Our favorite little pet store is feeds plus which reminds me of the local candy store when I was growing up as a child in the Bronx. But that one was closed today so we headed over to pet goods. I like this shop that has prices about equivalent to the bigger stores because it's easy to get in and out of, there's Apple parking, and usually don't run into too many people at the same time. The location is near the Hand And Stone in the Shoppes at South Hills. This is the smaller mall to the south of the Galleria.

We would pretty much never go to the latter 2 if Pet Supplies Plus sold our favorite litter (soPhresh scented paper pellet). Otherwise, they offer many of the same features as the bigger box stores: -rewards points -a great variety of products for all kinds of animals -competitive prices and sales and relevant right now: -curbside pick-up Not as ubiquitous as Petsmart/Petco, I feel like this store has more of a locally-owned feel (looks like at least half of their 400 shops nationwide are individually owned/operated). I'd be a lot happier to shop here if they didn't sell live animals. Just putting that out there. Finally, their staff is exceptionally kind and helpful, much more so than I have historically encountered in the big box stores.

The same holds Tru for all of the gardening supplies, and I was really saddened to see that they are still selling like very dangerous pesticides that most countries ban. It's kind of an eye-opener. If I hire a contractor to work on my property and I asked them where they shop, I would be hesitant if they came in with products purchased at tractor supply because there's no way they're getting Organic products there.
