We both ordered the Lobster with brie omelet. You truly get a bite of lobster in every bite! Delicious. We also ordered the fruit instead of the other sides. There was absolutely no social distancing! Tables were maybe 1 foot apart and people were just crowded in the entry. I will not be returning because i did not feel safe! This place is breakfast like you would get in New Orleans, very creative menu for food and drinks, they have a full bar. If your looking for a different breakfast spot this is it. My family and I recently went here for brunch. The food was great, but my son's drink (cranberry juice) had a huge glob of something that looked like mucous in it. As a kid, he wasn't paying attention so the drinks arrived, he stuck his straw in and took a sip. I noticed the floating glob and we all tried to brainstorm what it might be. It definitely wasn't any kind of fruit pulp. In looking at the glass, there's a drip of something white coming down from the rim on the left. We pushed the straw around a bit to lift up the glob and see what it was. It started breaking apart into smaller globs. There should not be globs of white stuff floating in cranberry juice. The server brought out a new glass of juice with no explanation for what it might be. After seeing the glob, I was hesitant to drink my own drink or return to the restaurant. read more

Our breakfast in Kansas City!!! We tried to visit this Cafe on our last day in New Orleans, but my husband was busy playing hero for a guy who thought someone stole his car. In the end, his car wasn't even stolen....he looked at the wrong car. But that's a story for another time ... LOL By the time we would have entered the cafe, they were closing. Glad we got to try it in another state. The food was good and their coffee cups are really cute! Our waitress was super nice, patient, and attentive. We had met up with an Army friend of mine and it was all of our first time even though my friend lived in town. The lady was nice enough to bring us their Beignet Donuts to try! This business is not adhering to the county's COVID-19 guidelines. When my family came in for brunch, we were met with a hostess who was not wearing a mask. The other servers were not wearing their masks properly. We also found the tables were arranged so that there was no more than one to two feet maximum of space between parties. As we walked out, refusing to eat at a restaurant that made us feel unsafe, the hostess asked us what was wrong. When we shared our concerns, she said that her restaurant makes most of its money on the weekends. This is understandable, but practically every restaurant in the country is facing a similar issue, but others are making reasonable accommodations to ensure the safety of their patrons. We ended up going to a nearby brunch place that was had ample rooms between parties and where all staff were extremely conscious of COVID-19 guidelines. I would not recommend eating at this location if you care about the health and safety of your family and those around you. read more

let me start by saying this - I see the owner of this restaurant responding to every review on yelp, except for the ones that call them out on being completely ignorant & irresponsible in regards to COVID-19. I saw her respond to one of these reviews, claiming that their restaurant respects "medical freedom" - & not to make this political, but I am POSITIVE that this attitude does not apply to ALL medical freedoms, if you know what I mean. I will say, our server was very nice & gave us great service. the food was generally good - I asked for no tomatoes on my sandwich but it came with tomatoes, & there were barely any avocados on my sandwich either. again, the food really was not the problem & I still enjoyed my meal. my problem here is that the first two employees that I saw in the restaurant were not wearing masks. I saw one man serve 3 tables their food without wearing a mask & one server wearing a very poor excuse for a mask/face shield. this is not "medical freedom," this is blatantly disrespecting the lives of their customers & putting everyone at risk. on top of it all, the restaurant was outrageously overcrowded with MAYBE 2 feet between tables. I will be calling the health department on this establishment today. I would love to hear back from you, "Guest R." UPDATE & RESPONSE: I appreciate the response, but I will not be returning to this establishment even after COVID is behind us. There are no medical exemptions that should allow a person working in a restaurant that sees hundreds of people each day to not wear a mask. If their medical conditions are severe enough for them to be "exempt from wearing a mask," then they should not be working a restaurant in the third & most severe spike of this virus in the country. The cafe is big but quaint. It was very busy at 9:30am on a Saturday, and for good reason. Everything was great, starting with our waiter Alex! He had a great sense of humor, patience for our indecisiveness, and gave us excellent recommendations for both food and drink. Recently visited the OP location at Deer Creek. We utilized the online wait list and were seated immediately upon check-in. Our server was very attentive and the food was delicious. I had the traditional eggs Benedict and my daughter had pancakes. She also had a s'mores flavored iced coffee and loved it. I had a mimosa. Everything was delicious. There is no parking space to quickly get in and out to pick up an online order. There was no help online with online orders, and the restaurant doesn't pick up the phone. We have always looked forward to eating at Another Broken Egg Cafe when visiting Orange Beach, AL. So imagine our delight when we found out they were coming to our neighborhood in Overland Park, KS. I'm going to start this review with the positive: the food is excellent and the employees and management are kind. The decor is cute and the all seasons space has enough windows that open to feel like a patio. However, none of the good things I described negates the terrible experience of dining in. I was a part of a larger party of mostly out of towners (I'm from the area but the rest of our party is not). I called at about 8:45 because their online waitlist said to call for party's of over 7 (we were 10). I asked if they would be able to seat us in the patio space at 10:00 am that day. They assured me that was no problem, that an hour was plenty of time in advance to reserve a table for that size. I double checked as I know a 10 top on a Sunday morning can be a lot of strain on kitchen/servers but again I was assured that was fine. We got there just before 10, and we were told it would be another 20 mins. Not a big deal we were all fine with waiting a little longer. 20 minutes went by, and the 30, and then 40. We were given coffees and beignets while we waited and were generally still optimistic we'd get sat soon. After about an hour and 15 mins our table was ready. We sat down and waited another 10 mins to order drinks. Then we waited 30 mins for our drinks to arrive. We received waters after about another 15 mins, when we ordered our food. We then waited another 45 mins after ordering our food to get it. During this time, we talked to a man in an orange polo that I assume is the manager, letting him know how long it took to get drinks, the our waters had been sitting empty, that it just seemed like our waiter needed some help. He came to our table and asked if anyone wanted other drinks. We ordered a few more... and then those took about 25-30mins as well. We talked to the manager once more before getting our food and he was extremely apologetic, but didn't do anything to help speed the meals along, check our table, or help his server out to make sure there were no more issues. When we finally got food it was only four of our meals. We then waited about 15 more minutes for one more, then 10 mins for the final meals. Like I said, the food is tasty so no complaints once we got our food. We got the check quickly because one of the members of our table had had enough and asked our server to bring it immediately following the food. We didn't get a visit from the manager to apologize, no discount for the total hour and fifteen minute wait AFTER putting our names on the waitlist/reserving a spot an hour before arriving. Our server thanked us for being so patient, but as someone who's worked in the restaurant industry, this was an easily curable issue. Even if your kitchen is slow you can jump in with your server, bartender, etc and make everything else go seamlessly. This seems like the management has absolutely no clue how to run a restaurant. We did observe that the other tables around us were experiencing similar issues, so this definitely wasn't a one-off experience. I know dining out right now means slower service but this was just an over the top disaster. I do not recommend eating here, and I won't be going back. It's worth noting as well, that they are NOT spacing tables, servers were not keeping masks over their noses and mouths, and in the outdoor area we were crammed in like sardines so definitely not pandemic friendly. There was also a big party waiting on the space we were in who had reserved it for just after the time we got sat (I think 11:30). We ran into them outside and gave them a quick warning. They told us they had been waiting for about as long as we had been sitting. Yikes! read more

This place originally came into my world when I was in Atlanta for work so I was elated when I found out they were opening a location in Overland Park. Sadly, I have only ventured here once but I was fairly pleased. Seeing that I love all breakfast food it was very challenging to decide on what I wanted to order. Regardless of my choice, I knew I was going to be happy about it and I was. Not that I am a lush, but I do enjoy their adult beverage choices especially when you mix it in my coffee. I am so disappointed. I went with some friends for brunch this morning and almost just got up and left. They are NOT respecting guidelines set out to prevent the further spread of COVID. Customers are not required to wear masks and many customers were not. Even worse, many of the WORKERS were not wearing masks. They were seating customers at all of their tables and some were even rather large groups of 12+. People were up walking around without masks on, the hostess, bus boy, and multiple waiters/waitresses were not wearing masks. The most disturbing was that workers were serving food not wearing masks. This is so irresponsible of an establishment during this time. If you value your health and your families health, do not go here. Not to mention I showed up with a party of three. We waited outside to be respectful of space. Two parties arrived after us and were seated and served before us. read more
