answered all of my questions and had me confident that I wouldn't regret booking their services right away. She helped me figure out different packing materials we may need and was honest about the things we could probably get elsewhere for cheaper if we wanted to go that route. Love that I didn't feel like I would be getting upsold like crazy. On the day of, our two movers were on schedule and packed up our entire 2,000 sqft home and organized it beautifully in our pod within 4 hours. They truly did a great job, were super efficient, and asked questions as needed to make sure everything was done to our specifications. What a lucky find on a Google search! A very reliable and service oriented company. We were moving our recent college grad out of their rental house and had living room furniture that we were unable to sell. I was looking for Charities (Salvation Army, Goodwill etc) with free furniture donation pick-up. Turns out I would have to pay them to pick up the donated furniture. So I decided to try and hire a local moving company to remove the furniture and take it 2 miles down the road to Goodwill. I searched Yelp but nothing came up. I did a Google search and "Anthony's Moving and Storage" came up with an office address right near the house. I contacted them at 10:30 a.m. and explained the situation. Dena was awesome, and very empathetic as we explained we were trying to donate the furniture etc. In fact, she had a local Charity that she worked with that would probably take the furniture. She said she needed to see the furniture first. Explained that we needed the furniture out within 5 days. So she took time in between other appointments and came over to take pictures. Dena made a plan, brought over her own pick-up truck with a helper and moved the furniture herself in 2 trips! The living room furniture was out of the house by 2:00 that afternoon. Less than 4 hours after my initial call. Absolutely thrilled that Dena acted so quickly and take the burden off our shoulders. Highly recommend their Services! Highly recommend!! Moving is always such a drag but with Anthonys Moving it was quick and painless. Dena the owner is absolutely amazing and cares about her clients. I felt comfortable right from the start. When her crew showed up, they worked hard, very nice men, got everything done swiftly and we had the whole 2 bed apartment moved to our new 3 bedroom house before noon when the guys started at 8am. We used Anthony's moving service last month to move to our new house. The move went OK, there were quite a few issues : they didn't bring a big enough truck to move all of our stuff, we had to undertake several trips in our cars to move them, none of the furniture was assembled properly, we had to fix them afterwards, there were missing screws in some of them, and we had to get news ones, a lot of furniture had wraps on and we had to remove them... just to name a few. We have moved frequently within Southern California and never have we come across a moving company that was this bad. The only good thing about them is they were available in short notice, now we know why. read more

Dena and Anthony's Movers came highly recommended from several RE agents and friends. It was our first move in over 20 years and you can imagine the chaos. Dena was an absolute professional with the best personality in any service industry. She started advicing us weeks before the move including exchange of photos and personal visit to house with boxes and supplies to assess prior to moving date. We had two moving days due to amount of large items even though we had spent weeks reducing overall stuff. The actual moves were efficient, well organized and relatively stress free. There isn't a strong enough recommendation to get across how incredible this company is. I am 61 years old and needless to say I have moved several times. Anytime I have used a moving company in the past it was very nonpersonal. From the first moment I was interviewed by Dena Cohen (the owner of Anthony's Moving Service) I felt like I had somebody who was treating my wife and I like family. She did everything to make sure we were informed about the entire process which included how to properly pack. She did everything she could do to make sure that we were not wasting space or money by buying unnecessary packing materials. As we got closer to the move date, we started getting concerned we were falling behind so we called Dena and the next day she showed up with more boxes and physically helped us pack is much as we could. On the moving day her crew showed up and were as equally friendly and helpful as Dena. About an hour into the move Dena showed up personally to make sure the move was going according to plan, physically lifting boxes and wrapping furniture to ensure there would be no damage. Her team was so thorough (they even shrink-wrapped a plastic storage cabinet in the backyard). You can tell Dena is a genuinely compassionate person by watching her interact with her workers. One can only hope to have such a generous and caring boss as Dena is with her guys. And because of this, that care and compassion comes across from all of her movers. Her crew worked for a solid 12 hours taking minimal breaks with a smile on their face. Dena provided what we should expect from her company and her crew on our moving day. After speaking with Dena, you certainly understood how proud she was of managing this company. Her crew came in and went right to work. They wrapped up the banisters to protect them, as well as protecting the furniture that was upstairs. Anything that was not previously well packed, her crew packed, wrapped, and taped to minimize any potential harm to our belongings. Let me start this off by saying I reached out to Dena on February 24th in the evening to schedule a move on February 29th. Short notice is putting it lightly in the moving world but she didnt hesitate to offer me a kind word of support and a promise that she'll find a way to make it work. Which I truly appreciated because my father is was in the hospital with pneumonia during this already difficult transition, so you can have some perspective to how overwhelmed I already was. She told me to give her the night and that she'd move things around and then call me in the morning with a time. She called me the morning of the 25th and let me know that she fit me into the afternoon on Saturday, and I could not have been more grateful. The movers, Tim, and George, arrived promptly at 12:30 PM on Saturday and began loading the items carefully, and with respect to the items safety in mind. Especially my dads baby (his Flat Screen TV) haha. They completed the job of my 2 bedroom 2 bath upstairs apartment to my 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath apartment ground level in 6.75 hours and the hourly rate was very fair, in comparison to other movers I have used in the past. I was quite pleased with the entire experience and would definitely recommend Dena, and specifically Tim and George for any move you need done in a timely manner. Tim and George were very polite and hardworking and had already finished a job that morning before coming straight over to me in the afternoon so I appreciated their energy and hustle they still gave with completing my move. Moving is never easy, especially alone, and not having my father with me weighed heavy on me, and so I am truly thankful Dena was able to come through for me and schedule me in on such short notice. She even brought over some extra packing materials to me on the Thursday before to help me accomplish the rest of my packing needs which I used every bit of to finish and have everything ready to move Saturday. So, once again, thank you Dena and Tim and George, for your promptness, professionalism and even the extra kindness and compassion show regarding my circumstances I was going through personally, aside from the move. Not only was Dena Cohen attentive and easy to work with, her thorough knowledge and expertise in all aspects of moving and her detailed explanation of what we need and what to expect was comforting and made me feel at ease. My crew of Jorge and Em were absolutely outstanding in packing and caring for my furnishings. They were quick, efficient and took extreme care with my items -- things like family heirlooms (my Mother's Grandfather Clock for example) and so many other items. They showed up on time and worked diligently through my whole 4-hour booking. I was very impressed that they told me when they were going to take their lunch break (off the clock). This post is a little late. As I have said in a prior post, Dena and her guys are absolutely the best! I have been using this company for 15 years! You can see a prior post I made 5 years ago. Anyhow this is a family company they will treat you like family! Frankie and Ronnie were awesome! Hilarious and made the process very enjoyable. Moving is a tough job especially when you live up three flights of stairs with no elevator! Make the experience great for these guys! Have drinks on hand, offer to buy them lunch and give a great tip! They are saving you a ton of time, and physical labor! I've never had any issues, everything is wrapped in front of me, if there are questions they ask, nothing is ever broken, and they even offer to fix things for you. So I clicked my ruby red slippers and ordered a house to drop on yelp just like OZ. They explained that much of yelp is computer generated and mistakes happen......lol Really that many times a good rating is dumped....or are they just not willing to pay you for advertising? Called literally the day before we moved and they had an opening. They were 30 minutes late at the origin destination but that was okay with me considering the last-minute booking. Other then that, everything was great, and no complaints. I was advised of a 4 hour minimum so if you have a short/small move this may not be the best bet - but the rate is very reasonable(lowest of the 5 or so companies we called) and might still beat competing offers. read more

My review is based on my experience, however, Deanna was not aware of the issues and expressed her concerns which is why I updated my review. I am willingly to give them another shot when the time comes and am sure my experience will be better. **UPDATE** Well this company was recommended by my realtor and after reading all the reviews I decided to use them. We had three gentlemen help us with our move from one house to another house literally half a mile away. We had all of our stuff boxed up and ready to go. All they had to do was take apart the furniture and load it up. It took over 9 hours to complete and that was with my wife and I even moving some of the boxes ourselves. We were quoted around $900 I believe and it came out to around $1300. Not only that, but after their second trip I went back to our house to make sure everything was packed up. Nope. There was still a tv mounted, wine chiller in the house, boxes upstairs and stuff in the garage. You would think they would have come back and got the rest no problem, right? Not the case. They gave us attitude and said they weren't going to come back for the rest of our stuff. After a while they came back for the rest. As if that wasn't enough, LOTS of our furniture was broken during the move. Our bed wasn't put back together correctly and ended up breaking because of that. Lots of our drawers are broken to the point where we can't open them anymore. I would not recommend this company to anyone or at least the workers who "helped" us. Very disappointed to say the least. read more
