This comfy lounge + 2 beds. Wow!

Like Kate M, the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel was IMO overall FABULOUS! What's not to love except perhaps the price. However, you know the price upfront. We stayed 1 night, all we wanted to afford, on a Tuesday night and the price was just shy of $600. We went for my milestone BD on a July Tuesday. We had a water view with balcony and 2 beds. The view from the balcony made it so very special. Being serenaded by a Navy Band on the pier late afternoon was priceless. Then there was some other pier function we could listen to from our balcony-sensory overload y'all. Being from Charles County MD, about 1.5 hour drive away, and to be able to enjoy this place is so perfect. We were in room #420. OBTW: Unbeknown to us breakfast was included for 2 guests only in the restaurant downstairs. That includes anything under the "Classic Breakfast" portion of the menu and the Eggs Benedict, juice and coffee. The view from the restaurant is awesome at least at breakfast when the restaurant is relatively quiet. I'm going to do it again. I may bring my caviar, Champaign and fix-ins with us next time. We went home this time for that, capping off my BD. My attached photos says the rest.

A lovely place for a wedding! Great outdoor and indoor venue in the perfect waterfront location. While the banquet hall food was lackluster and cold, everything else was great!

The only thing this Hotel has going for it is location. Who ever owns and runs this Hotel should be ashamed. Marriott should be ashamed. Dirty rooms, mold on my bathroom ceiling, mold along shower edges. Noise constantly coming from who knows where. No where to go down and sit with a cup of coffee. If you weren't ordering breakfast you can sit at a table along the water and have a cup of coffee. If you went to the bar for a drink at the end of the evening, 100 young kids are drinking at their restaurant bar. It was not a pleasant stay, and I would never recommend anyone stay there. Marriott you should do better.

Waterway view from restaurant window.

This hotel definitely has the appealing down pat, and the area has an interesting history to learn about, so the hotel and rooms are teaming with those historical artifacts, pictures, and stories. The rooms are attractive and clean, and you cannot beat the 'waterfront' view. We were on the first floor, so I worried we wouldn't see the water, but we had a nice view! There is also a nice bar-restaurant, Prussers Caribbean Grille. Many other food and drink options are also within walking distance to the hotel. Comforts and necessities, and somewhat the security were lacking, in various ways: *Bed was okay, but pillows were a bit too firm to match the softness of the bed, so it was hard to get comfortable. *The patio door did not lock, and it opens to a shared deck, boardwalk to go out and sit, or view that part of the waterway. Meaning, anyone could have opened our door from the outside. To be clear, I did not feel unsafe, but it is still a bit concerning. *There was no access to necessities, snacks or drinks, other than the coffee and water in the room, unless the gift shop was open. Usually, some things can be purchased at the front desk, at the very least, but they did not have anything for purchase and there were no vending machines for snacks or drinks.

Due to our work schedules we only had 9/29 and 9/30 off so Hubby decided to whisk me away to Annapolis for my Birthday. He booked this hotel for a 1 night stay. We arrived about 4pm (late check in) after our lunch feast on crabs over at Cantler's, and it was an easy check-in. Front desk staff was so polite and helpful with our luggage, I know we looked a little sunburned and food coma'ish, which is why she offered us a both a nice bottle of ice water. This was weekend before the big yacht show and it was busy-busy everywhere. We got up to the room, top floor and hubby had flowers in the room and huge basket of all my favorite sweet snack munchables, waiting for me. The man knows my sweet tooth lol, it was a beautiful room with a view of the waterway, I loved it. There was also nice little fridge and a big TV, a large comfy chair which I immediately sat down on and plopped my feet up on the ottoman, aah so relaxing. Eventually, I checked out the bathroom which had a large shower, and instead off little bottles of shampoo and stuff on the sink counter, there was a large wall dispenser of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I was so happy to see it was C.O. Bigelow's Lavender and Peppermint, I use this brand at home and absolutely love it!! in the closet there were complimentary robes and slippers and a full length mirror. Eventually I couldn't keep my eyes open and I literally passed out on the bed, it had the most comfortable mattress and pillows. I woke up after my power nap- refreshed and got ready for dinner. Because we had late check in and check out (4pm), the next day, we didn't have to rush to leave, we relished the opportunity to sleep in and enjoy a lazy lovely breakfast and the view the the boats being brought in for the show. Every staff member I spoke to at the hotel was professional and friendly wonderful customer service, I told my Hubby, that he should feel free to whisk me away to Annapolis any time, because it was such a great getaway, we just need to do it again and stay here.

Such a lovely hotel experience... and dog friendly! It has been a long time since I can say I've stayed at a super nice, attentive hotel. Valet service was excellent, the concierge was great, and staff were so friendly. I'm not sure who wrote all of these bad reviews, but I had a great time. Do you see that bathtub? Yeah, I had a very nice, relaxing stay. Wonderful view. Comfortable sleep. And I had absolutely no anxiety about my dog staying over. They were just so nice. Definitely recommend.

False fire alarm at 4:21 AM - oops.

Here's what you get for $1000/night. We booked late for the 2021 US sailing boat show, so the rates were through the roof. But the location at the epicenter of the US sailing show was perfect and, of course, the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel is part of the Marriot family, of which we've been members for years. It was what we wanted. I'm writing this review during my stay - can't get back to sleep after the fire alarm went off at 4:21 AM (see photo). Someone who looked like a head-of-security type told us there was a fault in the fire alarm system. Anywhoo, here's what we're getting for, yes, $1000 USD per nite: * A decent room - clean, good view, comfortable beds - I'd pay, say $195 a night and feel good about it under normal, non-price gauging times. * Plenty of opportunities to serve yourself. For example, we called the valet to request that someone bring our luggage to the room since we had arrived early and left our luggage with the valet while waiting for the room to be cleaned. We called from our room to request the luggage and were informed we'd need to come down to pick it up ourselves. Ah, ok. * Wanted to order room service last night. No room service menu in our room. Hmm, so we called room service to inquire about a menu and were told to come on down to the restaurant to pick one up. we asked if someone could bring one to our room. Nope. We were in a pj's already and didn't feel like getting dressed, so we used grub hub. Two hours later, we got stone-cold food. All good. We were hungry. * In general, the staff tends to be a bit abrupt and unwilling to serve. This might be a cultural thing in the area? We're from San Diego. There could be a legitimate difference in attitude there. The staff did the minimum necessary to skate by without having to go out of their way and weren't what I'd call pleasant or even all that helpful. But there have been exceptions. * During the 4:21 AM fire alarm glitch, no hotel staff that I could see were offering any guidance as to what to do. Was there a real fire? When could be go back inside? What the hell happened and who's in charge around here anyway? Where was the hotel manager on duty! At this hotel, you get the trappings of a 3-star hotel (perfect marina-centric locale), the service of a Motel 6, and rates of a Ritz Carlton on Times Square. If it's the only room in town and it happens to be the best imaginable location (and you can afford to pay highway robbery rates) then why on earth wouldn't you stay here? No brainer. In fairness, the boat show is incredibly busy and the hotel is fully booked, with hoards of people, including thousands of regular boat show attendees. Still, when you stay in a hotel with premium rates, you tend to expect premium service. When I stay in a Motel 6, I'll gladly do everything myself. When I stay at the Waterfront Hotel, I guess I'll do the same and feel like I'd rather be in a cheap dive? At least it would make sense. It's all good. We made some new friends who were also bewildered at the lack of service and , disorganization. We grumbled together. It was the highlight of our stay:) And, lest you think I'm a diva or something, I don't mind serving myself - at all. Just refund 3/4 of my hard-earned booking fee and I'll consider this stay a fair deal.

That's right... bring your own soap, because this is all your get for your entire stay.

If you like "Glitzy" facade style hotel, you will like this once wonderful old-world classy hotel at the Waterfront. And if you are into the whole Gray themed thing, this will be just the place for you. Yuck. No thanks. Make sure you don't bring too much clothing on your stay here... there were ZERO drawers in the room. And six of those clumsy hangers with the little clips. Oh, and bring a bar of soap because you only get one small half dollar size vanity soap that you have to bring from the sink to the shower. Empty shampoo dispenser in the shower. Oh, for $700 a night on a Saturday, don't expect anyone to make your bed. Get ready to scroll through all the TV Channels to see what is playing because there is no information on the"Guide" ... its all blank and just rolls and rolls continuously. Our room on the sixth floor had a decent view but felt like we were crammed into a closet. Hats off to the valet, they had their act together. Other than that the staff was just bored and non-engaging. At least Motel 6 has some interesting characters behind the shatter-proof glass windows. Was it worth $2K for a three day stay? I think not. Marriott, just ain't what it use to be. At least not at this place.

We completed the Pre-Check in on the Hilton App (Gold Member) it allows us to select rooms and run your credit card thru. Then sends a digital key.. we hand selected 2 rooms. What went wrong: We arrived and the front desk clerk seemed bothered that we approached him. Told him I completed the digital check in and wanted a physical key for the second room (my father's 80, and wanted a physical key) he asked me for ID.. then asked for the credit card.. no problem. Then he asked me to swipe my credit card, which I informed him. I've already done the check in, just needed a key. He said I have to swipe the card.. I obliged.. he does the same for the second room. This whole time im challenging him bc this doesn't sound right. During this time, I notice 4 charges for the room come thru on my banks digital app.. weird but he insisted nothing to worry about they will drop off.. As a gold member you usually get a credit for the gift shop or credit towards breakfast.. nothing was said or no sort of welcome to the hotel.. just awful customer service Now the fun part, I get to my room. And I pull up my Hilton app.. I notice a TOTAL OF 4 rooms checked in... when I only booked two.. I call the front desk.. this doesn't seem right.. I also notice 4x the amount of money for room charged to my card.. over 1300 taken out of my account.. didn't seem right I go downstairs, composed but frustrated.. he explains that HE MADE A MISTAKE and will fix it.. keep in mind the 2 rooms I never got.. then he asked if I knew another guest with my same last name. Which I said I do not.. This made me worried and stressed during my stay due to him checking in extra rooms under my name.. Again, someone who travels for work and stays at hotels all over.. this was one of the worst customer experiences..from the unwelcome check in, to the over charges to asking me if I knew someone else staying there.. nobody ever called to apologize or said sorry. The only thing the front desk agent did was have the charges reversed quickly.. If you are staying in Annapolis spend a few more dollars and go elsewhere..

The Historic Inns of Annapolis is three separate locations: the Maryland Inn, Governor Calvert House, and the Robert Johnson House. I stayed at the Governor Calvert House. My room was a double queen, quite large and very nice. The location is great from a walkability perspective - whether you're in Annapolis for work or tourism, the Governor Calvert House is close to many attractions: the State House, Main Street, City Dock, historic homes, etc. It's also close to many restaurants and bars. They offer valet parking, but there are also several parking garages in the area (that can get crowded during legislative session). I opted to drop off my bags and check in and then moved my car to the Hillman Garage, which worked fine. The best thing about my stay? The staff. I forgot toothpaste (insert facepalm emoji here), so I called the front desk and they brought a complimentary toothbrush and mini toothpaste to my door, which was incredibly nice. Each of the properties within the Historic Inns of Annapolis are a little different, but I enjoyed my stay at the Governor Calvert House, and I'd certainly be willing to stay there again - especially considering how affordable it is (I only paid $150 for my mid-week, one-night stay in January!).

The lobby rooms, while distinguished and unique, are actually quite small. However , the room with the glass bottom was extraordinary showing the original floor. The reservation process was awkward and non-informative and required three calls to get it right. The personnel were certainly polite, but they weren't knowledgeable about which of the hotels had an elevator, and which were more easily accessible for someone with a disability. In fact, one picture shows steps in front, but nobody seemed to know that you could walk around the steps to get into the hotel and that there was an elevator. The front desk was very polite and friendly. However, we reported a few things which weren't attended in a timely manner. The toilet was stopped up and we asked somebody to fix it before we returned but upon our return after an hour and a half it wasn't attended to. It took two attempts to get the TV to work with the remote. The technical employee was very nice, but it took two times to get it right. We were told the parking would be $29 but it turned out to be $50. That said the valets were very quick and accommodating. There is an app that manages the parking and they recommend a seven dollar tip. You decide. During the checkout process, we asked for a receipt, but the receipt did not include the total charge for the hotel at all. Also, the online receipt was very difficult to follow and needs improvement. The best feature by far is the extraordinary location on a red brick circle adjacent to the capital building. It is a beautiful location, a block away from downtown and all these great shops and restaurants. I thought that the rooms were extraordinarily clean. The carpet in the room was beautiful, and the furniture was distinguished. However, overall, the lighting was dark . It would've been nice if the room had a small comfortable armchair rather than just a bare desk chair. We did appreciate that the bathrooms had chair rails. The step-in shower was appreciated for someone with a disability. Overall, we appreciated some of the positive things about this hotel - especially the location. We felt the staff was eager to please but stretched too thin. Worth a visit perhaps, but we won't be returning.

Sometimes the little things are the big things! And while I love the Marriott brand it's employees like you Leslie that go above and beyond that keep me loyal to the brand. Keep up the good work! My room was 434 and had a nice modern mirror with back lighting which was perfect for applying makeup. There was plenty of natural light and artificial light options. The shower was clean but the water pressure was just a tad lower than I would have liked. They do provide the ability to change the pressure on the shower head so that helped with rinsing out the shampoo and conditioner. This was probably one of the cleanest bed spreads from a hotel. The place was co-designed by West Elm and is clean and has all the amenities you need. There was free breakfast I didn't take advantage of as it ended too early! They also accommodated a request for a later checkout and had an electric charging station available. Super convenient and reasonably priced and employees like Leslie!

The juice (OJ, cranberry grape, apple juice) are in individual containers in the fridge with the yogurt under the counter near the bagels. Hot coffee & hot water for tea is nearby but away from the breakfast items which helps with the flow of traffic. Front desk was pleasant & efficient. They have an indoor pool/ whirlpool which we didn't use. I like Springhill Suites because they're always spacious, clean and contain a sofa bed and separate tv area as well as a microwave & mini fridge. I think this particular one was renovated. The sink area is outside the bathroom, so if someone needs to brush their teeth or primp they can while someone is showering or using the commode. Not a huge deal, but I prefer that the toilet not be so close to the shower. It was 5 inches or so from the shower door, it was close. You can't physically enter the shower from that end obviously, nor are you supposed to, if you wanted to due to the toilet obstructing the way. No sink inside the bathroom. The closest is walk-in & huge. I almost feel like they should have utilized the closet space or some of it to put in a separate toilet from the shower. However, I get it. It depends on where the plumbing is located. At the foot of the bed, the pathway to the bed closest to the window is narrow. The lighting is great! They have recess lighting & reading lights at the head of the bed . Plenty of electrical outlets and a desk, chair and floor lamp and desk lamp. AC /heat works wonderfully. I like the room cold and unfortunately tend to freeze out my friends/family. It actually got too cold for me that I turned up the temperature and my friend asked if the heat was on. I agree with prior guests regarding paid parking. I knocked off a star because charging for parking is obnoxious & unnecessary where the hotel is located. There are plenty of spaces. As of current (8/2024) it costs $9.50 for 24 hr parking, in & out privileges this includes the service fee. There is no gate entrance to the lot. You pay for parking separately via scanning the QR code. They recently started to charge for parking. There are other Marriott hotels to choose from, but this one has the lowest charge for parking. It's a good location. But it's near busy roads that aren't conducive to walking to places. It is fairly close to a hospital if needed, or if you need to be close to someone in that particular hospital.

My company booked it so I had no choice. Initial impression is a cool historic place. Yes, you check in at the other location and walk a few blocks, but that's part of the historic charm. You walk in and it's all cool antique furniture. The musky smell adds to the historic charm. I noticed the closed off front desk area and thought "that's odd". I went to my room (1402) and noticed first off that the door was warped. I had to use my body to bump it open once the key was accepted. Once inside it was small but nice. The ac unit was a little loud but expected in such an old place. The closet was huge, but something told me to keep the door closed (it gave a spooky feeling). One of the activities that my company booked was a haunted tour that we did the second evening there. First red flag is that it starts in front of the Maryland inn. On the tour they explain why the front desk is t staffed...the hotel is haunted and they can't get anyone to work there at night. I rolled my eyes, yeah right. Then they told a story about a bride who died there in the 1700s who haunts the hotel. She stayed in room 1405 (the same room my boss was staying in). Turns out that my boss heard the famous sounds of her pacing in the room, her high heels clicking on the wooden floors (the floors are now carpeted). On the 3rd night I was texting my boss around 1am because I started hearing noises. He heard them too. The noises got louder and louder until it was the sound of someone pounding on my door. That got harder and harder u til I could see the bottom of the door come in about 3 inches every time it got hit.when it stopped I looked outside the door and saw a giant man (about 6'6", 300+ lbs). I asked if he heard that noise, he just looked at me and the started coming at me. I yelled "dude, wrong room" and slammed the door. A mi Ute later my boss was at my door and said he heard this guy fall down the stairs. My boss and I the. Grabbed out luggage (uber was taking us to the airport at 4am anyway) and walked to the other building to report the incident. In the end, I got a call from the hotel manager saying that the guy (a drunk guest apparently) wanted to pay for my last night in the room. I have more questions than answers, but I can say that I'll never be returning. Look up the ghost stories, apparently they are well documented and are consistent with what I experienced (I'm not including all details here).
