I cannot begin to explain the amount of relief from anxiety training my dogs with Ricky has brought me. No amount of therapy could touch how I felt previously. I have learned patience, clear communication (with my dogs), and appreciation of the minds ability to change after years and years of ingrained unwanted behaviors. Ricky does not sell a one size fits all package - each of my dogs are VERY different, and while the fundamental approaches and concepts in training are the same - the method and timing in which we applied and reinforced these were vastly different. Ricky is able to connect with two leggers and four leggers alike - he gives clear feedback to dogs and human and uses metaphors that we humans understand (driving the speed limit and getting speeding tickets haha) on how the concepts of his approach effects dog behavior. I couldn't be happier. I am humble and I know I need to continue management (and one of my dogs I am holding to higher standard so we are going to continue our own sessions based on what I have learned) but my dogs are completely different. I'm getting complimented by family, friends, and people on walks - impressed with how well behaved my dogs are. I smile and tell them "thank you it's lots of continued hard work" and move along. This morning in particular we walked during trash pick up, had lots of people distractions, and both dogs stayed heeled and attentive to me on their separate walks. I had already checked out the website and decided on the accommodation. Malone suggested the 2nd floor maybe better for 1st time guests. Not as much activity as ground floor w/other guests checking them out, new neighbors lol. She explained a couple of other things that may make their stay more comfortable, things i hadn't considered. I'm getting new flooring and my existing floor isn't level, not conducive to plank, already one of them had walked on the float :( As the day unfolded the weather & industrial fans helping we are able to stay home. Good thing since one of them decided to do a walkabout. I called to cancel. Fully expecting to pay the nominal cancel fee but Malone said "oh no! You're fine" did i mention she's lovely? She said it was an emergency thing and she was glad we'd all be staying home, much more comfortable & less stressful for the cats. I have only ever heard good things, going all the way back to their original location on the Eastside. No question, if i ever need to board the kids, that's where they're going. After a Rover appointment canceled our Thanksgiving arrangements, we contacted Ruff Ranch in desperation. Ruff Ranch is located off the 154 just before Los Olivos. It's in a beautiful, ranch setting. While we needed to have a free trial stay first, we took half the day off on a Friday, dropped Bruce off and had a nice lunch in Solvang. The facilities are spacious and perfectly clean with zero odor. All the personnel were happy and friendly, as were the dogs. We were skeptical at first when they said they would put Bruce in a group with older, mellower dogs. When we returned, they said he did great and even made some friends. My wife and I were both shocked and pleased. Ruff Ranch was on our way to a Northern California Thanksgiving stay. He boarded for 3 nights and we included the pre-pickup bath. At pickup, he was happy, squeaky clean, nails trimmed with zero issues reported. We are thankful and relieved to have a place to board Bruce in the future with people that really know and love dogs - and it showed in our dog's demeanor at pickup. They also offer obedience training, which I believe is how they can so quickly tailor an optimal setting and experience for your dog, and get them adjusted and safe. Ruff Ranch even offers a shuttle pickup service from SB. We are very relieved that we have a reliable and comfortable boarding solution for our dog in the future; I can't recommend The Ruff Ranch enough.

Completely negligent operation at Ruff Ranch as our dog could have died had I not been home with him or preoccupied and was not closely monitoring him.

I booked 15 days of cat care on her impersonal website, and when I checked back a day later, all of my requests had been accepted. Five days before my European travel, however, I got an email from Severine saying Snoopy's couldn't care for my cats because she had a problem with "the sitter." I guess there's only one, since I didn't request anyone in particular, and apparently she has no back-up. Severine was not at all sensitive to my situation. She did not offer to step in to care for my cats, and she left me in a total panic trying to find a trustworthy cat sitter five days before a two week trip. Totally unprofessional, or perhaps just evidence of a business that is on its last legs. Trust it at your peril.

As a pet sitter, I think they should do things the way I want as I had specific needs and directions for my pets. Mica and her helper did everything wrong and even overrode my specific directions. From the very beginning to the very end, with no apology and an attitude of "well, things happen". Just to give you a few examples, they overfed my cats (despite clearly written and oral instructions - 1 can. I got messages from them say they gave more. I told them to only give one. I came home to find 2 cans put out for my cats!! This is negligence!) and didn't follow simple instructions for opening and closing windows (and locking them) which could have endangered my home - These are just some small examples, other were worse. I was rudely told that she couldn't speak to me when I tried to ask about what happened. I even had expressed to her that I was nervous to leave my cats while I was on vacation, but despite me telling her this, she STILL did everything wrong and didn't tell me or apologize. I also came home to find all the above problems, AND ALSO a full plastic bag of what had been scooped out of a cat litter left on the floor next to the litter box, rather than disposed of properly as they should have. Yes folks, they scooped poo and pee out and left it there in the bag, on my floor. This is totally unacceptable when you are paying this much!!! The icing on the cake was that later discovered that my home was infested with fleas after their pet sit which it was not before. I have reason to believe they may have infested my home, brought them from other cats they were petsitting. Quite simply, I will never recommend or use this company again. They don't follow directions and have a very lazy, entitled attitude about petsitting that is makes their prices very much NOT worth it. Sound hard to believe? I was shocked too. I'm a busy person but wrote this because while she may come off very "charming" she is utterly incompetent and probably passive-aggressive when it comes to instructions.
