I chose Durb's based on the great reviews and the fact that my brother had always wanted to visit. My wife and I both ordered smash burgers - she opted for tots, I went with mozzarella sticks. The sides were both perfectly standard, but the burgers were anything but. The difference between these smash burgers and most is that these were real thick boys. I was kind of shocked how much food this was. The sauce was great, but I was already full around the halfway point of the burger. I don't say this to complain, but my favorite smash burgers are usually lighter than a normal burger. This was anything but. We ate these at 1:30pm and I didn't need to eat again the rest of the day. I finished with a pistachio cake slice and enjoyed that probably more than the burger. Cool concept! I'd love to come back again, especially to try today's special, which was a Chicago dog burger. But for visit #1, I wanted to stick with what they are famous for.

Flavors were good, I had just hoped the patty fit the bun a little better. The ratio was a bit more bun sided than oatty sided. My fries, crinkle cut, were seasoned well. Well enough that no ketchup was needed to dip them into for additional flavor. I would have liked a bit more crispiness from a double fry, but these were toothy enough to get a decent mouth feel. The meal for the three of is was about 47.00, so inflation has also hit my hometown dining places as bad as they have hit my current home near The Woodlands.
