I would give Ani's easily 6 Stars were that an option! This little place on Meriden Ave in Southington is a real treasure...&, consequently, very popular with the locals. My choice during our Sunday noon visit was their Crepe with Berries & Cheesecake filling & Corned Beef Hash on the side. Speaking as a Corned Beef Hash fanatic, Ani's version is without peer in CT! Ani's Kitchen crew operate like a very well oiled machine. You won't regret the trip and wait...We'll be back!

Closer to 4 stars but not there yet. They just opened a week ago and clearly have some kinks to work out but definitely has some potential!!! I'll start with the needs improvement- they need more staff, our poor waitress was amazing but she had come in for an interview and they put her right to work but she was fantastic. Also the wait time for the food was very long. Kids were getting quite impatient but we did get our food before the table next to us who sat down first and had less people. Lastly , the food. I felt things were under seasoned. Eggs didn't have any sort of salt or pepper. Our crepe was crunchy (should be soft) and inside was frozen. They did take it off the bill so appreciated that. Pros- menu is great in terms of options and prices. The tres leches pancakes were phenomenal. The home fries my husband said were delicious but I thought could use seasoning. The French fries are very good as well and the bacon cooked well. Coffee was good better than most breakfast places. Overall will probably return once they have a few more weeks under their belt and maybe not at 10am on a Sunday when it seems they are their busiest.

Irish Benedict. Perfection!

I have subsequently been back to Ani's twice for breakfast and it's been a 5 star experience each time. The wait staff are so courteous and attentive and the food is so good. I have subsequently had the sizzle and skillet as well as the crab cake benedict and my family members had the strawberry cheese cake crepe and chorizo skillet. The skillets are so flavorful and easily equate to two filling meals. The cheesecake crepe was light and airy and had ample fresh fruit. Ani makes the best eggs Benedict I've ever had. The eggs are like clouds and the Hollandaise sauce is . Excited for an excuse to return for my next meal.

Shrimp and Grits Special, best grits I've ever had North of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Great selection of food offered for breakfast and lunch. Second time here and it was just as good as the first. We had The Lox, Avocado Toast, short stack of French Toast, and the Shrimp and Grits Special. The staff was on tip of refilling water and coffees, and the dining room is super cute. The Bathrooms are always immaculate. See photos for what to expect. Greta little spot that will be going into the rotation.

Chorizo dishes

First tried Ani's this weekend. The food was great and the service was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised. The space was a bit noisy for conversation. Would go there again.

california blt wrap & chicken caesar wrap

Tried the chicken caesar wrap and california blt wrap. Too much dressing on both imo but the flavor was good. Fries and tots were good. Really nice people and would try breakfast there next time.

Warning! Now under new ownership. They don't toast their bread or put cheese in their omelettes.

First time coming to this bar and will have to say this is a hidden gem. Michaela was at the bar…read moreand she did an amazing job. She kept conversation going, was quick with the drinks and made sure we got our food order right before the kitchen closed. I came in not knowing the wings are on sale, so I opted in for the garlic Parmesan and the Nashville hot dry rub. These wings are definitely on my top 5 places to go for wings! They were full of meat, flavor and were very crispy! We also got the strawberry limeade which came with sour patch strawberries. I will definitely come back as the vibes were chill and the service was great

My sons and I are in search for hidden wing gems throughout the state. Yes, we love J.Tim's,…read moreappreciate the local flair of O-Joe's (both locations), and even admire the smoked wings in an around Torrington. Someone gave me the tip to try these as he thought they would "compete" with the aforementioned. For the first 5 min of my visit, I thought it might be the case. Here are the reasons to ABSOLUTELY GO!!!!! Even if a 30-45 min drive. 1) SERVICE - simply fantastic. Huge thanks to Destiny and the kitchen for making my experience great. 2) ATMOSPHERE - THIS IS the place I want to come to watch the games, for the long haul in the fall or playoff time! Great lighting. Music gives way to the game. Locals. Golf and bowling games. You name it. Fantastic. 3) THEIR BLUE CHEESE - unique. Delicious. Clearly house made. Makes the wing experience better. Here are the reasons I would only go if convenient: 1) THE FOOD - My chili to start only said beef chili on the menu. On first bite, there was a stinging salty taste of BACON. I have no problem eating bacon, but should say it on the menu for those who do not. And, that flavor profile is not what chili evokes. 2) THE WINGS - when the blue cheese and veggies came out, I was almost hyperventilating with excitement. The wings then came. Huge let down. Without going into the subtleties of the sauces, I'm more focused on deciding if they were frozen-pre-breaded wings or fresh wings with a salty/shake and bake coating on them. They're huge. They're crispy (kitchen is good). They're just not a traditional wing (should also say coated on the menu). 3) THEIR OIL - one of my wings was a delicious lemon pepper dry rub. So much promise. So crispy. Then, the flavor transfer hit. They must have fried fish on the menu. Same/old fry oil So my wings without a sauce (dry rub) tasted faintly of fried cod. Gross. I will go back. I liked the staff and feel enough. It could be fun. But it's not the hidden wing Mecca I will continue to search for. Service, feel, blue cheese earn all the stars.

We had planned to go somewhere else but it was late on a Saturday night and that place was busy so…read morewe last minute pivoted to here. Upon arriving we'd realized we'd eaten at this restaurant before (when it was in a different location) and eaten in this building before (when it was a different business). Caesar salad appetizer was excellent. Kids Mac and cheese was maybe one of the best Mac and cheeses we'd ever had, kids or not. And it was great as a pizza topping. My wife and I split a wagyu burger and The Craft Pie. The burger we believe we got someone else's, it was missing the espresso aioli and prosciutto jam. It wasn't until we finished it that we realized it was way different than we expected. The pizza was excellent however. I could have done without the pears but so many other flavors that were excellent, though the real winner was the sour cherries. I'd come back again just for this pizza.

A friend of mine and I went to Craft Kitchen for lunch on this Thursday…read more There was plenty of parking to the right of the restaurant, and the side entrance was right there. As I walked through the front doors, I noticed kegs alongside on the floor. This was kind of a turn off, kind of reminds me of a dive bar. So my mentality kicked in that we were going into a dive bar serving food. I kinda get the sketchy feeling. Once we were seated, and menus placed, we were served iced water A few minutes later, the server came back and took our order. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and some string french fries. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken, which came with two sides. I chose the rattlesnake beans and the creamy macaroni and cheese. Also include included was cornbread I originally wanted the street corn, as a side, but it was not available. Our lunches came quick, and my friend only ate half the french fries and cheeseburger, as she wasn't really turned on by them. The smoked chicken was fairly dry, with a very interesting smoked flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. I eat about 1/3 of it. Left the rest on the plate. The creamy macaroni and cheese was out of bounds top-notch. I could've eaten this all day. The rattlesnake rice and beans were just OK. The rice was cooked pretty good, and was seasoned well. The beans had a weird taste. Now thinking of this side dish, I was hoping for raw onions to be on top, but they were nowhere to be found. It'll be nice if there was chopped raw onions to go with this. The cornbread was delicious. I ate about half of it. It was a generous slice. While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. From what I understand, the owner was near the exit when we left, not even a smile or a thank you for coming in...
