Delicious! My new favorite falafel spot. I love love love how I can get a vegan gluten free falafel wrap with tomato and pickled turnips and tahini sauce for a very good price and it's a lot of food. I didn't ask, but I wonder if they make a spicy sauce too? It's Armenian Lebanese food. Wonderful. read more

This place is so so good!!! If you like flavor and are willing to try something new and be pleasantly surprised then go here! I came with my friends for dinner. Ive never had Armenian food but I like Mediterranean and I'd been wanting to try this place. My friend and I got the cous cous bowl with different proteins added and my other friend got a manoush. Omg when I tell you, I've had the small cous cous before but this stuff was incredible!! The flavor in the fattoush was awesome, so many fresh herbs and crunch, and the walnut harissa was so good! I switched the hummus for labne which is like a Armenian sour cream/Greek yogurt and it was the perfect combo. I cannot wait to come back and try the rest of the menu! This might just become my new go-to spot for a quick-ish dinner that doesn't compromise on flavor and is still healthy, filling, and doesn't break the bank! read more

Anoush'ella - couscous zaatar chicken bowl, couscous braised Beef bowl, manoush - Lebanese Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

While looking for food in the area we decided on Anoush'ella since it had a quick pick up time and sounded interesting for the area. The time for pickup ended up being longer than originally quoted, but that might be Grubhub's fault. I ordered the kofta m'anoush. It was delicious and the lab was fresh, but the portion was really small. It was nearly $12 and definitely not worth it. My boyfriend felt the same about his sabich. Good but overpriced. We also got labne. He got the blueberry power bowl and I got the rice pudding. He liked his but as mentioned in other reviews the portion is really small. Not only was mine small but you can see it was grossly runny and the rice was hard and overcooked. For $6.50 I expect more. I don't think I will return. I liked the kofta, but the portions were not big for the price and I'm really upset over my crunchy yet liquid rice pudding. With so many places in the area, try elsewhere. read more

Anoush'ella is one of the best spots in the area for a quick, healthy and delicious lunch. I was also thoroughly impressed with how much effort went into the lunch they catered for our office. Every container was meticulously put together with different mezze surrounding the main dish. The flavors went together perfectly and everything tasted fresh. I have to point out the baba ghanoush and pulled chicken as my favorite items as the flavor was just spot on. Overall, I would absolutely give anoush'ella a try as it's not often you find a mesopotamian cuisine like this. read more

This place was so yummy. So many spices and colorful ingredients. Fresh and fast service. We got two wraps, the kofta and braised beef. Both were great. The kofta is spiced perfected. The braised beef was my favorite. I liked the texture of the beef and the proportions were perfect. This is only my preference but I don't prefer parsley and there was plenty in there! Also got a side of fattoush. Refreshing salad! read more

Fresh tasty food. Friendly staff. Good ambience. Came here HUNGRY with a few friends and ordered everything on the menu! What I LOVED: Walnut Harissa - OMG this is a side, but oh so tasty and full of flavorful. You can add this to anything you have there. (5/5) Chicken Zatar - chicken is well cooked and goes well with any salad, wrap or lentil bowl (4.5/5) Lamb kofte - delicious and well cooked (4/5) Chickpea fritters - pretty good if you're vegan or vegetarian. (4/5) Lentil soup - tasty, light and healthy option for those looking for a snack. MEHH: Lentil kofta - this was quite bad. Wouldn't recommend having it even if it were free of charge (2/5) Tahini Mocha - I almost threw up after a sip of this. Not sure why it's even in the menu. So so bad. (-1/5) read more

I got food for two delivered. The driver arrive after 70 mins (35-55 was the estimate). Some of our items were missing - such as the extra bread my husband had ordered. Oh, and the normal amount of bread that should have been there. He had to eat his two meat dishes (za'ataar chicken and Spice Overnight Braised Beef and Zhouk) on sliced bread. The chicken and meat dishes were cold and stale - they must have been sitting for a long time. I had better luck with my Za'atar M'anoush and Fattoush salad - which were mediocre but miles better still than what my husband had to eat. Fattoush salad lacked any distinctive taste, it was just watery. I've had such salads in Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and Greece, and it was an explosion of flavours! The Za'atar M'anoush would have been good freshly made, but delivered so late, it was a mushy mess. Also, portions are tiny - the meat ones only half filed the small bowls you get. Prices look ok, but are actually deceptively high, considering the food you get. Pass. read more

Lentil Rice Bowl ($9.95): Was super filling and absolutely delicious! It was topped with their famous walnut harissa that provided a nice nutty ness with a bit of a spicy kick. It was very similar to a chunky romesco sauce. Rice Pudding ($5.45): was a bit too sweet for my tastebuds but the amount of fruit, the aroma (I'm guessing rose water), and pistachios made this delectable! I loved having a small amount but can't really imagine getting the whole thing for myself. Labne Shakshuka: the thick and creamy labne (imagine garlicky Greek yogurt) and the perfectly poached eggs were complemented by a variety of aromatics that made this dish super interesting. The texture was a little bit homogeneous though. read more

A cute restaurant with light fare, all decent to good. Would be a good local spot, but not worth a special visit. The kenefe was warm and tasty, and probably the most filling, being cheese filled flatbread. The fattoush with haloumi was mostly a romaine salad, and almost 4$ for four smallish chunks of haloumi seemed on the pricey side. I preferred it to the tabouleh with lentil kofta, though, as the kofta didn't have much flavor, and the tabouleh was mostly lemony in flavor. The best item we tried was the halva. Although halva is too sweet for my personal preference, it was really good in the fruit and flatbread combination, so if you like halva, you should definitely get it! read more

"Anoush'ella" is the Armenian phrase for bon appetite. Growing up not speaking much Armenian but always hearing this phrase at the table made me eager to try this place out! What a unique modern twist on authentic Armenian food! This place takes traditional Armenian dishes and incorporates them into your everyday grain bowl or wrap which is pretty cool! I would not pick it over my grandma's Armenian cooking, but if I am looking for Armo food in the city, I'd pick this place every time! All I can say is, ANOUSHELLA! read more

Just finished lamajun m'anoush and had to give it an absolute of 5 stars! Ordered through my company, wow, it has been a long while since I've had a fresh and tasty take out. Packed w flavor, fresh ingredients. Very impressive. I am generally not the biggest Mediterranean food fan, and super picky about restaurants in the area, after living in NYC for way too long. Great quality food. Period. read more

Anoush'ella is amazing!! I had their food for the first time at Timeout Market, and got the cod wrap (probably my favorite thing from here so far) and a dip platter which were both amazing, but I went into the actual location and got their fattoush salad with chicken, and it was also very very good! The server at the register was very helpful in helping me pick what I would like, and it wasn't too busy inside. You order your food at the register and then sit down, so it is a great place for a more casual lunch or dinner with some friends (or by yourself like I did!) I sat down and studied at a table next to an outlet and they didn't say anything, and it was a pretty good study environment tbh. Anoush'ella has great Mediterranean food though, and I highly recommend it. read more

I like the takeaway from here. Although, it is possible to eat outside. It's next to the bus stop and sort of a busy street of cars and pedestrians, but if you cannot wait to bite into your food. . . Of course I am raving about this place because of their falafels as it's the only vegetarian food I can eat in this genre of eateries. The falafel in their wraps are thinly crisp on the outside while fluffy inside. Sometimes I find falafel so dense inside but their falafel is light. Don't get me wrong, the wraps are definitely filling! The sauce is just enough not to empower the falafel, but still enough to drip all over ones fingers upon devouring. I am not a usual fan of hummus, but I will eat it at Anoush ella-- so smooth and not too tangy! The mint lemonade is so flavorful even if the cup is filled with ice! It tastes exactly like a mojito. read more

I tried the couscous bowl with beef for lunch, and it was a wholesome, fresh meal. The bowl was pretty hefty (I ate around half of it and was stuffed). It had many herbs and different flavorful sides (like some sort of hummus and other brightly colored dips) over a generous portion of beef and pearl couscous. The beef had a nice flavor but was a bit on the dry side. There is indoor seating but the bowls are disposable, which makes for easy take-out. I'd recommend coming here for a healthy-tasting, filling meal (and maybe leftovers!) read more

Always a great choice for a great fast meal. Nice staff and very orderly establishment. Highly recommend

While visiting Boston from NYC, I placed this place on my list. I was not disappointed! I got the Mezz (mini bowls - like tapa size) with their amazing Flatbread! The spiced beef and the za'atar wrap was mindblowing. Both are perfectly season, light but satiating! If you are looking for really flavorful food and on a budget (my total was $35 with beer). It gladly fed my partner and I. Can't wait to come back again. read more

Feeling really disheartened writing this. As an Armenian-Lebanese myself I was extremely excited to visit this place but it really missed the mark for me and was overall an awkward experience. There was no one inside when we went. The employees were not at all friendly. Walked to the bar to order and the server just walked to the register and stared at us (didn't say hi, just stared blankly). They didn't have many of the items on the menu and the menu is overall small/limited. You get drinks yourself in a random fridge where everything is unlabeled and there are no straws near where you get drinks. The food overall was good and presented well except the falafel. It tasted like it was baked, seemed more dry and mushy than anything. I would come back for the food but think the customer experience and menu options needs some serious improvements. read more

Came across this restaurant in the summer and tried the chicken za'atar wrap. I truly wonder where why I have not come here more often. I love the hearty flavors that Anoush'ella makes and balances it so nicely with pickled sides. Sometimes the pickles may be a little bit too sour as well as their ginger and thyme drink - but nothing a citrus lover will say no to! Anoush'ella is my favorite flavorful but clean and satisfying meal in Boston - perfect balance! The restaurant itself is modern and clean with a variety of seating. During the summer, there's outdoor seating so you can bathe in the sun. Inside, you can sit at the bar, at a long communal table, at individual tables, as well as a corner next to the fridges that can fit family-size parties. The only downside of Anoush'ella is that there's not too much transportation nearby for cold winter days but makes a very pleasant and easy stroll to get to in warmer weather. read more

I think of Pavlov's dogs, because now, when I find myself on Washington Street, Anoush'ella pops in to the ol' dome and I drool. Because when Anoush'ella comes to mind, their labne shakshuka soon follows. And the labne shakshuka is the best brunch plate I've had in recent memory. Labne is a thick ass tangy yogurt, not unlike a skyr or what have you; shakshuka is a Bohemian egg casserole type thing, typically finding the ova swimming in a thick and thickly spiced tomato casserole. Historically, I only found it at The Beehive and some random spots, but I guess it's in the spotlight, because more eateries are popping it on the menu. Take that, inventive twists on a classic Eggs Benny. Anyway, the good peeps at Anoush'ella imbue their labne with a heavy hand of garlic, adorn the plate with a fragrant olive oil, za'atar and other gorgeous herbs, and crack two soft poached eggs in the mess. "Damien, would you ever think to eat eggs and yogurt together?" "No, homey. Too texturally similar. I need that crunch." "Well, here - just try this labne shakshuka from Anoush'ella." *eats* "Everything I know is a lie." It's honestly the best. I love it. I love everything else I've had here (check pics for the spread), mostly because the Lebanese menu takes a bold flavor approach to already bold flavor foods. The lamajun is megacharged, an overstuffed version of a staple dish, revved up with pomegranate arils (a site favorite); and the Anoush'ella kofta is a wrap that could probably take up residence in my mouth, and I'd never ask for rent. The desserts are stellar (if you see something that looks like a baklava cookie, buy them all), they have local beers and cordial cocktails on tap, and the you can eat on a table that's filled with a world of spices. It's a must try when in the South End, or anywhere else, because labne shakshuka, late entry and front-runner for the 2017 Plate Of The Year. read more

This place is one of Boston's hidden gems! We ordered takeout from here many times in the past year. This past weekend we decided to eat in the restaurant since we were in the area. This is a casual place where you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. I had my go to cous cous bowl and shared the chef's mezze platter. The portions for the grain bowls are great and you get to try a little of everything since it comes with some mezze on top. I always add a protein and end up stuffed. The mezze platter was nice and comes with their signature thin pita. We were hoping for more of the hot mezze (with meat) to show up on the pate but the only items were the halloumi and falafel. Overall, great food and friendly staff. read more

This place is local so have visited numerous times at this point. Food I've tried: (* = my favorite) - M'ANOUSH ZA'ATAR CHICKEN: nice and hearty wrap that is well seasoned. - M'ANOUSH OVERNIGHT BRAISED BEEF*: nice and hearty wrap that is well seasoned. I prefer the beef one over the chicken, simply because I personally like beef better than chicken. - BROWN RICE BOWL: tastes like how you would expect mixed rice bowl to taste. Well seasoned, good balance of flavors. - BABA GANOUSH + PITA*: well seasoned, good balance of flavors. - Note: I haven't confirmed this with objective tools, but somehow I feel that the quantity of food is less when I do take out vs. when I eat in. The M'ANOUSH is especially smaller with takeout. Also, I always ask for no cilantro, but somehow my food always has cilantro in it ... I haven't taken my food back to the counter or anything but I do always notice that somehow the cilantro makes it back in. Perhaps it is not possible to have a cilantro-less dish based on the way things are prepared, but when I say no cilantro none of the staff has ever told me that it is not possible. Atmosphere: - Cute local restaurant vibe. Service: - Everyone is extremely friendly. - Service has always been fast. Overall: - PRO: Solid Mediterranean restaurant for reasonable price. - CON: Difference in my takeout v. eat in experience. Sneaky cilantro. read more

There are lots of annoying things a restaurant can do but a top pet peeve is not posting prices. Yes, i can luckily afford to walk in to a restaurant and have funds to cover a meal but i hate that i can't see prices up at this place. Why hide it? In general, the place is very confusing throughout. You walk in and it's unclear which counter one should walk up to (theres two but orders are made at just one, but people were queueing at both). There is free water but hidden in the back seating area, so you'll have to explore your way around. Food is brought to your table, but then you have to take your own plates to the garbage bin. We greeted the manager whom was at the register but he did not return the greeting before taking our order; pretty rude. The experience as a whole is not friendly and linear and therefore not inviting. Food was good but the experience as a whole was off putting. read more

a good spot if you're trying to get lunch on the go. I got the za'atar wrap and added the monk salad as a side for $3.50. overall, I would say that $11 for a filling lunch was good, but there was something missing. Small take-out place with seating for a few out in front, looked like more seating around the corner, but didn't explore. People behind counter were very nice and friendly, but got a feeling that they weren't used to new people walking in. I think it does a lot of take-out for regulars in the neighborhood. Grabbed a bite to go from the bar/counter on Sunday. Taking off a star for suuuuper puny portion size - $6 yogurt for a large spoonful of yogurt - really?! I would have spoken up but wanted to get out and away from the stone faced dude working the bar area ASAP. (Another Star deduction.) Hark, the herald angels sing, for I have found vegan Lebanese/Armenian paradise in Boston. A good time to check them out is after the brunch rush/before the dinner rush. We had the beautiful environs to ourselves and snatched up a prime corner spot at the counter avec a plethora of plates and their superb sangria that isn't too sweet (it's advertised as not sweet, hence me trying it. Sangria is too often a syrupy affair. No bueno). So. Hummus. Babaganouj. You know even when that stuff is basic it's still pretty good. But here it's next level divine, practically plush in texture and decadent in flavor. I tried the M'Anoush for the first time and I'll never be the same again. The taste and texture of that flatbread smothered in za'atar, olive oil and kalamata olives is haunting me as we speak. I swear once I bit into it, I went into a food fugue. This happens to me an average of twice a year, so this is good stuff, people. Good stuff served to us by good people. Note: I sat here so charmed by literally everything around me, I kept marveling like a kid in a candy store - check out the spice table! I'm not sure I could ever take out from here if I lived close. The interior is utterly beguiling. Note: I live a mere 45 minute cheap Jetblue plane ride away. Anoush'ella, I'm coming back for you. read more
