I had an excellent experience with Dr. Snehali Upadhyay at Advanced Eye Care of Hanover Park (the…read morepractice recently changed names, which is helpful to know if you're searching older listings). From the start, everything was smooth and modern -- I was able to complete all paperwork online and upload records from my previous eye doctors ahead of time, making check-in effortless. Dr. Upadhyay was extremely thorough and thoughtful during my exam. She took the time to clearly explain my results, walk me through how and why my prescription has changed, and discuss my eye health in a way that was easy to understand. I never felt rushed and felt genuinely listened to. It's easy to see why she stands out. Dr. Upadhyay has advanced post-doctoral training, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), and teaches at a local dental college -- credentials that are rare in a local practice and absolutely reflected in the quality of her care. The office is small, bright, and inviting, and the staff was kind, professional, and efficient, guiding me through each test seamlessly. They were also very transparent about insurance and costs, clearly explaining what was covered and what wasn't. The practice takes EyeMed, and everything was handled clearly and professionally. I left feeling confident, informed, and well cared for. I'm very glad I made the switch and would highly recommend Dr. Upadhyay to anyone looking for top-tier eye care.

So I tried to call the store but all I got was the same ridiculous chatbot. No answers no humans. This is pathetic. I will not be using Visionworks anymore.

Recently went to get my kids eye exam and get glasses if needed. My insurance gives us $175 to use…read moretowards glasses. This will come into play later. The Doctors here do a good job. However, you need to be on alert with the sales folks there. After the exam, I decided I wanted to get my kids some glasses with blue light blockers since they are on their computer and iPad a lot for homework and game. So they picked out some glasses nothing outrages overpriced. One picks up one frame for $129 and the other picked up one for $99. I figured insurance would cover all that for the frame. Total came out to just under $100 for the exam, prescription and frames. Didn't think anything about it until I went home and decided to check the invoice. The sales person apparently, rang up both frames for $199 each which left me to pay for the difference from the $175, which in turned made my out of pocket cost more expensive. Apparently, the sales staff get a commission on the glasses they sell. I wished I would have known that from the start. Watch out for this scam! This is the last time I'll be visiting VisionWorks.

I asked the lady if I could provide that once at the location and she said they would not take me in, so I had to do it on the phone. She found out I had coverage. Once at the store she told me I had no coverage for eye exam for contact lenses. I told her I did but she insisted and did not offer calling my insurance to confirm. I got home and confirmed I do have coverage for eye exam without differentiating if it is for frame or contacts. Also, I have the option for contacts fitting and evaluation. Very disappointed there was no service for me to help figuring this out, ant the person attending just wasn't interested on doing business even when I've been going to this place for the last 5 years. Will definitely change my eye care provider.

My company recently switched insurance so I'm on the hunt for a new repertoire of doctors. I went…read moreto Rosin Eyecare as they have pretty good reviews and was happy with my experience. Very friendly front desk staff, Dr. Patel was awesome and the sales person was nice, as well. I felt really good about my contacts & glasses exam, felt like it was very thorough. My gripe here was the disclosure of prices. I was only told the price of one type of contacts and felt a bit pressured into buying a huge supply. At first I was told to get a year supply which would be $800. I ended up going with a 3 months supply, 2 boxes which still ran me $75 out of pocket after my insurance covered $105. My regular daily contacts cost me the exact same $75 for a 3 month supply so the insurance didn't save me anything at Rosin. Also, I wasn't given an itemized receipt which would have shown me exactly why my bill was so much. When I went back to pick up the contacts, I asked for an itemized receipt. I had gone in for a routine vision exam which was $10 with my insurance, normally $85. They had asked if I wanted a glacoma test which would cost me $15 extra dollars and I declined. But then I see on my itemized receipt I was given a Sphere evaluation for $75 which wasn't covered by insurance. Now I know why they didn't give me an itemized receipt from the beginning and why my out of pocket was so much. I don't feel good that they did a test without my permission of the costs when I went in for a routine exam and find it shady. Despite staff being nice, I won't be back.
