If you must go to comicbook store, go anywhere but there. Anyone that tells you different has probably eaten boxes full of Lead Paint chips cereal.

Most places usually charge $2.5 or $3 a book to borrow. If you're borrowing one book, it really doesn't matter, but if you're borrowing like 10-20 books at a time, it makes a difference. I don't know how they fit all those books in the small store! But they do! If you have some time to kill, not a bad idea to stop by and read there too.

Buying and Selling at Book Off What a cool store. So much to…read moresee. Unfortunately, it is lousy to sell at and expensive to buy at. First, Selling. I brought in three statue items unopened in the original packaging. I checked on ebay for what the items sold for (not asking price but sold price) and it added up to about $600, I lugged the items over there and had to leave them there because they wouldn't get to them right away. The people/kids working there were very nice. I went to have lunch and got the text to return, and they are offering $150. So I picked up the items and turned down the offer. Again, they were very nice, it's just I wasn't willing to accept 25% of the value. I figured at worst it would be 50%. But I am better off getting closer to the actual price on ebay. Now, Buying. Lots of very expensive and exiting things to get, and I didn't have time to price check things so much, but my son is into the Nintendo switch and i spotted a used Marvel VS Capcom game he might like. It was $34.95. But just in case, I pulled up Amazon and looked the game up. A brand new one costs $21.79. So it would have been a terrible idea for me to buy it there. I guess if you are leaving work and need a quick gift, you might stop in and pay too much for an item. If you are in real trouble and don't have time to wait for an Ebay sale, you might consider selling your collectables for 25% the value, this place might come in handy.

I came…read morehere because I met a participant in their charitable cause the prior day and wanted to support the effort. This store is about one mile from my house and I had never been here before, even though they have been here over 20 years. This was their annual charitable event. I was greeted the door by Storm Troopers and Darth Vader. It was obvious that they have the right formula here. The small shop is PACKED with comic books and memorabilia. This is clearly the home base for comic book collectors and aficionados. I was here to see one of the artists drawing and support their charitable cause. I always find it amazing to watch an artist go from pen-paint-pencil to paper. Amazing talent. I had the opportunity to meet a cmic book author. We had an amazing conversation that was capped off by determining we went to elementary school together in Queens. It's always a small world. The owner is a wonderful man who is dedicated to his passion and charity work. I am looking forward to next years show and will look to possibly partner with them in my own charitable events. Interior is not large, but they use the available space well. Paradox has a wall of new pull books and many shortboxes of back issues. Above these shortboxes are a fair selection of toys and collectables. Behind the counter are Pop Vinyl's, variant comic covers, and wall books. They also sell some sports cards and collectable card games. Employee was helpful and knowledgeable. This is a good small shop that has just about everything you would want out of a local comic shop.
