My husband and I got a Husky puppy in the summer of 2015 on a total whim and had no idea what we were in for! The first trainer we met with suggested he may not be the dog for us and that we may need to consider giving him up for adoption - this left us feeling very confused and sad because while we agreed he had some behaviors we didn't love, we also saw a sweet side of him. We stumbled upon Anthony and Camp Canine training simply because we wanted a place to be able to board Dash. After a trial run at Camp Canine, they suggested additional training and we decided we would give the training team a try! The first day of training resulted in a phone call and video that should have left us feeling discouraged, but the partnership and optimism of the team at Camp Canine, and Anthony in particular, made us realize we had chosen the right place. It took a couple weeks before Dash stopped crying when we dropped him off but I'll never forget the day he ran up to Anthony, tail wagging, and couldn't wait to spend the day with him. Anthony helped Dash become more confident and obedient all at the same time; he helped Dash to be comfortable with all types of people, making the random strangers touch even welcomed! At the end of the day when we would pick Dash up, Anthony always had a great recap of what they had worked on, and would spend a couple minutes talking with us or showing us their latest successes. Anthony helped us to go from being concerned about our dog to bringing out the sweet side in him so that we can confidently have him around other dogs and other people. Anthony was honest with us about what needed to be worked through with Dash, but it was obvious the whole time that Anthony cared a lot about our dog and was truly committed to ensuring we had a great puppy that we could enjoy being around again! We often find ourselves saying "I wonder what Anthony would think of that" or "Dash, want to go see Anthony again?" - he's a household name and we couldn't be more thankful for his partnership with us, and commitment to our dog! read more

I have known Anthony for years, as my Labrador was a weekly guest at Camp Canine for 9 years. I had always seen Anthony working with dogs but by the time I got to know him my lab was an adult and fairly well behaved. When my previous Lab went to Dog Heaven and had to start over with a puppy, I enrolled him in Anthony's Doggie Day School the minute he had all his vaccinations. My pup goes twice a week and spends the entire day with Anthony and his talented team. Anthony sends me videos from the beach, from the park, from the bank, wherever he takes my pup. When I pick up Tonka at the end of the day, Anthony takes time to discuss what was learned, what I can work on, and ways I can further reinforce the training. My puppy is only 6 months old and I'm able to take him confidently to restaurants, hotels, and stores and know he will behave. Just this past weekend he went to Palm Springs and sat quietly in an outdoor cafe while my friend and I had lunch. And he's 6 MONTHS OLD! And a LABRADOR! Unbelievable for such a high energy dog. The other thing I love about Anthony is he wants dogs to be dogs. As much as he stresses impulse control and discipline, he still loves to have fun and let your dog play and be a dog when it's not necessary to be under strict control. People who are good with animals aren't always the best with people but Anthony nails it on both fronts. I would gladly forego fancy meals, designer clothes, or expensive jewelry and spend that money on my dog instead. Every dime I've invested in Tonka's training with Anthony has paid off ten-fold. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more

My husband and I have gone through countless trainers with our 85 pound English Bulldog. We've even been on the Dog Whisperer with Ceasar Milan who took our dog with him for two months. That should give you an indication of the level of intensity that we were facing with our Bulldog. Having been through some traumatic times with our dog's aggression issues, I quickly learned that a dog's issues are not isolated to the dog itself. A dog's issues, especially when you are dealing with aggression, are 100% a family issue and requires the trainer to understand not only the dog, but the relationship between the dog and its owners and other family members who come into regular contact with the dog. Not only does Anthony understand that every dog does not fit into the same training mold and/or methods, he also understands that dog training involves a sensitivity to and understanding of the dog's owners. To put it another way, Anthony not only speaks dog, but maybe even more importantly, speaks "human" which is not something you will find in most trainers. In addition, Anthony's confidence and ability to handle aggressive dogs and his extensive knowledge of dog behavior makes him one of the best dog trainers that we've ever had and that's saying a lot considering all the dog trainers that we've gone through. I highly recommend Anthony as your go-to trainer when dealing with any level of dog training and/or dog issues. He's worth every dollar plus some! read more

Amazing results in 4 training sessions with Anthony! What a change in both our 75 lb. 9 month old white shepherd Sailor and how we communicate with her. Still just a very large puppy, when she saw something she wanted or we returned to a place she had fun, she became extremely excited, would pull at the leash and lunge at other dogs or people. Often times yelping in a loud pitch. This was not inviting behavior to people or dogs. Anthony showed us that Sailor needs to work for what she wants by doing what we want her to do. Already he has taught us the skills to get her in a calm state and has made taking walks so enjoyable! Recently our young grand kids came to visit we used these techniques and show them how to get her in a calm state as well. This worked so well our little 6 year old was able to handle her when we went for walks. We were all amazed at this change. You can see that Anthony loves what he does and almost immediately the dog learns to respect and love him. We have more sessions planned with Anthony, my goal is to be able to take Sailor anywhere and also to have her off leash and be confident that she will respond to what I want her to do! Anthony teaches you how to communicate with your dog in a special way. We have more sessions scheduled with Anthony. Will send updates on our progress. Highly recommend Anthony, you will see results. read more

Anthony is quite simply one of the finest individuals I have encountered in my almost 75 years. He is a dog trainer, yes, but oh so much more. He has taken our King Charles Cavalier puppy at two months old, and has molded him into the most loving, obedient, eager to learn dog I have ever had. Charlie is now one year old plus a couple of weeks, and a joy. He is intelligent, and when we mention Anthony's name Charlie goes into major excitement mode. Anthony picks up Charlie for a day of play, learning and work with other dogs he is working with. Charlie is now completely socialized with dogs much, much bigger than he, and is a confident companion to any of Anthony's other charges. When they (Anthony and half a dozen dogs of all sizes) go to the beach for hours of play, Anthony sends us via smart phone videos of Charlie with his pals. Anthony can take Charlie for a few hours to a few weeks when we travel....Charlie actually would prefer we stay away much longer....he has such a grand life in the company of Anthony. Anthony Sorosky is professional, always on time, and truly a "dog whisperer". Anthony even installed around the complete perimeter of our yard plastic netting we had purchased. Plainly said, Anthony is the best service provider I have ever met, The service happens to be incredible dog training . Geoff G. read more

I can't say enough great things about Anthony. My husband and I brought our boxer, Lola, to see Anthony for 2-3 days a week for about a month. There were a few things we wanted to address: Lola doesn't like to stay in her crate, Lola jumps on people and knocks them over, and Lola doesn't listen to mom. It was definitely worth the investment. After working with Anthony, Lola was able to stay in her crate for a couple of hours at a time without any issue. This was a huge relief to us as we can now go to dinner without worrying what she's up to, and it's safer for her since she is no longer trying to escape the crate (she literally demolished 5 crates in the 5 years we've had her). Anthony also gave me a lot of feedback on how to better communicate with Lola so she wouldn't "blow me off" as he would say. And we worked on some training tools to prevent her from jumping on people, which has definitely helped for when we have guests over. I was really shocked to see what he could do in just a few weeks. She truly is a different dog now and our friends and family have been really impressed, as well. I highly recommend Anthony - he's the best in Santa Barbara! read more

We rescued our pit bull Penny a year ago. She's great with people, but uncomfortable and scared of other dogs. I walk her a lot but would always avoid other dogs. I don't have any information on her past so I wasn't sure how she'd react. I met a guy who had a really calm pit, at the Mission field. He said I could have Penny come up to him with no problem. So...I did. Penny snapped at him but didn't touch him. His dog just looked at her... didn't react at all! I was amazed and asked him if he'd always been like that. He said not until Anthony worked with him.... he gave Anthony rave reviews so I decided to make the call. Anthony has been amazing with Penny. It's only been a couple of months and he's already got her walking with a pack of dogs and playing with them too. He sensed that she just needed to be around nice dogs to learn to not be afraid. She is already so much better. Now, with the tools that Anthony has taught me... I no longer avoid dogs and Penny is getting much more comfortable. Anthony works magic with dogs.... and their owners too! I would highly recommend him. He is a natural dog person... and the nicest guy ever! read more

I can't say enough good things about Anthony and his ability to train our beloved dogs. I brought my dog Dexter (100 lb black lab/rott weiler mix) to Anthony because he would cry every time I left the house and damage the fence trying to get out. He was also impossible to walk on a leash amongst other hyperactive issues. In the first training session, watching Anthony work with Dex, I realized that I was reinforcing his bad behavior by not giving him the firm & consistent boundaries that he needed. Anthony had Dex behaving in a way that I thought was impossible, and almost immediately. It was unreal. When my wife and I were getting ready to have our daughter, we had Anthony come into the house to assess how Dex would be with an infant. He brought in a very realistic doll, wrapped it in a blanket and played the sounds of a baby crying from his phone. Dexter's attention was peaked by the crying baby. Anthony then gave him a series of commands and modeled the tone of voice and techniques we should use to handle Dex around the baby. Anthony is just awesome at his job, there is no need to look further for a dog trainer. read more

I've been having issues with my dog Maddie for awhile now -- she was extremely anxious/scared around other dogs and would bark hysterically at them even if they were far away. The minute she saw a dog, I knew it would cause a problem and we would have to leave the area. A friend had recommended Anthony to me and I couldn't be happier about the results from just 1 training session. At the beginning of the session, Maddie was barking uncontrollably for the first 30 minutes around any dog and by the time we finished the session, she was laying down next to 5 other dogs, not bothered at all. We were able to get her to the point where we could walk by other dogs and she wasn't phased. I can't wait to continually work with Maddie at dog parks and this was only possible because of Anthony. I'm so grateful for his coaching and I will definitely be going back! He gave me so much confidence to be able to reassure Maddie that other dogs won't hurt her, and ultimately this will greatly enhance her quality of life. Go see Anthony asap! read more

We recently rescued a Cane Corso Mastiff named Harley who had not been socialized and has some aggression issues. He also weighs 120 pounds so the issues concerned us deeply. After one session with Anthony we knew we had found the correct trainer. Anthony brought the issues out immediately and has been teaching us how to properly deal with them. We have only been working with him for a few weeks now but in that time that transformation has been so unbelievably awesome to watch. Anthony brought over some other dogs which totally stressed me out but by the end of that session it was clear Harley just wanted to play and that made my hear soar! I am no longer scared of my dog and he is learning to just enjoy his life as a dog without the stresses that he had before. We still have a long road to go down but are confident that with Anthony by our side we are going to end up with an amazingly loving dog. I would highly recommend Anthony to anyone that has dog issues be them small or large. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Anthony!!!! read more

Anthony the dog trainer and pet psychologist! Our dear charcoal lab Norman was a complicated pup, we called him our "special lad", full of anxiety, terrified of everthing and everyone. Norman bonded immediately with Anthony and would eagerly head off for his lessons. Anthony's training is unique and individualized to each of his dogs. In the case of Norman and his nervousness he would walk him along State St. to interact with strangers and take him to construction sites to get him comfortabe with unfamiliar noises. His enthusiasm and genuine passion for his job is wonderful to see and the evidence is obvious in his results! I have to admit that we love Anthony so much that Norman still pops in occcasionally to spend the day playing with his friends, walking on the beach and having a little tune up now and then. As they say " proof is in the pudding" and Anthony certainly proved his worth. Dog training is never cheap but well worth every penny if you have a dog trainer like Anthony! read more

I wish I could give Anthony 10 stars! Six months ago I adopted a seven year old dog from a rescue who was extremely aggressive towards other dogs. I was told she could never be around other dogs. She had been severely attacked as a puppy and as a result, spend her whole life chasing other dogs off before they got too close. I believed it was possible to correct this and found Anthony online. In less than two weeks and only about four sessions of working with Anthony, my dog was riding around in a car with other dogs, sitting next to them, swimming with them and had completely transformed her aggression. I could NOT believe it and am so deeply grateful to Anthony for helping me and my dog. I can now take her to the beach and on walks without worrying or avoiding every dog we see. I think she is much happier too! I continue to work with Anthony and my dog LOVES him! She goes crazy when he comes to get her and comes back a happy, well-behaved, good dog. I highly recommend Anthony! read more

Raksha, our german shepherd, went from beguiling puppy to wild woman in six months. We worried that we had taken on more dog than we could handle. I did some research and one particular review helped me decide to call Anthony. Thank goodness I did. Anthony came to our house and was a hit from the outset. His confidence and kind demeanor, his knowledge and innate ability all worked to establish his quick acceptance in our family pack. I couldn't quite believe how readily all four of my dogs became his friend. That first day turned things around for us. Anthony gave us lots of tips and guidance and demonstrated ways to curb bad behavior and reward good. He took her for a day and worked on socializing her with his own dog posse. He introduced her to State Street and taught her what was expected of a "coffee shop dog". Anthony showed us what a well behaved dog can be like and gave us the tools and confidence to raise one. read more

We asked Anthony to work with us to have our dog, Teddy, be more comfortable around skateboarders and strangers. Teddy has always lunged and barked at skateboarders and we've been unable to improve this behavior. In a one hour session, Anthony had him standing next to skateboarders and becoming more relaxed in these situations! To be honest, I was not thrilled that Anthony uses negative reinforcement (citronella spray -- so not even that negative!) but the improvement we've seen in Teddy's behavior with the trade-off between a reward vs punishment has been wonderful! We are looking forward to using the training tips Anthony taught us to help our dog be relaxed in more situations. Thank you Anthony for your help! read more

Anthony is an amazing trainer. He has the wisdom and common sense to really understand what works with dogs. He has an amazing feel for what they'll respond to. He's kind, compassionate and totally "gets" what a particular dog needs! I've rescued Pit Bulls for years, and I've always done my own training with great results. This last Pittie I rescued (Owen) was VERY dominant and a bit of a bully with other dogs. I knew I had to socialize him with other dogs, outside of my pack. Anthony was brilliant with training techniques, tools a his general expertise and getting a desired behavior. I'd recommend him HIGHLY!!! read more

Anthony was a lifesaver for us. We were feeling in over our heads with our newly adopted high energy puppy and Anthony gave us the attention and guidance we needed to turn things around. After just one session and then the ability to apply what we learned afterwards on our own we are so relieved and happy with the outcome. I was impressed at how Anthony had a special ability to target training towards our specific dogs needs. I'm sure we will be calling Anthony again and in the meantime we are incredibly grateful for his help. read more

Anthony really helped us with a dog whom we rescued and was clearly possessive around food. We love this dog dearly and didn't want give up on him, but behaving this way was out of the question especially with young children. Anthony came over several times, assessed the dog's behavior accurately and each time Anthony left, he gave us concrete and relatively easy training techniques to employ to help our dog. Within a few sessions, the problem was completely, and we are SO grateful because this dog is a great dog. read more

A few week ago Anthony came to my house to help me out with my two dogs. Before contacting Anthony I had tried reading on how to deal with aggressive dogs and nothing seemed to work. After the session with Anthony both of my dogs have improved so much. I'm so thankful that my friend referred me to him. It has made going on walks and having people over much less stressful and more enjoyable. I'm so grateful for Anthony's expert advise. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family! read more

Anthony is the only trainer I would trust. He has helped me many times when other trainers in town told me my dog was not trainable and should be put down for her aggressive behaviors. He has changed the way my dog behaves. Now I can take her to the beach and have her off leash. She walks nicely on leash and doesn't get aggressive towards other dogs anymore. She loves him and he has changed my life and hers. I am so thankful I found Anthony. read more
