I wouldn't leave any stars If I could. I got a manufacturer coupon for a stale product that I purchased from feed barn (item was around $70.) feed barn tried telling me they wouldn't accept the coupon, which came directly from the company, for more than 1 product. Told me they would only accept it for 1 product. The coupon explicitly states "buy any product(s) for a max redemption value of $90." The manufacturer told me that it was completely unacceptable for feed barn to tell me they would only accept it for 1 product. I guess they wanted me to spend less so they could redeem it for the full value and make a profit. I won't be coming back here ever again. read more

I searched for "Feed Barn Brewster" so I could call and find out if they were open. That led me to see the overall rating and then I read the reviews. I do NOT recognize the store from the reviews I read. The sisters who run it have always been super-helpful to me, cordial, and welcoming. Their prices are competitive with anyone's. So, bottom line, I think the Feed Barn is a wonderful place with great service, good prices, and a stock of the products I buy. This review is very deliberately intended to counter some of the others I read. Note that I have no affiliation with The Feed Barn. I am just a very satisfied long term customer who drives 25 miles one way to shop there and thinks that reviews I read do not represent what the store has to offer.. read more

Our preferred source for birdseed especially, and, when we had ducks, for duck food as well. Of course they also have a variety of pet food and supplies, as well as fun novelties, like socks or calendars or cute mud boots. I don't get there as often as I'd like because it's a little out of the way, but I'm always glad when I do. Competitive pricing and some of the better brands, good stuff. read more

Feed barn is located in Brewster and has a variety of supplies ranging from small pets to larger pets such as horses. They carry all sizes of pet food. Most of their prices are reasonable especially when you compare them to larger pet stores such as Petsmart. However, I must caution everyone to check expiration dates on all food. If it is a popular brand that moves fast off the shelf you won't really find a problem. I was shopping for proplan dog food (smaller cans) and all of their cans were expired. All of the cans on the shelf (smaller proplan cans) were dated from 2017 and some from 2016. So please check dates. read more

This store is much smaller than their Mahopac location but a lot is stored in the back room. Great prices and reasonable selection despite cramped space. The 2-owners (sisters) are usually on the premises. One is very nice, sweet actually! The other, NOT SO MUCH! I always cringe having to deal with her at check-out, or God forbid ask a question! This store would get 5-stars if it weren't for the one sister/owner, which really is quite sad. Since I live in-between the Mahopac & Brewster stores, I shop at both. read more

I frequent the Feed Barn. I don't live in the area but I have it on the loop of errands which I usually do to the north. I have to take exception to those who took time to write a bad if not rude review. The Feed Barn has the best prices around, they are well stocked, and they offer you help to your car. I have not been back to this store in years because of the rude service this store provides. I stopped in recently to try it again because i was in the area and experienced the same curt replies when you ask for a product. You would think they were giving it to you for free. My experiences in this store has yet to end nicely. Owner/manager quite rude did not offer any type of help with my dissatification with product . Actually treated me like crap ! The staff is rude. Returned something that had been purchased less than 24 hours earlier because it didn't suite my needs. It was NOT used and in the same condition as when I purchased it a few hours earlier. The woman was nasty about the return, gave me a hard time about it, and then told me store policy dictates that she couldn't refund my credit card. Who are they to dictate where I spend MY money? So, now I'm forced to actually have to shop there again? They get to keep my money, resell the item, and make money on both counts? I said I didn't appreciate having someone tell me that I HAVE to spend my money at their store, and I do think it's a bunch of bull that a credit card can't be refunded. HOWEVER, this is a small town and word gets out quickly when you have bad customer service. I'm stuck with that gift certificate, but it will be the last thing I ever purchase there. I hope others will follow the lead and let them know their behavior to the public stinks. read more

The OLD WOMEN are very RUDE. They don't feel arguing with a customer is rude! Don't try to ask any questions of them otherwise they'll just argue with you and throw you out of the store. They don't have knowledge of what supply's and brands they have. They Need Better Customer Service. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Nasty people on the phone who, when they do actually ANSWER the phone, are not the least bit helpful. I was lied to on so many occasions about when the Mahopac store would be reopened following a fire over a year ago and the Brewster location is very far away. I asked for a manager and was told "we don't have one." Right. I asked if the "acting manager" would accommodate a very good customer who was lied to and all she did was blame the landlord in Mahopac - news flash, that is NOT the consumer's fault - DO NOT blame others. I can't stand being told "there is nothing we can do" when there is PLENTY you can do - ship the product, have someone deliver it, even meet me halfway or at the other location in the parking lot - NOTHING. I don't know how these people stay in business other than most shoppers don't really care because they walk in, make their purchases and leave. I didn't think Brewster had such deplorable human beings who condescend so greatly to others but I was wrong. These people are the worst. I hope anyone reading this review goes to PetSmart or some other competitor. Shameful. As a matter of fact I just called a local vendor I have been using, didn't even know they carry exotic pet food, turns out they do and they will work with me on price to match Feed Barn so I will NEVER shop at Feed Barn ever again. I'm so happy that Bennie's in Bedford Hills has NICE people working there, unlike the scrooges at Feed Barn. Really pathetic. read more
