A relative of mine saw this doctor two times: In April 2018, for a "Welcome to Medicare" free exam and then over a year later in May 2019 for a preventive exam. Medicare denied both claims submitted because as they told my aunt when she called them, "they were coded incorrectly by the doctor's office and needed to be coded using G0402 for the Welcome to Medicare Visit and G0438 or G0439 for the other yearly exam, depending on which code is applicable." When Medicare denied both claims, my aunt and uncle contacted the office and were told to call a 3rd party biller responsible for the office's insurance claims. They called this 3rd party biller every time they received a monthly statement to explain what Medicare told them about the coding and how it should be corrected so payment could be made by insurance. The 3rd party biller took the information and referred this "up the chain of command" so that coding could be corrected by the office. Unfortunately, after several months, the last time my relatives called the 3rd party billing company they were told that the practice had been contacted but had stated that "the coding was to stay as submitted." So, of course, since the practice would not correct it, Medicare will not pay it. What makes this so frustrating is they do not understand, nor do I, why the doctor's office refuses to correct this error. Now my relatives have been forced to set up payment arrangements (or go to collections) on the amount due for the May 2019 visit, which they can ill afford. And when they asked about the April 2018 visit, they were told that the Welcome to Medicare free exam was "still pending" with insurance and had also been denied (again, due to coding). My gosh this is a free exam!!! Quite honestly, this is somewhat confusing to me. If Medicare clearly stated to my relatives that the coding submitted was incorrect and provided the correct coding information, then why would the practice refuse to correct it. I felt it was necessary to bring this to future patients' attention because this might make a difference when choosing a physician.

I know in that business, you can't control all the visits as some may seem simple but end up complicated. Dr Wanee is very nice, listens carefully and takes the time at each appointment to make sure he's addressed all your questions. My baby doesn't much enjoy the needles but what baby does? They have no interest in helping you actually get the care you need. After taking 2 months to get an OBGYN referral I came to my appointment only to learn that they do not accept my insurance. Please be aware this referral came from my primary phycisian who has all my insurance information, the person who set my appointment explained that I was 100% covered for what I needed, and they even prescribed medication for me to take prior to coming in. It wasn't until I was in the OB office that they started asking more questions and quickly told me that they do not accept the insurance and I would have to leave. I spoke with several people in each office that did not seem phased or concerned by this. It seems to be a common mistake and I was told to do better research in my coverage. As a patient I put a lot of trust into my doctor and medical staff to provide guidance withy healthcare. It is clear to me today, after being treated so poorly, that they are not going to be the providers I choose to see any further. After spending an hour trying to find out who was responsible for this all I have is a lot of excuses, passing on of blame, a list of other referred doctors that may or may not accept my insurance, and a lot of wasted time.

My wife, my adult son, and I remain steadfast making this our preferred provider now and as far as I can see in the future. Last December our Primary provider Dr. Daniel Crabb retired and they hired a FPN, Dana Moore, who has been seeing us for a variety of reasons. She is such a good listener and really cares about what you are saying about your ailments, even hearing everyone else every day of the week. She does not make the appointments short because of any reason, and she acts upon what you need right now. No hesitation, and if you need a specialist, she sends a referral immediately. Their other Doctors are great also, I have been to all of them for one reason or another, except the new Doctor that came on right after Dana was settled there. I give them a lot of credit. I also want to tell you if you need blood taken, their blood drawer, Julie is remarkable, and is PAINLESS, She can find veins in a heartbeat and does not fail, unlike so many people at Community Hospital North are so good at failing to find a vein. Not knocking them, but there was a time that We have asked for someone use taking blood come from the ER or one of the EMT groups to get it done. At Family Physicians, or St. Vincents Physicians group. if you wait a little while someone is getting the care that they need, just like you will. I never have ever noticed a wait that was worth talking about. They have my complete faith in treating my wife, my family, and myself. The office itself is well run and she shares it with other very good Doctors and Nurse Practitioners (I know, because I have seen them as well when she was not available for an appointment); but usually her schedule is accommodating (so, I prefer to see her). Dr. Melloh's staff is great and returns questions within a fair amount of time, and prescription refill requests within 24 hours if it's not scheduled; and the Doctor on call has always dealt with my issues promptly and professionally. Now, that is all the great stuff the Doc has going for her office-wise, as for the good MD herself, she listens intently; she is profoundly willing to work with you (not work ON you, like you're a car needing a tune-up); and, and she cares. You can tell by the way she tries to fix patients like me with ailments that are chronic. She hasn't given up on me and I'm kind of a pain in the yoo-hoo. She's a good doc and I hope she stays my PCP til she stops being one. 5 Stars all the way.
