I have been craving Korean BBQ for a while now. I decided to reserve a spot at this location for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. Korean BBQ is pricey anywhere you go, but this particular location has all types of meats. From seafood to marinated, and non-marinated meats, thick or thinly sliced, as well as Bulgogi beef, pork and chicken were part of the experience. The time limit is 2 hours and it starts as soon as the drink orders have been taken. Be careful to NOT eat with your eyes, because you will get charged extra for unfinished food items. Parties of 6 or more already include a gratuity fee. The BBQ plate used to cook meats does tend to get VERY dirty but the server will change it out, and add water as well. High chairs are also available for toddlers to join in on the experience. Meats can be chosen every round but only up to 4 meats. The meats come in a heaping pile with endless choices of sides. The best side in my opinion were the RICE CAKES. We even threw those on the hot plate to get them nice and roasted. They have an extensive choice of Korean non-alcoholic drinks, alcoholic drinks as well as a variety of Korean soft drinks. I was able to try out a common Korean Peach yogurt cocktail which was delicious. The downside was that there was only one bartender working through the dinner rush and complex cocktails. I ordered another round of the Peachy yogurt cocktail and had to leave without the drink being made. Since this location is within a shopping center, the parking situation is Great. Plenty of parking near the actual location. Wait times can be longer for parties without a reservation.

We came here on a Sunday with a group of 10+. There was no wait to get seated (granted we did call ahead) which was amazing. They do not have loud music playing in the background, so conversations can be had quite easily. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and quick to help. As with most AYCE BBQ spots now, it is recommended to order no more than 2 meats at a time to reduce leftovers (which - within reason- you DO have to pay extra for) My kids & I LOVED their pork bulgogi. We probably ordered more than 4 rounds of just that. The meats were all fairly fresh and well marinated. Their cheese corn (set on the grill to melt) was so sooo good. I can't believe I didn't take a photo of it. I look forward to going back.

If you haven't experienced this style of Korean Beef atmosphere- you need to! It is a little pricey at 38/head so go hungry and be prepared to not have any leftovers as you can't take home leftovers and if too much is left they will charge an up charge. In other words order a few things and then you can order more as needed. All the food was delicious! We don't have a picture of the fried dumplings but they were so good we ordered them 3x lol!! The Corn Cheese we weren't sure what to expect but was so good we had another round! The garlic in sesame oil really cooks up nicely and tastes so good! Our faves in the main items were the marinated pork butt / marinated Beef / marinated chicken - not faves of shrimp or squid, just ok. Pork Belly is good if you like that type of stuff - make sure you save it for last so it can really get crispy and it takes a bit for that to occur. If you love trying out non traditional great eats - give this place a try!

We decided to do another low-key, yet celebratory New Year's Eve dining closer to home...so this place came to mind again. Think we did NYE dining here last year too? The thing I hate about dining here is that they don't take reservations (not even a wait list any longer) for smaller parties...so you can only hope for the best when going here. :\ We drove out early, around 5:15 pm, so managed to get a table (though not the best!) without waiting...but the place was nearly packed already! This non-reservation/non-waiting list situation is what makes me dock a star from the get-go. I noticed that they didn't feature BTS, Blackpink, or other top K-Pop overhead this time...but rather, more of a rhythm 'n blues and/or loungy Korean music. Not sure if I liked it better, but the volume was good...and definitely added to the ambiance. They even added just a bit more decor (like these funky green beer trees?) to their otherwise very minimalistic chic, industrial vibe. Also, as expected, the A-Y-C-E KBBQ is now priced a bit higher...at $38 per person. Still, I felt that with the volume of meats and sides that we order, we always feel that we get our money's worth. Also, seems they added more flavors of the Mochi Ice Cream...which was perfect for topping off the hot 'n spicy meal. Again, we didn't like our seating area...with the smaller booth, and by the back door. However, given the number of bigger parties coming in for NYE, I didn't feel that we could have done much better...so Oh Well? Still, our waitress was pretty attentive throughout...and our foods were delivered rather quickly, surprisingly. Not the best KBBQ I've had, but pretty solid...especially for Charlotte. I thought their menu changed a bit though...with too much "Pork Belly" meats, which aren't my favorites. Still, they had the Beef Bulgogi, Prime Rib (though boneless verson) and the Squid...which I tend to go for. Guess the big disappointment is the lack of Galbi, possibly my favorite of the meats. Of all the sides that we tried, we thought their Fried Dumplings were stand-outs. So light and crispy! I also really like the laid-back vibe of this place over the more hustle-bustle Let's Meet chain...and of course, its convenient location, with easy parking. I actually prefer their sister chain, Iron Dish in North Charlotte...but a bit too far to drive out. Overall, this seems to be the local KBBQ we seem to lean towards...mostly due to convenience (location/parking). So YES, we're a fan...and we'll likely be back! In any case, it was a very good, hearty, A-Y-C-E Feast. Happy New Years!!

Service was great, hostess was frequently visiting the table. Food came out quickly and tasted great. A lot of options so we will definitely be back to try other meats.

We went for Friday dinner and no wait. They only take reservations for party of 7 or more. Each table get a laminated menu with a marker to mark meat and sides you want. The waitress bring your order with a clean menu for you to mark your next order. Overall the food was okay, some of the meat didn't have a lot of flavors.

I'm in love with this place beside MOA.. I have never been good at cooking my own food sooo deal of this game is to find someone whose get annoy of how clueless I am. And just savagely take over. Works both time.. Their food seem freshly made. Like the kimchi, lettuces are nicely wash.. All the pickle products are good and nicely marinated. I love love their fried rice cake. Of course their fried goyzas. I ate soo much beef tongues, Kalbi and Bolgi each time that it was sitting at the throat. Their soju with yugurt was sooo good. And of course you have to try the lycees soju.. customer services are great.. both times they were there and on point.. This is my go too Korean bbq!

I think I won't be coming back just because there are better alternatives to kbbq in Charlotte! It was $40 per person AYCE and I feel like the quality of the cuts of meat just wasn't worth it. The grill itself isn't great. It burns a lot quicker than other grills and the burnt remains doesn't get cleaned off completely even when they give you a "new one". I think I just didn't get a great vibe when I went in general. Overall, I think everything is just alright. Nothing amazing or new. I think it would help if they lowered their cost pp it may be better. It's not a bad establishment at all but I personally would go somewhere else that's worth it at the price point!

Although, there was a long wait. I can confidently say it was well worth it. But we used that time to familiarize ourselves with the menu. And the decor was really cool. When we finally got sat, we were starving! And we were quick to order our food. For times like this, I recommend the the thin beef brisket. It's cooks pretty fast! Make yourself a lettuce or radish wrap with the beef, top it with some kimchi, and wow! For extra spice, some gochujang. Definitely tames the hunger down! Beef bulgogi is a must for us. So when we saw they had chicken bulgogi, we had to try it. I have to say: WOW! It was delectable! For sides, I always go with corn cheese, kimchi/cucumber kimchi, lettuce wraps, and radish wrap. We had a such a great time here, I wished it was closer to us! But nonetheless, amazing and you must try it! 10/10 So delicious

We had a fun experience at 704 Korean bbq. It was my first Time having Korean bbq in North Carolina, and it came pretty close to what I've had on the west coast. I recommend the non-marinated meats over the marinated. They're more tender off the pot and you taste more of the natural flavors of the meat. The brisket and the bulgogi the top two. So whatever you order, be sure to get those. With a metal back, the seats were a bit uncomfortable, especially if you're going to be stuffing yourself with Korean bbq. The atmosphere was interesting. Definitely being environmentally friendly, so no complaints about that. I'd say 704 Korean bbq is worth a try. Be sure to come with enough people, so you can try everyone on the menu and still finish the food at no extra charge.

AYCE Korean BarBQ was on the menu. We had a great time here, and enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. I liked the fact that you could order your items on a card and the waiter would pick it up and bring the items requested. We had 2 hours to get the meat coming, cooking and eating. Great place! Service was good, and they kept the meat coming, no idle time at this table.

If you enjoy the experience of cooking your food I'd recommend this place. It's not everyone's cup of tea but it is a fun experience. If you go in a group expect the table to be filled with plates. The service here is hands off since you're making the meal yourself but they are quick on clean up which I enjoy.

I can be really picky when it comes to KBBQ, but I really enjoyed this one. Some places limit the amount of item you can order or how many times you can order at one time, and this one seemed perfect. All items on the list we're all you can eat! The flavor was so tasty and the portions of each item were fulfilling! Service was very helpful and attentive.

Sweet Lew's BBQ -- Texas girl meets Carolina barbecue…read more I grew up in Texas, so barbecue to me means dry rub, wood, smoke and a beautiful smoke ring. Sauce is optional. Give me good meat and a couple of simple sides and I'm happy. I'd had Sweet Lew's bookmarked on Yelp for a while, and I finally had a serious hankering for barbecue. I was dreaming about burnt ends, but those weren't on the menu, so I decided to branch out. First, I love the place itself. Sweet Lew's has its own gravel parking lot, outdoor seating and a bar, and the whole place has this funky, neighborhood barbecue-joint charm. It's small inside and was a little warm when I visited, so I decided to order mine to go. The menu was almost overwhelming for this Texas girl. Brunswick stew? Eastern slaw? BBQ slaw? Hash and rice? I know brisket, beans and potato salad! I wanted to ask questions, but one woman was working the line and people were waiting behind me. I wasn't going to hold everybody up while I got my Carolina barbecue education. So I kept it simple: the $17 build-your-own platter with chopped pork, beans and potato salad. It also came with hush puppies. And goodness, it was delicious. The pork was tender, flavorful and better than I expected. The beans and potato salad hit the spot, and I grabbed some barbecue sauce on my way out. The one I tried leaned heavily toward vinegar rather than the sweeter, slightly spicy sauces I tend to prefer. That's a different barbecue language than the one I grew up speaking, but I enjoyed trying it. Apparently there were other sauces because, as I was leaving, I spotted a gentleman who had seemingly adopted the entire sauce collection at his table. Thanks for sharing, buddy! Now I know for next time. And there WILL be a next time. I'm thinking brisket and ribs so I can get a better taste of what Sweet Lew's does with the smoker. I also need to educate myself on Brunswick stew and the different Carolina slaws before I return. Texas barbecue may have my heart, but Sweet Lew's absolutely earned my respect. Life is too short not to eat well. If Sweet Lew's has been sitting on your Yelp list too, get out there and give it a try. It's delicious!

This was one of the places we wanted to try thanks to Top Chef Carolinas. So we learned that pork…read morewas their thing here. We had high expectations; after all, they were on Top Chef, but definitely not unrealistic, we are from Texas. Here's the thing, I'm not a big meat person. I like tofu, but also turkey, but I'm gonna try all of it. So we got way too much food to actually finish, but we were going to sample some chicken (turkey was unavailable), brisket, and pork. The sides were mac and cheese, a tomato based coleslaw, and hush puppies. So let's start with who, or what, is safe (nod to Top Chef)- the hush puppies and the coleslaw. The hush puppies were crispy and soft and full of flavor. They were tiny little pops that I could eat so day. Same with the coleslaw. I do not care for coleslaw, but this magic was insane. It made every bite taste so much better. The mac and cheese was also delicious. It was al dente and creamy and rich with flavor. I think most bbq places do mac and cheese a disservice, but not here. So that's it! If you're vegetarian and not vegan and love sides. This is your place. What's on the chopping block? The meats. Maybe it was a bad day because most reviews are great, but that was not my experience. The chicken was beyond overdone. It was practically on the verge of being inedible. The brisket was just as bad. It was so inconsistent. Some was moist, but we were served mostly a brick. Literally a hard chunk that couldn't be penetrated. The pork was good. It was probably the only thing that didn't need to be drowned in sauce. That's my other issue. Why do all the places offer so many sauces?? It's not Taco Bell or McDonald's. What are you trying to hide? Unfortunately, the delicious sides don't make up for the fact that we spent a lot for meats and the majority ended up trashed.
