I am not mad not mad at that decision. The fish were what seemed like two whole filets with a beer batter that would knock your Sox off. Tender fish with a crispy batter. The batter on the onion rings was thick and crispy. SO GOOD!! The service was good super nice. You walk up to the counter and order. And I'm really not a fan of this for the fact, I tip small here. Thats just me. I want to give bigger but you didn't do anything yet. Give me some good customer service and I will give you a ble$$ing. Ambiance was ok. We ordered the 2 piece fish and chips (16.99) Vege Combo (7.99) Soda (1.99) Wine (7.00) The total for our meal was $62.50 Which we thought was pretty high for fish and chips meals. The food was delicious but the service is very slow (probably because they make each meal as the order comes in). The dining space is very small but for a little hole in the wall restaurant it worked. I ordered a water and never received it. We also ordered coleslaw and didn't receive that either. I had to wait in line to ask for it. The staff were all very friendly. Maybe they just need to hire more help. Came here on a rainy day, suggested it to my Hubby since we have been wanting to go try it ! Well it didnt disappoint we shared a two piece fish basket and traded out fries for onion rings , now let me tell you usually I prefer fries over onion rings .....But the onion rings here omg light fluffy batter cooked to perfection !!!! So so delicious .The fish also light beer batter super super crispy and the fish Well the fish was so juicy and tender and so incredibly scrumptious. My husband got a Guinness beer wich i tried and it was crisp and fit perfect with the fish and onion rings. First of all, I am not a huge lover of fish and chips. I've always thought that most places don't change their oil much and the flavor of the fry suffers. My daughter has told me about this place and insisted that everything tastes fresh. My wife and I headed over and am glad we did. The fish and fry had a very fresh taste. I have been waiting to try this place. Today the food truck was in Modesto so I stopped got 3 meals. We were very disappointed by the taste especially , because I was so excited to try it. Everything lacked flavor the fish did have a decent crisp on it but there was absolutely no flavor to the batter the fries didn't have any flavor. We made the drive to give it a try, after seeing it on tik tok. It is very small inside, and was packed! The owner lady was so nice and helpful. There is a bit of a wait but it's coming out FRESH and scolding hot (exactly how I like it)! The coating is chefs kiss perfect!! Went to Anne's food truck in Waterford on 4/8/26. My wife was excited. First I'll list the positives the food was very good. The young man was engaged and trying to overcome adversity. I was the third person in line. The two folks ahead of me were told they were having computer issues and couldn't accept cash. The lady inside the truck was on the phone. She was likely trying to help solve the problem. The issue was waiting 20 minutes to place the order, waited 20 minutes before order was ready. When my beeper went off the lady still on cell phone pushed it through the window and did not utter one word. The young man busy cooking feverishly. So he gets a 10, the food a 9, the blonde lady inside the truck a zero for her customer service. She was almost preoccupied on something else and gets a zero ratting. Things happen in business but her lack of basic customer service was unforgivable. We have once been to their brick and mortar in Houston and service was outstanding. What a rare find in small town California. Never did I think that I'd find a good fish and chip place in Hughson. Surprisingly Hughson also has great Chinese food but that's a different story. This place is counter service. Walk up and order. The fish is huge! The shrimp is very plump too. They were out of a few things so I just tried these two items. First time here and definitely won't be our last! Family member told us about this place so we decided to take a little drive from Modesto to check it out. It was a Saturday afternoon so it wasn't busy at all, ample parking available. The place is good sized, tables available for you to sit and eat. The ladies working were very attentive and nice! We got the special of the day which came with 2 orders of fish and chips, 2 slaws and 2 sodas for $38. Also added an order of shrimp and chips and onion rings, plus obvi some beers, lol. Girl, if I can give you a small amount of advice, find a way to give people that are seafood/shellfish sensitive a way to have a space of allergy sensitivity. This was our second visit in the last 7 days. The first visit was awesome! We ordered a fish meal with shrimp and a veggie side order. Everything was amazing! The shrimp are huge and tasty! We received our order fast and hot. It's been a long time since we've had a decent fish and chips meal. The fish is thick and delicious. The batter is not a typical beer batter type, but that didn't bother me. We went back a second time but only ordered their special, which was fish and chips with drinks and a side. Everything was delicious as before. We weren't a big fan of the coleslaw, but I think that will depend on your personal taste. I like a little cabbage with my dressing, so you know how I roll. The service was fast and the people working there were friendly as before. We look forward to our next visit. The inside of the restaurant is clean, but small.
