Most favorite shoes are the Keen brand. Only shoe I've found with larger toe box. Went online to their site for another pair. Previously bought from Pacific Outfitters in Arcata. Even though I'm vaccinated still prefer not leaving my house/garden. Keen was out of stock not knowing when they'll return. As I was complaining to neighbor she then told me about Annie's. Phoned. Was told they had that needed model and best yet, my size. I asked if they could mail to me. These days that can be problematic.(Thanks to evil De Joy). Same neighbor goes to Eureka several times a week saying she'd pick them up. Then Annie said she would be in my neighborhood the next day so would drop them off. And, she did. Shoes fit. So why 3 stars? Everytime I go in here the ladies follow me like flies on $h!T Like im not to be trusted and im going to stuff a pair of $200 boots into my clutch! Quit pressuring me to buy shoes! My experience at Annie's Shoes is also bad customer service. They seem to act like they are the best shoe store in the whole wide world and get offended when they are reminded they are not. Then act like you as a customer are not needed. Yes, shopping online is easier and return policies much better. Beware they do not refund any shoe that is on sale. No cash back, only exchange or in store credit. You must buy 5 or 6 shoes at whole $$$ price before you get a discount. Sale items are not counted. I will not shop there again. By the way I've bought about 7 pairs of shoes and when I asked about the 50% off they then told me sale items don't count. So still no discount yet because I bought on sale items. This place unfortunately may not be able to keep up with these bad reviews and poor customer service. read more

I am in LOVE. I wish we had An Annies where i live. This is the cutest shoe store ever. While we were visiting Eureka, we happened to drive past this cute store and i made my husband turn around and go back. They have all the best comfort shoes, and they have a HUGE selection. I don't think i have ever seen a store with so much variety. The pricing seemed to be spot on, comfort shoes are always expensive $100+ but they last a long time and your feet are comfortable when wearing them. I would much rather pay more money for comfortable shoes, than less money and be in pain. It's a good thing i live far away, or else i would spend my whole paycheck here. In spite of an amazing selection of shoes, Annie's has a lot to learn about good customer service in the 21st century when there are so many online options and other local options as well. I had a really unpleasant interaction with an extremely rude clerk (maybe owner or manager?) and although I am making a concerted effort these days to buy locally, I will not be giving my local business to Annie's. Why on earth would I choose to shop at a local establishment only to be treated disrespectfully, when I have so many options?? It is also worth noting that I am not alone in this experience of bad customer service at Annie's. I found a really cute pair of boots at Annies; however, they did not have the color I wanted in my size (7.5-the most average, common women's size--very easy to sell). I asked if they could order these in my size, and they said that they could call and find out. While the owner/manager-appearing person was on the phone with the shoe company, she asked another clerk to start ringing me up. When I realized that I had to pay up front---AND that I was told it would take 7-10 days for the shoes to arrive AND that they do not give refunds (only exchanges), I told them that I had changed my mind. (I am getting ready to leave on a long trip and need the shoes to arrive sooner). I politely apologized---only to have the owner/manager person tell me, "if you weren't really that interested, then I would not have called them." She was completely ungracious. She seemed very put-out by a simple customer/service business interaction---and SCOLDED me! Really? Scolding your customers---who have been nothing but respectful and polite? When I came back to return because it didn't match, they showed me a sign that was not fully displayed before saying only exchanges. The service was ok, but the business practise was shady. It is with heavy heart that i am giving Annie's one star today (because I have to, Yelp won't lete select zero) I love their selection of comfortable shoes but have had enough of being treated as though I am going to steal from them. It does make me feel better though having read that they do this to others as well. I work hard for my money and I enjoy a quality pair of shoes occasionally, but no shoe is worth putting myself through that. Especially when I can go elsewhere to other local vendors and be treated with more respect. This morning the manager/owner stood and watched me try on two pairs of sandals as though she thought I would split with them. It felt very icky. And this is what she does every time I go in there, despite that I have purchased at least 4 pairs of shoes there in the last 2 years and my mom shops there so much that she gets her 50% off regularly. They have nice shoes that fit the average person. Very limited for wide feet (1-2 styles in 1brand) and nothing for high arches/insteps.

Please, if you've never shopped here before, make sure to read the sign they have posted on the purchase counter before buying your shoes. I bought a pair of Alegria shoes for $130 last week. I wore them for the first time yesterday and the shoes did not support my ankles; ultimately my ankle rolled and I hit the pavement hard. I tried to return them today for store credit and was told, "no, we tell everybody to wear their shoes inside for the first week, we don't take shoes that have been worn outside." I told her nobody had told me this and she said, "we have this policy posted all over." (Another reviewer has included a picture of this, not sure if it is current or not.) She finished by telling me, "we don't sell used shoes here." During my visit last week the woman working was incredibly attentive and immediately took me around the store and started grabbing shoes for me, and I was so focused on what she was doing that I didn't have the time or the knowledge that I was supposed to look for posted policies. When I was checking out I was looking at the earrings and didn't see the posted return policy. It was never explained to me at checkout, even a simple, "hey, don't forget to check out policy" would have helped a lot. $130 is a lot of money for a student like me and I wouldn't mind if the shoes were usable, but right now I'm stuck with expensive shoes that aren't safe to wear. It's not entirely the store's fault, but please learn from my mistake! Annie's, please give your employees a reminder to tell everyone this policy or direct them to your sign so this doesn't happen again. Otherwise, the lady working last week was very nice and friendly, and they have a good selection of Alegria and Dansko if you like those brands. They also have cute earrings and funky/fun socks. They had a sales room but the staff was so incredibly friendly that I wasn't able to explore the store on my own and honestly hadn't seen the room until I went back today, so make sure to check that out. read more

I should have known they was to good to be true! Just bought a pair of Nike's the other day. So I would have a nice pair of shoes the next day when I seen my daughter.(1st time in a yr) thanks to covid..well long story short I showed up with Nikes that the bottoms was already coming off and all the little Air Max sticker had done came off...smh..this was the very next day I bought them!! Bought pair of sandals, national brand. Wore two months and the strap was coming apart. Took back to store. First thing they asked for sales slip. Did not have. Told me could do nothing. Finally asked them to pull receipts for day. Found the receipt and asked me where the second pair of shoes were that I bought. Don't know why that mattered. I had them on. After much arguing they said they would call the company regarding return. Before this I had to hear how much it cost them to do business.Said not my problem. They pointed to their return policy and was told could only have store return. After 3 days they called and said the company would replace sandals. After two weeks I called them and was told sandals came in. Went to pick them up and they were not the sandal I returned. They were an ugly pair of brown sandals. Mine were multi color and bright. They denied telling me they could replace same shoe. I asked her to come home and listen to message she left. She said I could not get my money back because I had them for two months and that isn't there policy. I said I was not returning due to not liking them. There was a manufacturing flaw. Finally she, don't know if owner, manager or salesperson, said I would have a refund. I told her I have never been treated so rudely by any business in Eureka. At first i was very impressed with Annies . I even took three of my friends down to purchase sandals there. Love the Keen's. I had purchased several high priced boots and sandals, which each time they would stamp the little 3x5 card that shows your purchases . One pair of the boots were more of a dress type boot. Which I did not wear all that often, when I did begin to wear them , the boot zipper broke on me and along with the stitching I had noticed was also coming loose around the toes. For the amount I paid for them( which was little under two hundred) to me it seemed like I should have not had these types of troubles. So when I was in Eureka next, I took the boots down to the store thinking I would have no problem with their help. I WAS WRONG. I was told basically I was shit out of luck and to take up the issue with the boot makers. I did not really expect them to exchange the boots as I had worn them. But I did expect a little understanding of my issue and at least given some honest attempts of making it right. They were very rude to me as they spoke on the phone to someone they knew and treated me like I was taking up their time. I asked if they could give me the phone number or web site that would be able to help. All the women did was cover the mouth piece on the phone and told me to find it myself. With that I told her I would never be back in to purchase anything they sold. In a very polite way .....mind you......;) I will not ever go back in and I anticipate the store closing due to poor customer relations and not standing behind their products.
