Took forever for food to come out. My veggie omelet was very small and hardly had any vegetables in it. They also forgot the jack cheese I ordered in it instead of goat cheese. It took 15 min. to deliver my coffee I ordered right away. Awful potato side--just big chunks of fried potatoes--should be Hash Browns with eggs. My english muffin was hardly toasted and soggy. Quick wait after joining the waiting list and checking in (less than 10 minutes), was sat at the table by the hostess and ended up waiting 30 minutes for a waiter/waitress and decided to notify the hostess to ask if we could have a waiter/waitress to our table to order. After ordering we waited another 30 minutes for our food and one of our breakfast entrees was incorrect so had to wait another 15 minutes for the food to arrive correctly. My wife and I visited this location after seeing it held a 4.2 stars review. I added our name to the list and was told a 30-45 minute wait by the hostess. After an hour I realized people that had arrived after us were being seated. I checked with the hostess for our place on the waitlist and she said we were sixth in line. After waiting another half hour I checked with the hostess again and she said we were next to have a table. I then watched as she picked up menus and sat a couple that had also arrived to put their name on the list after us. Two other tables were seated before us when we were told we would be the next table. A couple arrived once we had been waiting for a table for an hour and a half and it was obvious the male knew people who worked there. He kept asking to be seated once he arrived and had not added his name to the waitlist. He kept pointing at an empty table and asking to be seated there. The hostess kept looking at my wife and I knowing we were next. We were finally seated and that couple was seated immediately after us when it was obvious they weren't the next to be seated. It was also obvious we had been skipped in our wait because I saw people seated and eating when they arrived long after we had. There is an obvious use of favoritism that if you know the staff you'll get seated earlier than others. Once we were seated the couple from before had received service before we were asked for anything. We even heard another server tell their server to "take care of them". The male in this couple continued to send eggs back because they "looked fake because they were yellow". It seemed as if the server we shared was working at his first job and this poor guy was made to take back eggs three times before the male realized egg yolks are actually yellow. Our food was average at best. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The grits were clumpy and the amount of powdered spice used was excessive. My wife order the chicken biscuit and it held no flavor. The presentation of the food was rushed and sloppy. It also seemed everyone was doing everyone else's job with the hostesses serving food and the servers figuring out the ipad system. This is a lot to read, but, there was a lot of favoritism for service and unless you know the staff I wouldn't recommend eating here. read more

I've dined here twice and had a great experience both times. Today it was super packed, I managed to snag the last two seats at the bar. Despite how packed it was we still got our food very quickly and everything was tasty. By far the best omelet I've ever had and I'm a big foodie. Please do not patronize this establishment , the manager Damaris is deplorable. I came to eat with my father to grab a quick bite on a Sunday , but I received my food before my drinks(45 minutes later to be exact). Further , we didn't receive silverware until 5 minutes after I received my food and my order was incorrect. I was amicable to waiting to receive the correct order , however I was told that it would be an additional thirty minute wait. When I asked for a manager Damaris came over and she was apprehensive to accommodate my party. Additionally, she diminished my concerns. Lastly, I was talking with my friend prior to our departure and then Damaris comes over to ask me if we can leave because they are busy and need the table which is fine. I asked " for five minutes and then we will leave " then she says " make it quicker than that". Needless to say I won't be back and I'll be sharing my experience via social media , my network in the community and Facebook groups that frequent this area. Thank you Damaris for curating an unsettling lunch experience. In essence , I hope that this review can serve as a training moment for managment (please start over if Damaris is the general manager) because I wouldn't want anyone other consumer to experience what I did today. The place was swinging, however service was friendly, but slow. Food was mediocre at best, at worst my husband thought the meat from the burger was turned. The food although advertising an interesting menu was basic. They advertise making their own sausage, but serve frozen potatoes and non toasted English muffins. You must bring your appetite, the menu has a lot of choices and the portions are huge. We were seated & served promptly. The pancakes & eggs were oh so succulent! Also I tried the chicken sandwich which has now become my favorite chicken sandwich in the DMV area, extremely flavorful and delicious! The establishment was thoroughly clean & remarkably welcoming. Coffee was so bitter it required a ton of cream and sugar. Staff did their best and were kind and friendly. The ambiance was as expected, First Watch pretty much, but the food was a bit too salty for me. I didn't finish my plate, and my waiter didn't seem to pay too much attention to my table to offer any refills. So my baby and I nursed our half cups til the end of the meal. Forgot my phone at end of the meal, didn't realize it until I passed Royal Farms, turned right around and ran back in to get it. I cannot speak to the atmosphere as I brought the food home. I just got off the phone with Karl with a k( he condescendingly clarified at the end of the call). My daughter got food poisoning from this place. She spent hours vomiting through the day and night. I left a review and even sent an email...all unanswered before I called and poke with Karl. Karl said corporate gets the emails. When i called and spoke with Karl, he suggested that I call at another time because I seemed "hysterical and seemed to only want my money back." I never asked for my money back in the call or in any of my reviews. We ordered food for my family who was in town, and sadly the food was undercooked and also spoiled. We got the shrimp and grits (sausage was undercooked and couldn't eat it). The sausage was more along the lines of undercooked hotdogs. The bread (possibly pita) in the shrimp and grits was packaged inside the grits and were soggy by the time we got them home. It sure why you would package bread inside grits for a to go order. The cheese was sprinkled on top of the eggs and not melted or blended in. We paid $1 extra for the onions on our potatoes and they were laying on top. It became a joke as we opened and consumed one bad dish after another. What because unfunny was the hours of pain and vomiting after eating here. I didn't get to share any of this with Karl because he was busy insulting me and each time I tried to speak he either asked me to stop speaking over him or said "what do you want from me?" This was very unhinged behavior. Even if this were just a very off day for the restaurant , Karl's attitude on the phone today as I called to share my experience with him at his establishment was just as terrible as the watery grits and food poisoning we dealt with. During Karl's rant, he shared that's he's been in the restaurant business for over 40 years. Karl, as a customer for over 40 years, please don't assume people want their money back. Again, I called to report to you that we were ill as a result of the food we ate AND that the to go food was bland and not packaged properly. I wasn't able to share much of this, so here I am. If someone was calling to tell me about their negative experience at my home, I'd certainly not tell them they were "hysterical and to call back tomorrow." Each time i tried to share my experience, he told me to call his lawyer (he never shared the information) or told me to stop speaking over him. I was floored by his response. Here's a lesson for Karl...A simple "I'm so sorry this was your experience as we aim to please each customer. We hope if you give us another shot, we can prove to provide a better experience." I know you didn't ask Karl, but my daughter has finally recovered and holding down liquids after hours in the bathroom. Customer service, flavor, and cleanliness will need to improve if this place plans to survive. Check the reviews for some of the delivery apps for this place. 0/10 would NEVER recommend. read more
