Pawtiques has been grooming my dog Scooter since he was a young puppy, and now he's 10 years old! Every visit, they still manage to make him look as handsome as ever. What I love most is how much the staff genuinely care about the animals. Even when Scooter is groomed by a student, I completely trust them because they take their time, treat him with kindness, and clearly have a real love for what they do. As a senior dog mom, finding people I trust with my baby means everything. Scooter may be 10 years old, but he'll always be my baby, and I know he's in good hands at Pawtiques. Thank you for taking such great care of him all these years! read more

TLDR: cut is okay and service not too friendly. We're new to the area and found this groomer seemed to have good reviews. Booking was easy over the phone. We dropped our little shih tzu poodle mix off and showed them the cut we wanted (a photo of a previous cut he got). Picked him up and he did not look like we requested/was much shorter in the face, almost shaved all his chin hair off. My husband went in to pick him up and he said the staff wasn't too friendly either, which doesn't track with other reviews. We are used to getting a little report card on how our dog did from our previous place (I know that's not necessary); when he asked how our pup did in the appt, they didn't really give him any response and just handed our dog over. It was $95, and while it's not the worst cut he's ever had there's not much making us want to go back. read more

Anna is always wonderful with my babies. I've taken them to her twice already, and they always come back happy and looking great. My babies are 13 and 10 years old, so finding someone gentle, patient, and trustworthy is extremely important to me. I had a very bad experience at PetSmart, where one of my babies was dropped from the grooming table. I had to take her to the vet, who confirmed that the hip inflammation was consistent with a fall. I reported the incident to PetSmart, and although they opened a case, I never received any follow-up or resolution. Because of that experience, I was very nervous about taking them to another groomer. My veterinarian recommended this place, and I'm now about to bring them back for a third visit with Anna. She is kind, caring, and truly excellent at what she does. Knowing my senior babies are in good hands gives me so much peace of mind. Thank you, Anna! read more

The staff was very friendly and my yorkie came out looking cuter than ever! The location is great and there is ample parking.

12/6/24: grooming with SI YI. i called and made an appt for our 2 dogs. we were scheduled with someone else and she gave the appt to si yi, who did great. we'll see her again! affordable. you can tip in venmo or cash. rly unassuming grooming shop that doesnt look like much on the outside but lots of personality through the front door! i was pleasantly surprised by the waiting room bec our last grooming shop didnt have that. definitely a busy shop bec a dog drop off came before and after my drop off. will be back soon! read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!!If I could put zero stars I would !!!, I take my dogs here all the time and I have a senior dog who is very traumatized and scared of groomers but she would tolerate this place for a couple months because I thought they were treating her well. She's a very difficult dog to groom and I let Sisi know that and I always get charged extra for her which I don't mind because I thought she was being treated well, the last time I took my dog here she came back with nicks all over her body and not just that but she was flinching at every move I made towards her and now she will not let us put her a leash on her AT ALL!! The moment she looks at the leash she starts whimpering and whining. She fights the leash and cries every-time we try to bathe her and brush her hair. And when we brought this up to sisi she just used the excuse of that she's a difficult dog and they had to have 2 people to groom her. I think they used way too much force and cruelty because no animal should be this traumatized after a grooming these people are cruel and inconsiderate of dogs who need a little more care than other these people are cruel. Never coming back. read more

This is very belated, as I have been taking my dogs here for over a year. I have two huskies, and Kate does a phenomenal job grooming them. When I pick them up they look like they lost five lbs in fur, and I actually have a few days of no/reduced shedding after. And my big guy greets Kate with kisses when we arrive so clearly they are treated well there. All the other staff are incredibly friendly as well. They clearly love animals here. Prices are pretty standard but the effort is worth it. My dogs can be here for up to six hours for a grooming appointment and the results speak for themselves! read more

Took my BADLY matted Maine Coon cat in today for a bath and lion cut. Kate (Katie?) was her groomer and did an excellent job, as I have come to expect from Annandale Pet Spa. My kitty came home looking beautiful and clean and had an adorable bow on. The best things about Annandale Pet Spa are that they always do a great job AND my cat comes home relaxed and not stressed out. I highly recommend them for your pets! read more

As much as I do not want to leave a negative review, I feel that it would not sit right with me not to share my experience. This was my first time taking my dog to get groomed here. Based on the history of positive reviews I felt comfortable and decided I would give Annandale Pet Spa a try. I booked a full grooming service. With their service they require all dogs to be dropped off in the morning. I met with my groomer Sisi and explained to her what type of cut/look for my dog. She asked if I would like nails trimmed and I said yes. My experience up until this point was all positive as the staff were very polite and friendly. When I returned to pick up my dog, I noticed that in BOTH of my dogs EYES was SCRATCHED. I showed the groomer and she dismissed it and said it was hair. She then proceeded to rub my dogs eyes to which my dog yelped in pain. She created a larger tear in one of my dogs already scratched eye. She dismissed everything I said and was not concerned whatsoever. When I looked at the rest of my dogs body, I noticed that the nails were cut very jaggedly. Sisi responded before I said anything. She said that my dog did not like her nails cut and that's why her nails looks jagged. I'd like to note that prior to seeing my dog, I asked for an envelope to tip Sisi. I noticed I did not have enough cash and asked what her Venmo was so I can Venmo the remaining tip. I tipped her $18 for a $80 service. I quickly grabbed my dog and left. I did follow up and call to share my experience. I have not received a call back, an apology, or response. I understand and know mistakes happen but dismissing and not addressing the issue is not a way to handle this. I will never return here. Please be aware if you do decide to choose this as a grooming choice for your pets. read more

My friend recommended Annandale Pet Spa and it was our first time going to the groomers for our 9 month old cockapoo. I've heard some scary stories of how cuts can go terribly wrong. Annandale Pet Spa was simply AMAZING! The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. We were able to schedule an appointment with no problems and they took their time since it was his first time. We are lucky to have found a trusting and reliable place. Highly recommended! read more

I took my stray cat here as she was dirty and needed it. My multiple attempts to clean her resulted in a blood bath so I decided to go to the professionals. Joe was so kind and patient. After explaining and showing him my attempts he understood. When I came to pick up my girl she was clean, soft and smell amazing! Joe did a fabulous job and I was so grateful he took his time with her in order not to upset her as this is her first time. Definitely recommend this place! read more

This salon is a bit hard to find. But find it I did and boy am I happy! To start with, the pet spa in S Washington in Old Town Alexandria broke my pups leg when she was 4 months old. She was in a cast for 7 weeks with no outside activity and mostly crate living with lots of sedation. Naturally, I was hesitant to find a groomer after that experience. I got lucky when I found this spa. Annandale Pet Spa has a staff that is considerate, patient and careful with your pet. They have groomed my Sansa since the horrible experience in Old Town. Joaquin clarifies all the services before he starts. The spa schedules appointments easily on the phone. They also call you as soon as your pet is ready. My Sansa has never returned with any degree of trauma. She is as happy to go there as she is to return to me when I pick her up. Her grooming is perfectly done and she smells great. They are a bit of a distance from where I live, but worth the drive. They are professional and consistent, and gentle with my dog. That's all I can ask for. read more

Has a great experience at Annandale Pet Spa! Took my puppy here for his first cut and everyone was so welcome and nice. Don't book with Stola (I think that's her name). Maybe it's just her but I will never be going back here to get my cat groomed. This is only my second time going here, the first time Kate did an amazing job with my cat. She took a few minutes with me before the service and clarified what she would be doing and the cost of the treatment, got to know my cat a bit and even texted me throughout the service with updates and questions she had. Overall I was pleased with her work and was still interested in going back until today. When I arrived it felt like Stola was in a rush despite me being the only person in the store. Asked me what I wanted, and I told her I wanted a trim for my cat and her nails clipped. Then she mumbled something under her breath and took my cat to the back, and never came back to the counter. No getting to know me or my cat, no clarity on exactly what to expect of my service or anything. She didn't even tell me that I could head out. This would have been easier if there was just somewhere with the prices and services written down but there's no website and nothing in the store indicating that that's easily accessible to guests. Regardless I had the conversation I expected to have with my groomer with another person working there, who let me know I was misquoted the last time I came in. I was told to my memory that there was a $45 cut, and nail trim treatment. Today however, I was informed anything with cutting was $100. So I explicitly stated whatever the $45 treatment was, that's what I wanted. So how do I then get a call an hour later from Stola saying she trimmed my cat and it would be $100... Wth??? They corrected it and only charged me the $45 which I appreciate them for and would have let this whole incident go by as just a miscommunication, and maybe even just booking with Kate next time- but ... When my cat came home to me I was shocked to see her coat was cut very poorly, it was a very choppy cut, she wasn't even brushed, and about 5 whiskers on the left side of her face were cut more than half their original length. That was the final straw for me, this wasnt even communicated to me that this could happen, and if it was an accident I'd understand but it feels very weird to me. I don't like the vibes. If she had a question about something she could have texted me and I would have clarified it with her. Don't do something you're uncertain of, its best to just ask for clarity. read more

The groomer here really did a wonderful and thorough job washing and grooming my Ragdoll! Only downside is communication is a bit patchy. On more than one occasion I was told they called me to pick up my cat when in reality I never received a call. I was late to picking up my already anxious cat due to lack of good communication. If a customer doesn't pick up--call again! Or better yet leave a voicemail and/or text. Pets shouldn't be left there waiting longer than they need to be. read more

Amazing hidden jem!!! I have been taking my cats here for last couple of years for nail trims - the owner is fabulous!!!!! Great place.

We have two American cocker spaniels. Anyone who has ever had one of them will understand that they are VERY Difficult to groom. Lots of fur all over the place and easily matted. Annandale Pet Spa has been grooming our cockers (this our second set) for almost 20 years. We've tried lots of other places before that. This is the best. And also the best value for money. This is not an assembly line: personal care for every dog. And the love 'em! read more

I took my terribly matted part-Maine Coon cat in on Saturday. She was a MESS, no lie. When I picked her up, she had a lovely lion cut and no mats whatsoever! I chose this groomer based on the reviews, and I am SO glad I did. I have an elderly rescue dog who is very anxious and has a ton of separation anxiety. When anyone who isn't family comes in my home, she hides behind me and begs to be picked up - and that's in my own home! But as soon as I brought her in, everything went smoothly. All my concerns and warnings - like, she WILL bite through a lead or leash in seconds if given a chance! - they agreed as if they took these concerns to be commonplace. They were gentle with her physically and spoke soothingly to her. They called not that long later to say she was ready to go, and I was thrilled with the results. Yes, she was fluffy and clean and smelled sweet - but even better, she was only "normal anxious" to get back to me. She even tolerated being put down to sniff around the place some on leash - and she was completely her normal affectionate self! She even licked the owner's fingers good-bye, which is a very rare sign of favor. Clearly she liked them, and they appreciate her loving nature under the anxiety instead of treating her like some kind of problem child. This was all an hour ago, and she's been herself - but even happier! - ever since, bringing me toys to play with and cuddling even a little more than usual. THANK YOU to Annandale Pet Groomers, and I will absolutely be back for all our grooming needs!! read more

They did a horrific job on my Doodle. Went from looking cute and handsome to coming home with a weird cartoon like face and a shaved down body - about 1/4 inch. They also left the tail bushy and untrimmed which looks ridiculous - kind of like the tail hanging down from a Raccoon cap. This appeared to be a rush job with a lot of unevenness. I spend a lot of time each day brushing and keeping the mats out so it really hurts to see my dog looking this hideous. This was the third visit, and two out of three have had quality issues. Very inconsistent. The value of this cut is worth only a fraction of the $140 cost. It's not worth rolling the dice on this place and I will not be returning. read more

I've taken my dog here a couple times now, and been pretty pleased. I have a ~25 lb fluffy shelter mutt (sheltie/chow/spaniel?) and it costs about $60 to have her bathed and trimmed down. The owner is great, and was able to fit me in when I called the day before or day of to set up a Friday appointment. I dropped my dog off early in the morning (8ish), and was able to come get her around 2:00. When I picked her up, her tail was wiggling and she knew where to go for treats, so I'm assuming she was spoiled while she was there! The groomer who did her was very knowledgeable and talked to me for a few minutes about what I wanted, to make sure we were on the same page. The only downside is that there were cigarettes on the counter/in pockets, and people looked a little disheveled, but meh...it's appearances. My dog came back pretty and happy (and smelling wonderful!), and that's all that mattered. read more

We have exclusively relied on this pet spa for about the past four years. My family adopted a cocker spaniel rescue, and initially, we took him to his vet for grooming. They told us Rudy was so bad he required anesthesia to be groomed. Which we did, once. My mom became worried about what that might do to his health, and went looking for a groomer. This spa grooms Rudy with no issues. He can be one tough pooch, but they are affectionate, patient and kind with him. Their waiting area just screams "we love dogs" and we feel at ease knowing Rudy is in good hands! If you have a froufrou dog or are trying to win best in show, this may not be your place. We love them! read more

I called Annandale Pet Spa pretty last minute, they were able to get my cat in within two days of calling. I felt at ease as soon as I got there and knew they'd take good care of my kitty.
