Prejudice & snobby blondie at the milkshake counter. Refused to give me my order gave it to someone else to do it. Never again!!

My dad and I are new to town and we found this place and we were so excited because it reminded us of a cute place we used to go to with my mom. My dad and went to Annie's every week for a couple weeks, and then this last time we went, it was a little busier than normal, but no wait. We sat down and my dad got the country fried steak (always good) and I ordered the sirloin and eggs (literally the reason we went was that I wanted steak and eggs). The server was super nice and lovely, took care of us and was great. My steak came out and it was raw in the middle (I ordered medium rare), it did look like part of it was more toward medium rare but most was pretty rare. So when the waitress came over I just showed her and she said "oh that's very rare, let me take that", without me even saying anything. It was obviously undercooked. About 10 minutes pass, the steak comes back out and it is very well done. Like overcooked, like curled in on itself. I told the waitress I was so sorry, but Its really well done and at this point, my dad was done with his food, so I just told her we would skip it and I'd pay for the two eggs I ate. 10 more minutes go by and the owner comes over and sits down to apologize (?), but goes on about how beef prices are rising and for me to not worry that she will give the steak to her dogs and that she graciously only charged me for what I ate. I'm totally down to pay for what I ate, but I don't care about meat prices or that the steak wouldn't go to waste (don't get me wrong, I'm happy for the dog). The steak wouldn't have gone to waste at all if it had been cooked properly. I could see her expoing in the kitchen, the steak should not have left the window like that. I wouldn't say the interaction was "bad", but it was definitely disappointing and weird. Unfortunately it won't be a regular stop anymore. read more

Just got done having my Mother's Day brunch at this place and I don't think that we could have picked a better atmosphere for our family of 6. Yes there was a slight wait but once we were seated the waitress and bus boys began to serve us efficiently and our food arrived pretty quickly. Annie's beats any chain diner you'll ever find in Southern California! The food is absolutely unbelievable, always comes out quickly and the servers are all knowledgeable and seem to enjoy their job. The owners actually came by and personally thanked me for stopping by again as they recognized me from bringing friends up for wine tasting (it's our go-to spot pre-wine tour). The owners, Paul and Carol, are super friendly and even if the restaurant has a wait, make you feel like you're the only customer in the place. First timer here, but definitely not the last. The ambiance is laid back, upbeat and relaxing. My family and I came on an early Sunday afternoon, sat right down without a wait. The servers were friendly. Our server made a public announcement to introduce my daughter's first time as she was given a funky hat to wear (the entire time, don't take it off unless you want to dance in public!) Sporadically the staff performs a short dance to fun upbeat music and if it's your birthday, very cute! They have quirky decor and an IQ game on the tables to keep you occupied as you wait. The breakfast was good, big enough portions and a good variety of menu items (breakfast and lunch). I ordered the cornbeef hash, it was flavorful, not too salty. My home fries were a bit bland, but probably my fault since I passed when our server asked if I wanted them with peppers and onions, the eggs and biscuit it came with paired nicely and was tasty. My husband ordered the "Double whammy" which he seemed to enjoy, but said the French toast wasn't very memorable. My daughter had the Belgian Waffle, eggs and bacon and enjoyed it. My only negative comment about this place was that the coffee in my opinion was lukewarm and got cold fast if you didn't drink it quick enough, but to compensate, the staff were always very quick to top off your cup even before it was empty! My rating would actually be 3.5 stars. I found this place through Yelp for a late lunch. We stopped here on our way home from a weekend at the casino. I don't like the food at Pechanga. According to the signs on the wall, they pride themselves on being the friendliest place in town. However, I wouldn't say they are unfriendly, but if the only one that acknowledges your existence is the waitress, it's not something to really brag about, ya know? The service was prompt, "friendly", and efficient. We really liked our food. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and loved the peppery gravy. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich. Loved it. Haven't had a good one in awhile. I had mine the way I think all should be made (deep fried) and it was crispy without being greasy. Many places make theirs either grilled or greasy soggy. [p.s. It was huuuuuuge.] I'd come back again to discover the other interesting menu items. I also wanted to try bangers and mash. The bad thing... The place was dirty. The tables and floor were dirty. Greasy smears on the dividers between the tables. Almost every single table I could see that didn't have people in it was dirty. The sign says "seat yourself", but I didn't want to sit anywhere. The waitress directed us to a table that was clean and set, but there were crumbs all over the seat. Yuck. Nobody seemed to be in a big hurry to clean it either. While we were there, all the tables remained dirty. If this is how they keep the area you can see, it just makes we wonder about the kitchen where you can't see. We've been here about 3 or 4 times now for breakfast and the service and food has always been good. The staff is super friendly and the owner is a lovely lady who seems to always be there on the weekends. They do fun things like make you wear funny hats and clap if it's your first visit and they also dance at random times during your visit to fun songs. But today was especially awesome as they honored 9/11 by observing a moment of silence and playing the National Anthem just at the time when the first tower was hit, about 8:45am. What's a pleasure it was to dine at this restaurant!! From when you walk in the door you can tell it's a nice cozy/clean place to eat breakfast. The staff is great and the waitress that took our order was outstanding. She explained a couple things about the menu without being in a rush and with such a great attitude. You could tell she loves her job and wants nothing more than the restaurant to be a success. All the food we ordered tastes great. We got our order brought right out without waiting long at all. Got the bill for our food and thought it was quite reasonable. I will definitely be back for breakfast again. With the service and the quality of food you get why not? I just don't see what the hype is all about. Went at 10:30 this morning for my kids birthday. It was a bland experience all around. Employees looked bored, not necessarily friendly but not rude either. But, they did the job. The food was absolutely nothing special. The eggs weren't great. My kids scrambled were, at least looked and tasted like, the imitation eggs mix. My over medium eggs were not cooked enough. I got charged $2.50 to add frozen blueberries to the pancake mix. Making my 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, sausage and bacon $12. Which, i wouldnt mind it was great food. The sausage looked old and hard. My sausage loving kids wouldn't eat them. The bacon is the thin and crispy cut. The rest of the food wasn't expensive. Just, nothing to return for. I did appreciate the speed of food coming out and the table iq brain game. But, we will stick to Marie callenders, richies diner, or carnitas express for breakfast though. read more

Was looking for a breakfast spot as we were heading out of Temecula for the weekend. Found Annie's Cafe on Yelp and decided to try it and so glad we did! It's a Britsh themed/decor restaurant and you'll find the owner Annie with her cute British accent manning the register. The wait: despite the crowds it was less than 10 minute wait. Service was great. Our server was Elise and she did an amazing job. Was attentive and got our order correct and was very friendly and even though it was packed and the servers were hustling she kept her smile and good attitude. The food: delish! I ordered the Denver omlet and home fries. Both were delish and cooked perfectly. The home fries even have bell peppers and onion. My fav! My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy that also came with eggs and hashbrowns. He said his was pretty good as well. Awesome! A very welcomed addition to an area in which great breakfast spots are extremely limited. They've got an extensive menu...something for everyone. I had the pleasure of dining at Annie's Cafe this past Halloween Weekend (2016). SHUT THE FRONT DOOR - I HAD SO MUCH FUN! Yes, I had fun. All the employees were dressed up. They did dances. They sang songs. They were seriously a blast. I could not stop smiling because the staff looked genuinely happy to be zipping around in full costume taking care of their customers. The customers had a blast too! This speaks so much to the general culture of Annie's Cafe. Well done! The Food/Drinks - The food was super tasty! I enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and side of hash-browns. The breakfast sandwich was not teeny tiny, and I was stuffed by the end. The food was great but the atmosphere was awesome. We were given silly hats and announced as Annie's newbies to the entire restaurant when our waitress found out we had never eaten there before. Every so often, the staff breaks out in song and dance and it seems like a great place they enjoy working. The food... the owner is English so it's a mix of traditional British fare (bangers and mash) as well as good Ole American favorites like omelets and pancakes.
