A week or so later, I received a call from them letting me know there was a backorder on that frame from the manufacturer - not their fault but frustrating we'd have to wait and use an outdated prescription for a while - we're talking months of backorder. However, a few weeks later they called to say they were able to get them replaced sooner. So, we picked up the new glasses within the week of getting their call. While they are more expensive than the chain optical stores or stores like Costco, they stand by their work and provide "service with a smile."

They have an ample selection of frames to choose from, from very reasonably priced to more expensive. We had no trouble finding several frames we liked to choose from. We saw Dr. Ullman. He's young, but knows his stuff. The exams were very thorough. He identified something with my eyes that he was unable to do anything with himself, but he referred me to an Opthamologist for that. They don't make the glasses on premises so there is a delay between the exam and getting your new glasses. I admit that the wait was a little longer than I'd hoped. It took 10 days for mine to arrive. At the time of this writing it has been over two weeks and my wife's have not arrived yet. Be that as it may, even with the delay I would say that, overall, the experience was very good. I look forward to seeing them again in the future. (Pun intended...)

I asked the lady if I could provide that once at the location and she said they would not take me in, so I had to do it on the phone. She found out I had coverage. Once at the store she told me I had no coverage for eye exam for contact lenses. I told her I did but she insisted and did not offer calling my insurance to confirm. I got home and confirmed I do have coverage for eye exam without differentiating if it is for frame or contacts. Also, I have the option for contacts fitting and evaluation. Very disappointed there was no service for me to help figuring this out, ant the person attending just wasn't interested on doing business even when I've been going to this place for the last 5 years. The doctor and front staff were all so helpful, friendly and attentive to detail, it made it such a pleasurable experience for a not so pleasurable mishap. They must have new staff up front from some of the reviews two years ago, because front staff was awesome when I went in. Not even average, seriously amazing! :) The staff was great about having everything go through my insurance so I only had to pay my copay. Of course it may be different for others, but worked out well for me. Dr Assell is very nice, personable and I feel comfortable with him. When I was new to contacts, I got a few samples to try at home. Each year Dr Assell seems to know my eyes and if adjustments are needed with my prescription. The office has a large selection of designer frames. The staff is always friendly. Luckily I have VSP insurance because glasses and contacts can be expensive.
