The cafe is decorated with ornately framed oil paintings, and when you are seated, you are given silverware and a tablecloth. Perhaps it is because I have never eaten at a cafe like this one, but it felt rather classy. The use of warm colors, such as orange and cream for the walls and ceiling, and dark-brown wooden furniture helps to create a cozy feeling. This atmosphere is supplemented by the soft lighting. Upbeat pop music is playing in the background, and while it clashes with the mood created by the environment, it strangely isn't unwelcome. The service was excellent. I was seated immediately after entering the cafe. The waiters were polite, and they frequently came by to ask if I needed anything. I ordered a raspberry tea, a vegetarian Hey Lucy! Omelette, and Huevos Rancheros. The Raspberry Tea was really sweet, teetering on the edge of syrupy. I personally enjoyed it because I tend to favor sweeter foods, though I acknowledge that some people might find it to be over sweet. The raspberry tea balanced the flavors of raspberry and the tea itself very nicely, with neither flavor overtaking the other. With regards to the Hey Lucy! Omelette, it is served with a side of potatoes, salsa dip, sour cream, and a biscuit. The potatoes are well fried and seasoned, tasting like classic fries. The omelette itself was a little too spicy for my taste. I feel as though the spice overpowered the other flavors in the omelette. However, when eaten with the sliced biscuit, it is actually very good. The saltiness and more neutral flavor of the biscuit helped to balance out the spice of the omelette. This effect of balancing flavors is aided by the addition of the sour cream. I didn't care for the salsa as I found it to be a little too watery for my taste. The tortillas for the Huevos Rancheros were crispy and flaky, and the perfect saltiness. The egg was cooked gently, so that the yolk was cooked, but not fully, with the center still being runny. I personally enjoy eggs this way, but if you like your eggs cooked longer and you plan on ordering this dish, you may want to let the server know you want your eggs cooked fully. The beans make a good contribution to the flavor by adding depth. The sour cream that was served with the Huevos Rancheros as a side added a nice lightness to the entire dish as well. The dish is also served with salsa and guacamole dips. The guac was okay, and it complemented the dish well, but it wasn't that good. I ordered two dishes, but I recommend that you only order one, unless you know for certain that you can stomach more. I had never eaten here prior to this, so I didn't know how large the portion sizes would be, and I ended up having trouble finishing my food towards the end. For the amount of food that you get, however, the food is a decent price. There were no COVID-19 precautions taken from what I could tell, but there weren't that many people in the restaurant during my time there anyway. To whomever it may concern, the cafe did implement sustainable practices by using reusable ceramic and steel cutlery and plates. The only thing that comes to mind where they did not use reusable material was the plastic straws that come with drinks, but that is just a minor gripe. read more

This was my first visit and I absolutely loved almost everything about this restaurant. I ordered the French toast and it was delicious. My daughter ordered the bananas foster french toast, which had hair in it so they recooked her meal. Sadly, by the time she got it everyone else at the table had finished eating. There was absolutely no urgency in them re-making her order. There were a few things that could have been done differently. I'll probably dine here again. read more

This was our first time here and other than a 6 ounce cup of weak coffee being way overpriced (we couldn't even get to keep the used cup).... Everything else was awesome! The waitresses were pleasant, attentive and they all helped each other out. The food was delicious! The price for the food was reasonable. I really just would of liked to have the cup for free but the waitress offered the new one for sale for a whopping $18!!!! Oh my! She also said with tax the cup will only be $20.00! REALLY? I just paid almost $8.00 for not one but TWO cups of weak coffee! I should of at least got "1" used coffee cup to take home......FREE! read more

This restaurant was in a cute, central location in Mountain Brook. My server was super polite, quick and friendly. It wasn't very crowded on a weekday morning, and the menu was extensive. I ordered a veggie omelette and fresh fruit. Huge portions, pretty decent eggs and toast, and the fruit cup was good. Why only three stars? It just felt like a chain diner, and after reading all the awesome reviews, I left somehow wanting more. The menus were well worn, the restaurant didn't have much of a personality and the food was fine- not amazing. To be clear, there was nothing wrong with the food or the service... it was just okay. I would try it again, but I'd likely try multiple other breakfast places first. read more

Loved it!!!! Parking: we were lucky and found a spot out front but I could see how street parking might be hard to find later in the day. Food: excellent. I did eggs Benedict. Bar: full. Mom got a mojito, another friend got a bloody marry, etc. read more

The Mardi Gras Omelet is amazing. Perfect combination of crawfish, shrimp, and sausage. Wonderful service, too. read more

This is now my #1 place for breakfast. Set in the heart of downtown Mountain Brook. This place has excellent delicious selections! I believe there's always a price for quality. I started off with the biscuit beignets with orange marmalade, which were awesome!!! They make the best cheese grits I've ever had! The lobster Brie omelet is to die for!! There wasn't anything I had which I didn't like, even the coffee was great! You won't be disappointed. read more

5 stars all around. I have eaten here multiple times...and let me tell you.... I should not be allowed there by myself. My absolute favorite are the lemon, blueberry goat cheese pancakes. They're thick, but not overtly gooey or poofy, the combination of flavors are perfect. Their biscuits and gravy dish with their homemade sausage may sound simple, but it is the best dish of biscuits and gravy I've had anywhere else. Another Broken Egg is a must stop while you're in T town. read more

The service I received today was terrible. My server Brianna came to my table about twice during my visit here. My food came out before I got anything to drink and of course my food was cold. Very disappointed. read more

I don't have a lot of words for this place. The only phrases that come to mind are "sooooo good" or "omg so freaking good" or "holy crap that place was awesome". So yeah not much to say other than the FOOD was AMAZING. I had those blueberry goat cheese pancakes that yelpers recommended and ate as much of them as I could possibly stuff into my stomach. OMG so good. Our waiter was really nice and we didn't have to wait as long as they quoted. Win win. It's not fair that there isn't one of these in Nashville although it's probably better for my health... Also, they asked how I wanted my bacon cooked. I joked and said almost burnt and they brought me the crispiest most delicious almost burnt bacon I've ever had in a restaurant. SO GOOD. Clearly I need to eat there again to add variety to my adjectives describing the experience. I will probably plan my next road trip around one of their locations... read more

The best breakfast I have ever had!!! I got the Lobster omlet! It was so delicious! The service was excellent, and everyone's food was great! The bloody Mary's were perfect and coffee was delicious! I would definitely recommend and go back! read more

One of my favorite brunch places in town. This was my second time and the food didn't disappoint. This time, the wait was a little long but was worth it for the good food. I got on the wait list through yelp and it was good with real time waiting by checking the app. I got the shrimp and grits (right) My girlfriend got the crab cake benedict (left). Both were good portions. The shrimp and grits had a little spice to it but was savory and had tons of flavor. We got the grits but forgot to get it "loaded" (with bacon cheese etc.) which tastes much better with everything in it. I truly enjoyed the food and will be back again! read more

Always a great brunch spot! Highly recommend doing the online waitlist before going in to help cut down your wait time! But overall it's a great place to eat read more

Great food, and our server was excellent. Only regret is I didn't get his name! The banana fosters pancakes are a must!!

I was able to enjoy a Sunday morning breakfast without having to wait- arrived around 8:30 with my friend and was able to sit right away. Couldn't figure out what I wanted so the Waffle Sliders seemed perfect. A little sweet (belian waffle as the bun) with omelette style eggs with cheese and bacon as the center. For my side I upgraded to the city grits. And let me just say these City grits are phenomenal!! I've been here a couple times and that was my main meal and I just added eggs. They are grits with cheese, bacon, green onions and tomatoes all added in... simple but amazing! Back to the main meal- The sliders were also very tasty. The Belgian waffle was crispy on the exterior like it should be and fluffy at the same time. It was a basic style cheese omelette in the center and the bacon was thick and meaty. I took a couple bites of it as a sandwich and then decided it was easier just to eat separately with a fork and knife. Our waiter Brad, was excellent, he answered all my questions and gave suggestions as well. Checked in as needed and never made us feel rushed. Looking forward to going back. read more

The food here is so dang good. The swrvice is awful though. It always takes forever to be greeted

Excellent food!! You get large portions so don't overdo it! We went on a Sunday morning and it was extremely busy with a long wait time but it was all worth it! The manager assured me that they were working on reducing the wait time! I love this place! And I enjoyed a refreshing alcoholic beverage with my brunch! read more

I came for a happy Southern brunch and was not disappointed. The pecan-praline waffle was addictive and the beignets, oh the beignets! But the homemade sausage, that's of the kind that's best kept a secret because once they find out, turf wars will start for distribution. Just kidding. Maybe not. And I didn't even have anything alcoholic, of which there were plenty of options. Come hungry, come thirsty! Service is attentively excellent. Worth the wait on a weekend. read more

Well they have definitely fallen off. This once was my favorite place for pancakes and such. So today I tried it again the pancakes, WELL horrible. I didn't say anything but they were tough, not hot and doughy. I should have stuck to my guns and not return again. Disappointed read more

My first time was with my dad when we were in Mountain Brook for a real estate research. I remember having some scrambled eggs with french toast, which were all pretty good. Then, a few days ago, I came here for the second time not knowing that I had been here. On this visit, my fiancée and I ordered coffee (black) with some beignets. The sweetness of beignets goes really well with the bitterness of black coffee. Then, we had some crabcakes, pancakes (New Orleans style) - both very savory and seasoned perfectly. Potatoes were crispy, not soggy. The only thing I didn't like was the waiting in line part. There's a no waiting app that you can download to cut in line even before you get here. read more

I stopped in with family members who were in visiting from Charlotte. I absolutely loved it. I had pancakes and scrambled eggs. My guests had lobster benedict and Crab Cakes & Fried Green Tomatoes. All were great. The OJ wasn't fresh squeezed, but it was still good. The butter was the hard refrigerated variety. Wish it was whipped. read more

We tried this restaurant again after having a bad experience on our first visit. This time the service was well above average. The food was just as described and was delivered promptly. The delicious crab-topped fried green tomatoes did not come with any bread but we remedied that with a side order of English muffin. I would recommend Another Broken Egg to others now. read more

This used to be my favorite place for brunch. When I arrived, there was no wait. After being seated ,I saw why: indifferent servers lackadaisically cleaning the dining area and standing around gossiping . I left before my food was served. ABE, you're better than this! read more

Great service, friendly, and food so fresh & tasty! Even as a chain they hold to great standard.

So.... The process sucks to get a table. I put a reservation in to get a table. It told me 2 1/2 hrs for me to get a table. When I get there after 2 hrs they tell me it will be 2 1/2 more hours. There is no parking to wait for two additional hours. What's the point in being placed on the waitlist to be told you will have to additional time when getting there. Also the additional time was after closing. They wasted my time and several other groups of people time. read more

Horrible waitlist and management. Had no idea how long any party was going to wait for and completely made up wait times. Joined the waitlist at 9:05 and Waited an hour and a half (as we were told) and walked back in to check in and was told an hour and a half again. Completely ridiculous and not impressed with their staff. read more

I have been to Another Broken Egg countless times on Sunday mornings. Any time we have friends in town, that's their favorite place to go, because we never have to wait long, and it's delicious food. However, today when my friends and I got to Another Broken Egg around 10:40 (party of 5), we had to wait for over 45 minutes, and once seated, we saw plenty of open tables inside. This is not a typical experience I've had at this place. Our waiter came to take our drink orders, and we went ahead and ordered our food at the same time--we were so hangry!! :) our drinks didn't come for at least 10 minutes. When our food finally came (via another person, not our waiter), one of our group members' grits hadn't come, so we let the person know who had brought out our food. We had finished our meal and our waiter hadn't stopped by to make sure our meal was correct, nor had the grits come. We ended up flagging down the person who had brought our food, and he ended up going to get the grits. Our waiter didn't check on us until we were all finished with our meal and ready for the checks. I hope this isn't typical of the way Another Broken Egg is going, because it typically is my fave place to bring people for brunch when they're visiting from out of town. I'm only giving them a 4-star review because of previous experiences, but today was really a 2-star experience. Overall, they have great food, and it is worth the wait, if you're able to wait for it!!! read more

I've recently been informed by my dad that whenever I'm ready to drop the whole "adult" charade of working, he'll retire and we'll open up our own breakfast place. Interesting assumption there, pops. Nevertheless, it has been determined that if we want to one day own a breakfast shop, research must be done. Another Broken Egg didn't disappoint in our first stop of tour de bham breakfast. I never have high expectations for coffee in restaurants, but the coffee here was actually really good. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our mugs filled at all times. I had the sweet potato pancake to eat and it was so tasty! It was the exact replica of sweet potato pie in thick, fluffy pancake form. The pancake itself was only a hint of sweet, but cinnamon-marmalade syrup is what took it over the sweet edge. I would suggest asking for it on the side. My husband gave me his seasoned potatoes and they were good as well - kind of zesty in a way. Next time I'll be sure to get an egg centered dish - my younger sister let me try some of her eggs benedict and it was delicious, especially on the english muffin that all the egg dishes are served with. Be sure to get to Another Broken Egg early on the weekends. We got there right as they opened at 7 am and when we left around 8, it was very crowded and had a bit of a wait. read more

Food was good, wish it was more seating! But enjoyed it! Will be coming to eat here again soon.

I'm from California and have family in Birmingham so I visit every year or two. This was my first time here, but I'll make it a priority to come back. The eggs benedict might have been the best I've ever had. Service was great and the atmosphere was good. My only complaint, and I could say this about almost any restaurant in Birmingham, is how cold it is inside. I still can't believe how cold it is inside restaurants in the area. read more

One beautiful Saturday Afternoon visiting my parents in Bham, I decided to treat them to brunch. I love my hometown, but its sometimes hard to find those "hard to find" good spots to eat outside of their normal chain obsessions. I am soooo happy I ran across Another Broken Egg as a Facebook friend's status (a positive effect of social networking, who woulda thunk it?!) Please note there are no reservations and you WILL have a bit of a wait, but its so worth it. After 45 minutes we indulged in... -- Biscuit Beignets...yum! -- Mommy, not so adventurous, had the standard 2 egg meal...looked yum! -- Daddy had the Smoked Salmon omelette...yummier (yes I tried his)! -- I had the Mardi Gras omelette...yummiest! Each meal came with their famous home fries, and if they aren't famous, I'm claiming them to be famous. Can we say I cleaned my plate and then some?! Brunch is slowly becoming on of my favorite meals - Another Broken Egg...you have aided in the persuasion! read more

Just came in on a whim while in town on MLK day. I got the "Traditional" with their homemade sausage and substituted the "Country Grits" for the "Country Potatoes".
