After spending time on their website, their FB page and reviewing YELP, I decided to "go for it" and place an order for a cake similar to one that I saw on their FB page. I completed the "contact us" form and waited. And waited. I ended up phoning after a few days and spoke with April, who...in the beginning, wasn't very helpful with flavor combinations (suggested I check the site) but was very pleasant and patient while I did so. Ultimately, the cake was done (on time) and April even texted me a pic. They also delivered directly to my daughter exactly during the timeframe that we discussed. The cake was beautiful, the exact color combo that I requested...and hand painted to boot! I ordered pink champagne for the first tier and coconut for the second. I obviously didn't taste it but my daughter said that it was amazing!!!! All's well that ends well!!! Next time I'm in Burlington, I'm definitely stopping by to say thanks personally! They played a major part in making my daughter's 21st birthday very special!!! Thanks Main Street Cake Shoppe!

They also had free face painting and cookies to be decorated for free! We will be back because I want to try their brownies.

I was able to try the spicy beef and regular beef empanada that both have a mixture of veggies such as picadillo con queso. I love the flavor of the flaky pastry filled with meaty goodness. The service was amazing the lady at the front might have been the owner and she was wonderful! The empanadas come in an order of three to choose from different types. They also sell desserts and typical sweets. The last thing I ordered not pictured was the sourdough. FRESH and warm sourdough loaf that was perfect, it had a toasty outer and moist on the inside i loved that it was a bit sweet as well.

When I asked to upgrade to the larger size and pay the difference, I was met with a flat-out refusal and told "nothing could be done." Mistakes happen with online ordering, but a business with good customer service usually tries to find a solution, especially when a customer is willing to pay more for the correct item. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with such rigid, unhelpful management. (Jackie) Zero flexibility, zero helpfulness. Safe to say I'll be taking my sweet tooth elsewhere next time!

I email to bakery on December 26th with the cake picture they requested. I called on January 15th to verify that there was going to be a cake since it was ordered the month prior. I was told yes a smash cake and cup cakes were made and just needed to be iced. I was told it would be ready Saturday at my 1pm pick up time. We showed up a few minutes after our scheduled pick up time and our smash cake and cupcakes were not iced/decorated. They apologized and said the manager was coming in at 3pm to fix the problem. We were told the smash cake and cup cakes would be ready by 3:30pm. Our party was at 2pm, but we gave them the extra time. We show up at 3:30pm and the cake and cupcakes were still not iced/decorated. The owner who was suposed to come in to fix the problem still was not there at 3:30pm. We canceled our order and had to make a quick run to Walmart for a smash cake and cupcakes. This was my daughter's 1st birthday party. I had planned it out maticolusly with the right color scheme for streamers, balloon boquets, banners, a picture clip banner with pictures of the 1st year of her life, etc. I can't believe a Professional bakery could mess up this badly! Then promised to fix it and still not even show up to fix it! Please don't go here for a birthday cake unless you want to be greatly disappointed and left cakeless at the last minute! 1st birthday ruined!

The pancakes were fluffy and the sausage was nicely cooked. Service was great and one of the servers made sure to keep my water glass filled. The Mark at Elon is very pretty inside. They have a private parking lot outside reserved for Inn guests and we were able to park there because we were at the restaurant. I would recommend this place if you have guests in town and want something slightly nicer than your typical breakfast diner. They do serve lunch and dinner here too, but I can't speak on that food just yet. I'll have to return to try it out!
