One of the best lunch meals in Charlotte. First time here and will most definitely be back. Clean, light, tasty, multiple small plates. Definitely give them a shot.

    Calamari, Gyozas, Steak Dinner

I dined here a few weeks ago with some friends and to be honest, I can't get enough of the bulgogi tacos! But just to backtrack a bit...this is a Korean restaurant and my second time here. It's in a plaza on Woodlawn, which you'll know if you've been in Charlotte for a minute, is a busy area. This time I went during lunch hours on a Saturday and parking was pretty thick. However I was able to secure a parking spot and went in to join my girls. As a FYI, this is a very small restaurant, for large parties. Since my friends were already seated (I'm late lol), I sat down right away! The staff was awesome! Our waitress made it clear that she recently moved to the U.S. from South Korea a couple of months ago and she was still working on her English. Even though at times there was a slight language barrier, it didn't deter the experience. We started off the meal with bottled still water, bulgogi tacos, gyozas, and calamari. The calamari was very chewy and was sent back. The chef personally came out to speak to us and offered to remake the calamari which was a kind gesture. He was also very apologetic. However, the main star are the bulgogi tacos, you receive three with an appetizer order, and they are FIRE! if you don't order anything else, order these! Afterwards, we ordered the steak dinner. The meals do not come with sides, but you can add rice for an additional dollar. During a previous visit, if you're craving something warm, the Jjambnong Tang (seafood soup) was really good and easily shareable. We were provided warm farewells as we exited. I will be back!

Yumm! I can't wait to go back and try other menu items. I went on a quick date here with my honey before going to have dinner so I only wanted a snack. We ordered the mandu and then ordered a 2nd after destroying the 1st order. They came out hot, fresh and delicious! We came for an app but then saw the sweet soy garlic chicken and had to have it. It is chicken breast for all the thigh haters out there and was super tasty!!! To drink I had the MAXIM 16° and it was a great choice. I wish they had a full bar though. I noticed there is no liquor behind the bar. I can't wait to go back and try more menu items!

This place has some great atmosphere for you to hang out with friends. I also like the decor. The staff here are amazing they have a great attitude and show that they care for their customers. We ordered the Seafood Tofu soup, seafood waffles and shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were spot on with great flavors. The seafood waffle is unique and different from your regular seafood pancakes, the taste is similar to traditional Korean seafood pancakes but it makes you to it might be sweet. It is fun. The seafood tofu soup was good, but I personally will like it to have more stronger flavors. Overall great experience, but I will like to see if they have some mocktails for those who don't like alcohol. Also a little more options for food.

The Baek Ban lunch special is such a fun meal and a great deal. Comes with protein of your choice, soup of the day, rice, kimchi, fish cake, rice cake, sausage, tofu, and omelette. You can skip the rice and easily make this low carb/high protein. Enjoyed trying all of the different items, and the soup really hit the spot on this chilly November day.

My honest review for this place would be "tasteless". We ordered crispy tofu and tofu bokkeum as those seemed to be only vegan options on the menu. Both the things tasted very tasteless to me. They should mark the items that they can make vegan so it's easy to pick what to order. Service and ambience were great. Food quantity is good as well just need some taste added.

    Yuzu like

Solid location and seems like it gives off the casual bar vibe I thought it would be. We got a yuzu like, stir fry squid, and crispy pork belly. It was easy to get the waiter's attention and did not feel rushed in any way. It was a cold day though so every time the door opened, we would feel a cold breeze. Yuzu Like: This is an ok soju mixed drink. I've not often had soju mixed with other things so wanted to give it a try. It tastes like a mix of the honey yuzu jam you may see at a korean grocery store with soju. While pleasant enough, it was a little too sweet and did not have much yuzu flavor. Also $13 felt wildly overpriced for what you get. Crispy Pork Belly: solid crispy slices that were not too dry. The kale and sesame oil underneath the pork belly went very well with the pork belly. It tasted great with a bowl of rice. They charge $1 per bowl of rice which is fine but felt weird the dish didn't already come with one since it really felt it necessitated it (unless you were trying to do keto or something). The rice tasted nice though! Stir fry squid: excellent flavor. Squid had a nice chew and didn't feel too oily or saucy. Again, tasted good, but you have to eat with some rice. Not sure who these people are that are just eating these straight but maybe I'm missing the trend. Overall, not bad! The alcoholic drinks aren't strong enough and over priced but the food was fairly on point with the exception of being charged $1 for rice. I'd recommend giving the food a try if you want some decent tasting korean bar food.

It's been an amazing two years of absolutely the best Korean food in Charlotte! We love Anju. Best wishes from Mr. Woo and Utip.

This is a lovely place! It's a small establishment so if you go during peak dinner time, expect a wait. We came in as a table of 2 around 6pm, and there was a 30 minute wait. The restaurant is located around a few shops and other businesses so we walked for a bit before getting called back. The servers were attentive. We ordered the jeyuk Bokkeum and tofu Bokkeum, I recommend ordering a side of rice since the meal doesn't come with a starch. Our meals were tasty and I highly recommend. I saw a few other tables order soup and they all seemed fairly large so I would recommend sharing those dishes. Overall a lovely place with great food! We will be back to try more.

I was grabbing a few bottles of wine next door and noticed this spot. I'm new to the area and haven't seen many Korean restaurants so i had to stop in and try. I was parked closer to Total Wine but there seemed to be plenty of parking available, even though it was peak dinner hours. Upon walking in I noticed the place had a good atmosphere with Korean music playing and a medium level buzz of conversations coming from the mostly full tables. I sat at the bar and ordered the kimchijeon ($14), tteokbokki ($14), and a Sapporo ($8). The kimchijeon was pressed in a waffle press, so I was initially a little confused when it came out, but after trying it, I thought the different texture created by the waffle iron gave the kimchi "pancake" a fun twist while still hitting on the classic flavor notes that you'd expect. The tteokbokki was also delicious and tasted very authentic to me, which came as a pleasant surprise. David, the bartender, was very attentive and cool to talk to. He explained the story of how Anju came to be and recommended some other spots in Charlotte to try since I am new to the city. Anju was an unexpected joy, and I couldn't be happier that I decided to try this place on a whim. I already can't wait to go again!

My cousin had dinner here many times and recommended this place to me and it was his birthday today so we went here as it is late at night and we wanted to extend our fun. Night. Kim was our waiter and he was so kind and understanding of everything we needed and wanted for our night with friends. Open is the owner and he really cares about every aspect that goes along in his restaurant. We had the mixed drinks and almost everything on the menu. We were treated so kindly and had an amazing time listening to amazing kpop bops! The galbi was so flavorful and delicious. We had yummy dumplings and rose tteboki substitute. Everything was what we wanted I'm so happy that we decided to come here it was the perfect way to end the night.

I have not had a lot of experience with Korean BBQ, but Anju set my expectations high for my next dining experience. It may seem unassuming as it sits in a shopping center. It is rather small, but worth a visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining the various dishes. I had the Kalbi Steak and a side of white rice. The steak was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. There were many other dishes to choose from. I would recommend a visit for a nice meal

We both thought the foods (and the service) was stellar last time. This time, however, a bit of a mixed review. In case I haven't mentioned, but they don't take reservations, so we came super-early again to snag one of their very few tables. Luckily, we were seated right away. The vibe wasn't really "on" this time. Barely audible K-Pop music (although the videos were on), lighting was too bright, etc.etc. Again, I also wished this place was bigger...with comfier seats. This time, we ordered the following to share: Anju Pajeon, Anju Toastada, Tteokkbokki, Bulgogi, and their dessert, Anju Ssamanco. Well, we both really liked the Toastada appetizer and the Tteokkbokki. Tteokkbokki was quite spicy, and came with loads of Fish Cakes (which I love!). In a way, I think I would have liked it even more if it was a tad less spicy? It was borderline too spicy. I was really impressed with the presentation of their dessert, Anju Ssamanco...this Frozen waffle with mochi ice cream and hazelnut stick. Very shareable dessert for 2, but light on portions. The things I wasn't too into this time was their Pajeon. Maybe the novelty of their Seafood Waffle (over the Seafood Pancake) wore off, but somehow, it tasted WAY too bland. The Waffle, the Seafood inside, and the sauce...ALL bland! How could anything taste so bland in a Korean restaurant?!? Also, I recall absolutely loving their Bulgogi last time...but this time, something was off. While the meat was quite tender, it wasn't marinated enough or cooked long enough, or something...just not as flavorful (at least to me). BTW, my hubby got beer again, and this time, I tried their Yuzu cocktail. Sadly, this cocktail was somewhat disappointing. Guess I expected something more? Except for the exquisite dessert, Ssamanco, I thought the presentation for the other dishes could have been better. For instance, I thought the Shrimp Toastadas looked a bit cheap with the purple cabbage. To me at least, everything looked and tasted at least 20% worse than on my 1st visit. Still very good, but not quite as stellar as how I remembered it. Same with the service. Very courteous still...but a tad too slow on the take. We had to ask for every little thing...like Spoons, Rice, Kimchi, table cleaning, etc.etc. I just don't know...the energy, the vibe, the foods, the presentation, the service was dimmer...Everything seemed just a bit less this time. Struggled with 3 and 4 stars...but decided to drop just 1 star from my first review. Hoping it was just a bad night?

Honestly, smart marketing move. If you're in a high foot-traffic area like Uptown Charlotte, putting your menu outside absolutely works because it pulled me right in. Just keep it updated and current, and people like me will absolutely stop and read it. Now onto the japchae, which is one of my all-time comfort foods. If you've never had it before, these are glossy Korean sweet potato glass noodles stir-fried with vegetables and sometimes protein. I ordered mine without protein because I just wanted the noodles to shine on their own. And shine they did. Perfectly cooked, lightly chewy, savory, comforting, and exactly what I was craving. I can never get enough japchae. Ever. I'm so glad MOA keeps it as a staple menu item because I would genuinely be upset if it disappeared. If you're newer to Korean food, japchae is honestly one of the best gateway dishes to start with. It's approachable, flavorful, comforting, and kind of the Korean cousin to pad thai in terms of universal appeal. The restaurant itself has a sleek Uptown vibe, and the location is super walkable if you live or work nearby. Parking Uptown can absolutely be annoying, so if you already happen to be in the area for work, a show, or meetings, it's definitely worth the stop. Charlotte, there's a big delicious world out there, and honestly, one of the nicest surprises about relocating here from Northern California has been discovering how good and diverse the food scene really is. So get out there and eat your way through it.

It was a lot of fun but there are definitely some things that would have made this experience a little smoother for us. Overall, the price is very reasonable when split between the group. One very easy and good improvement would be to move the TV screen to the back of the room. It's positioned in the same area as the "stage" so everyone had to turn their backs to read the lyrics which just felt silly. For a room fit for 25, more mics are needed! I think it's 2 per room regardless of the size. The most frustrating part of our experience is that our YouTube queue was somehow shared with another room's. We would add songs, they would delete them. Random songs would show up in our queue, we would delete them. We didn't realize it until about 20 minutes in. When we told an employee about this, they weren't aware and didn't know what to do about it, but that's definitely something that needs to be sorted out for a better experience. Space-wise it's definitely pretty cramped although you could say that it made things more intimate. Food was good though! I've also had a lot of karaoke experiences where tambourines are included for added fun. Definitely wasn't expecting this, but that could be a fun addition! Overall I've had better karaoke room experiences but I would still go back again and recommend to anyone who's never done this before!

Came here with a group of ~20 friends to do a karaoke night. We had a lot of fun as a group, but…read morethe actual karaoke experience was not great. My feedback: 1. Add more mics in each room - there were only 2 mics in our room. When I did this style of karaoke before there were 5 or 6 mics so it was easy for the whole group to participate. Our room only had 2 mics. Yes we could share and everyone was able to sing along even if they didn't have a mic, but being able to sing into the mic and pretend you're a pop star while you're up on stage is part of the fun. 2. Rearrange the TV screens/furniture - the "stage" area is on the same wall as the TV, so whoever was singing had to turn their back on the audience to look at the words. 3. Fix the song queuing experience and train staff on how to use/troubleshoot - our group's songs kept disappearing from the queue, and we figured out about halfway through our session that there was a technical issue resulting in two different rooms adding songs to the same queue. When we asked the staff for help they had no idea how to fix the issue. These things are all pretty important to the karaoke experience, so we won't be coming back to this location. However, the rooms at the Noda location are set up a lot better, so we'll probably try there if we go again.

We started with the fried tteok fries, which were surprisingly light and delicious. I've only ever had tteok in stews before, so I was worried they might be hard or chewy, but they were the complete opposite--crispy, light, and really enjoyable. We also ordered the dolsot bibimbap with beef, the Japchea with beef , and a side of the daily soup, which was beef with radish. Everything was very savory without being heavy, and overall just really comforting food. On top of that, the servers were very kind and polite. We loved our experience and would definitely come back.

I called this restaurant to confirm they don't use fruit juice in their bulgogi marinade, as I'm allergic. They assured me twice that they don't. I placed a $40 order with doordash for two dishes (already ridiculous), and they called me back 10 minutes later saying they DO USE PEAR JUICE. I ask them if they use pear juice in their chicken or pork and they said yes. At no point do they offer me a refund despite it clearly being a massive shortcoming on their end, one that could've made me gravely ill. Instead I have to sub for tofu, resulting with me ending up with a $40 meal I would've never ordered in the first place! To replace the gimbap, they GRIPE ME ABOUT A $10 PRICE DIFFERENCE between the gimbap and the kimchi pancakes as if it's not their fault! If they are this flippant and careless with making people sick, I genuinely cannot imagine how they run the rest of their restaurant. I cannot advise people to stay away from here enough. This interaction went beyond breaching normal restaurant hospitality and veered into lacking human decency territory. I can't imagine lying to someone about food allergies and not immediately offering a refund. Absolutely obscene. Could've gotten gravely ill and instead of saying sorry the lady on the phone is griping me about a $10 difference as if kimchi pancakes even costs $6 to make in the first place.

It's in a midsized shopping center, and parking was pretty easy with lots of spaces in the shopping center parking lot. We came slightly before the typical dinner (again, *starving*) and were seated immediately. We ordered our dishes thru server, and they were delivered super fast. I thought I was going to pass out from being hangry, but I was soon dancing and enjoying the food! I'm usually a pork belly girlie, but do not sleep on their beef dishes. We wish we got more of beef at Iron Dish than we did because they were that good! The interior was pretty "rustic" with exposed concrete here and there. The table benches were connected to the tables next/behind you, and if you have a big person sitting next table, your seat will be shaken the whole time. Not my favorite activity to do while I'm eating, but the food was amazing. So it's a solid 5 star for me! I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area :)

I got the Jjolmyeon this is my specialty and my favorite dish I get it all year round at SuperG I will say it's a bit spicier which I LOVE and more liquidy which I'm not use to. Overall not bad definitely a great backup super good. 4/5 on that. Kimchi was really good , was perfectly fermented. then I finished with the Tteokbokki unfortunately I had no more room to finish but I think it's the best tteokbokki I've ever had and usually this is my least favorite dish, I liked it so much I took it Togo! might add cheese on top later for dinner. There are ample dining tables inside, but the parking lot is rather tight as it is shared with Seoul Food Meat Company. However, the restaurant does validate parking if you pay for parking so just let them know. The ambiance was not too loud, but it definitely gets busier at lunch or dinner times. I would say that the service was alright. It was nothing special. I found the servers who attended my table to be upbeat and friendly, but I kind of wanted them to come around a bit more and check in on us when we were running low on water or sides. My family mostly ordered the Premium Original Pork Belly and Fatty Beef Brisket along with some vegetables. The pork belly comes out in two strips, which makes it quick to go through. I personally enjoyed the pork belly. It tasted great with the sauces! I did not like the Fatty Beef Brisket that much because it was too fatty (I know the name includes "fatty" but it seemed like the fat to meat ratio on each brisket piece was 2:1 at times). My parents thought that the Premium Steak was tender, but it was a bit too salty for them. Since they are older, they are more careful about sodium intake but I understand that a lot of people prefer more salty foods. But I will say that I found the kimchi and corn cheese a bit salty so maybe it is more than just a taste palate issue. My mom wanted to eat hot pot, but my dad and I were too full to eat more and we were worried about the additional charge if she did not finish some of the food. Also, you cook the food yourself here! This might not seem interesting but at a lot of KBBQ places in Atlanta, the servers always cook for you (which can either be a pro or con depending you). There are not a lot of AYCE KBBQ spots in North Carolina compared to Georgia... where I have been the past few years... so I think my actual rating of this place would be 3.5/5 stars. If you can make the drive to Atlanta, I would go there because there are better options.

The food quality here was not like how it was years ago. The biggest issue was the food quality and value. The galbi was $30 per plate and had barely any meat, mostly bones and mixed in with a lot of cabbage. The pieces of meat were extremely small, about the size of a penny, which made it feel completely overpriced. The photo on the menu showed much meatier portions, so what we received felt misleading. We have had galbi at other places with much better portions for less. The japchae was also difficult to eat. The noodles were excessively long, around 2 feet, making it hard to grab and portion onto plates. Typically, japchae noodles are cut to a manageable length. The banchan portions were very small, only enough for about two people. When we asked for more, we were told it would be an additional charge, which was disappointing. Service also impacted our experience. The waitress hovered over our table and repeatedly asked to take plates away while we were STILL eating, which made the meal feel rushed and uncomfortable. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 young kids, ages 4 and 2, and the kids barely ate anything, yet we were still automatically charged a 20% gratuity. That did not feel appropriate given the situation. I am all for supporting small businesses, but when you are charging premium prices for very small portions and the quality does not match, that is where you lose my business. Overall, the portions, pricing, and service did not match expectations. Our $183 bill would've been better off at an AYCE Korean bbq.
