Went this past Sunday for breakfast. We were a party of 8. I had the Annie's Biscuit Special. It comes with hash browns/home fries off to the side, scrambled eggs, I substituted those to 2 over easy eggs, 2 sausage links piled atop 2 biscuits then smothered with gravy. Oooohh, tasty!!! My wife had the Red, White & Blue Waffle. That consisted of a Belgium waffle cooked with Blueberries, and topped with strawberries and whipped cream. She said it was very good. My wife, and I discovered Annie's Cafe by accident on the way looking for another place to eat when we stumbled across Annie's. From the moment we walked in we felt at home by the warm greeting from the cashier to the pleasant waiter who served us. This place is much more than a cafe'. The food was superb. We had breakfast, and it was nice to finally find a place to eat where the cook can make a soft scramble egg correctly. The place was a little crowded, but we were seated in less than 5min. We soon discovered why this eatery is so popular. It was our first time so we were given silly King, and Queen hat's to put on, and acknowledged that this was our first time. Staff was very rude to my daughters leadership group today. Took over an hour for them to take there orders and the waitress was slamming their plates down at them. One waitress also was talking crap about this party of 40 coming in with no heads up when in fact the teacher called prior. The owner and the wait staff are friendly and fun and even do a little dance for everyone that's goofy and gets the whole restaurant involved. You get to wear a silly hat if you've been there for the first time but it's not just the atmosphere that makes me want to go back. I ordered a Garden Skillet and customized it for myself by adding sunny side up eggs and no meat, I would rate the skillet 4/5. Annie's has to be my favorite restaurant. When I go there I always order the same thing, the Winston Churchill. It is an English breakfast and it comes with English bacon, bangers, eggs, beans, potatoes (I get them hash brown style), mushrooms and tomatoes. The bangers are great, juicy on the inside with a snap on the outside. The English bacon is nice and flavorful, it taste like it has the perfect amount of salt. I get a side of fried bread which looks like regular toast but by no means is. It is very good. That is probably my favorite meal ever. I was in England a year and a half ago and loved the breakfast over there. Then I come to find out about Annie's by where I live and it is just as great as the breakfast I had when I was over there. Service is good most of the time. The woman who I believe might be Annie, or for sure the owner is friendly and very attentive. One time they didn't cook the bacon to her standards and she apologized to me and had them make me another batch. I didn't complain she saw it as she was bringing out the food and said they cooked it too long. Taste wise the bacon was good but visually not up to her standards so I got to eat two orders of bacon. I recommend this to everyone. When someone visits me this is where I take them. I don't always go there but when I do it is always great. There are three guarantees in life: death, taxes, and that Annie's will always be delicious. read more

I understand that places have bad days sometimes. The owner, Jan, and I spoke about my previous experience at this location and I was given an option to return. I took her up on that offer, but not before I paid for a meal on my own dime again first. The experiences were much better on my last two visits, reminding me of what I liked about their sister restaurant. The hats, the hourly staff dance (the choreography is impressive on the current "Uptown Funk" song), the British decor both inside and out, and of course, the food. Their breakfast and lunch menus are extensive. I had the Number One (egg, bacon, two pancakes). The pancakes have a classic diner appeal with their large size and delicious fluffiness. I also had a little something called the Cupcake Macchiato, which on a rainy day akin to typical British weather brought a warm, sweet comfort to my taste buds. On my most recent visit I had the Monte Cristo (you can request it deep fried but it is not for the faintest of hearts) but look forward to returning for other menu great looking items--perhaps another full English breakfast (Winston Churchill order) as I'm now assured the plate will be served on par with what I tried at the original location. The waitstaff was attentive and the dining room was filled with patrons on both occasions. I've been a fan of the Lake Elsinore Annie's location, and now after giving them another shot I can say I'll be coming back to this Temecula location. It's a treasured local business with the sweetest of owners. I appreciate Jan's efforts to make sure all of her customers are satisfied and acknowledge what needs to be improved. The service is also amazing - the sweetest ladies ever and always willing to do the most for you so that you have a good experience, even when they're super busy! Today, we brought our dog and planned to sit outside (they usually have outside area available) but they did not today, due to short staff.. they STILL sat us and made sure we were taken care of. Reviews misleading restaurant had a terrible scent. Management acknowledges the bad odor from the women's restroom. Waiter places us at a table near the restroom. Would not recommend dining in only to order out if you enjoy a simple breakfast. This was my first experience coming to this cafe, did not like that my food was served on a cracked plate. We had originally planned to eat at a different establishment on Sunday, however, it was completely booked. We found Annie's as another option. They quickly made room for our large party at a table outside. Annie put up with our mischievous husbands and had a witty response to any of their comments which kept us all entertained. On October 17, I placed an order for takeout/pickup at 10:00am. I showed up at 10:30am at the estimated pick up time. I was told to go to the bar area for pickup. There was someone ahead of me also waiting to pick up their order, who asked me if anyone has talked to me about my pick up, and I said no. After 10 minutes, the person ahead of me finally got their food and told me "good luck" as they walked past me. I waited another 10 minutes before someone helped me with my pick up. I'd seen that my food was sitting on the kitchen window for 15 minutes before they moved it to the pick up table before it was handed to me. I didn't even leave the restaurant until 10:55am. I waited 25 minutes INSIDE for a pick up which I placed ahead of time. By the time I got home to eat it, it was all cold.
