Get naked! Yes, in this unique experience you get butt naked. Don't worry, you have a private room with a locked door. This float is a deprivation chamber.... basically. It's actually very nice. You get a private room, with your own shower and float. After showering, you get 1 hour in the float. It's like a very large Jacuzzi that's only a foot deep. The water has a ton of bath salts or Epsom salt, which is magnesium sulfate. Your body will feel weightless, as if you were laying on a cloud. Anicca Float Club is BY FAR the best float club I've ever been to... You can tell that it was designed lovingly with comfort, quality, form and function in mind, from start to finish, from the separate entrance and waiting area, to the sparkling clean washrooms (which are far enough away from the floatation rooms that you're not hearing toilets flushing and the like), to, of course, the beautiful float rooms, complete with rainfall showers in the shower area WITH the option for handheld wand as well. The water pressure in the showers is quite good, so you won't be left scrambling to wash off before and after your float. You can also control whether or not the lights stay on during your float session, and the owner gives you some great practical tips and tricks to avoid things like stinging cuts and salt water in your eyes, that even as a seasoned floater, I wasn't aware of, upon speaking with him. This place is just phenomenal. What an outstanding experience I had floating today. It completely took away the remnants of the migraine I had been suffering with. I also happened to notice that the shampoo and conditioner left my textured, mixed ethnicity hair soft and silky which, as the owner of a wellness business with a skin and haircare line, I am quite attuned to. I should also mentioned that I ended up being late for my float due to an emergency (I was too embarrassed to say on the phone that this emergency centered around the dog having diarrhea ‍ ). The business owner was flexible, kind and understanding, and moved my appointment to later in the afternoon. A completely wonderful experience. I don't like strangers touching me, so massages are not a thing for me and I have been searching for a way to de-stress. This was perfect. The facility was incredibly clean which was a concern for me, as the recommendation is to "get naked". I did have a *bit* of a hiccup, as I was in float room 4 and the shower temperature seems to be reversed. Hot is cold and cold is hot. I FROZE in my pre-float shower and was glad I figured things out for my post-float cleaning. Other than that things went smoothly and the gentleman helping was wonderful. He even noticed it was my birthday week and wished me "Happy Birthday" as I was leaving. I plan on joining as a member so I can experience this regularly. Most soothing, relaxing place ever! Heather is super sweet and helpful. I don't know what else to say but that Love it and can't wait to go back for another visit. You can book online, via phone or even text. They are very technologically savvy. All the employees that respond to you are friendly. They have four huge tank rooms. (So me and my two friends could go together!) Not just an isolation tank here. So even if you're claustrophobic, you should be able to enjoy this peaceful experience. There are ambient blue lights and soothing waves sounds. Either or both of which you can turn off if you want the full, immersive isolation experience. If you're claustrophobic, these items will help you feel like you're in a big room floating. Instead of closed in. So when you get there, relax. Have some tea and converse quietly or just enjoy your own thoughts until it's your time. Heather will give you a quick rundown of getting ready to take this delightful trip. No need to bring anything. They have sulfate free shampoo, body wash and conditioner (for afterwards! No conditioner, makeup or oils in the pools!) Towels are provided. And robes if you need to run to the restroom. Earplugs are provided as well. They even have silicone caps if you need one for colored or water challenged hair. Just let them know. Now take your shower and get on in. Time for you to rest, recharge and be with your own thoughts. Or not if you can clear your mind. It will seem like it could be forever but then all the sudden you're done and the gentle Asian music is soothing you into awareness that you don't want to leave. Lol Climb on out and wash the salt off. Dry off and get dressed. Wander down the hall. There is a nice dressing room to become presentable. Combs, dryers, q-tips and lotion provided in front of nice big mirrors. A very bright room of sunshiny yellow to awaken you. Now go back out to the blissful reception area and it's comfy couches, nifty sand table, peaceful nature scenes on the big tv and enjoy the silence and relax with a cup of tea before heading back out to reality. Tonight was my first float and it was amazing! The studio is very relaxing and clean. Instructions were simple. Shower, get naked, float. This was one of the coolest things I've ever experienced. So glad I got myself to disconnect for a little while. Afterwards you get to hang out in the lobby with some tea and good conversation. I definitely will be back for more. Looking forward to it. I recommend going in at least 15 minutes early if it's your first visit so you have time to fill out a short waiver and you'll be able to look around the facility. If you haven't tried floating before, it's totally worth it! I went for the first time while visiting a friend in Seattle last year, and it was the most relaxing, energizing experience. I was excited to find Anicca and bought a float for myself and a friend (who recently had her 3rd child and was in need of a little R&R). I was already a convert, but she was skeptical. An hour later, she came out of her room saying she would do that again. The private float rooms are very clean, and the staff provide all of the information a first timer would need to know. I was able to fall asleep during my session, it is such a relaxing environment. My first float and let me say, I went into Anicca very nervous. I had heard a lot about how amazing a salt float is and have been dying to try it but once I booked my first float I made the ultimate mistake.... I GOOGLED what to expect! I showed up super nervous, worried about sea sickness and clausterphobia and left feeling brand new! When I got there the lovely gal working there, Heather, greeted me and asked if I would like to have a cup of tea before my float. I was the last appointment of the day and normally you'd have it after but I opted to have it before hand because I needed to calm my nerves and I was pretty early. I got a lemon green tea (loose leaf) that was delicious and served in a cute tea mug. I talked with Heather a little bit and she alleviated a lot of my concerns about floating. She explained the dimensions of the room, how it works, the healing properties, and even how much salt is in each chamber. When it was time for me to go in, Heather walked me back and walked me through the process. You get your own room with a full shower, ear plugs, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, q-tips, and a robe. The back wall of the shower is actually the enterance to your floating room and there is a door you go through so you dont even have to leave the shower to get to it. The floating room itself is WAY bigger than I expected. It was very odd to get in because I didn't honestly believe that I was going to float without effort but I definitely did! You have the option to leave the calming beach sounds on and the lights but I wanted to try the sensory deprevision so once I was situated I turned everything off. I'm not going to lie, it took a few minutes to get comfortable. All I could hear was my own breathing like I was impersonating Darth Vadar but once I got used to everything and relaxed my breathing regulated and became more quiet. I was so relaxed and couldnt tell if I fell asleep or just dazed off. Afterward I showered off all of the salt and actually liked the shampoo and conditioner provided. My skin was so soft and I felt rejuvinated! While I thought my calusterphobia was going to kick in, it didn't and I wound up really enjoying the float. read more

I forgot their names but from the moment I entered, they were nothing short of hospitable. Once I entered, I was greeted cordially. Everything was explained thoroughly. I went into my room. I've been floating for a couple years, and have had a chance to visit over a dozen centers in that time. It's fair to say that Anicca is among my favorites! The center is well thought out, with ample space for clients to prepare for their float. The float rooms they chose are wonderful, especially for those who are afraid of the older, smaller float tank style. There's no way to feel claustrophobic or uncomfortable in these tanks. And at 6'3" I still have plenty of room to stretch out without touching the edges of the tank. Ok, here's my thoughts on the experience but first off, Thank you Justin for taking me- this was much needed! So, I'll start by saying I've never experienced anything quite like this and was able to achieve a "nothingness" state for a brief time which, for those who meditate know that's not always simple. While I was suspended in pitch black w/ no sound, the first 10 minutes, I was trying to find the right posture, once I lifted my hands above my head- I felt like I was on a cloud and stress began to melt... it felt like I was slowly spinning... my mind raced with the usual, then once I focused on my breathing I began to drift off feeling no tension in and muscles or joints... I stayed there for a while until being in a twilight thinking about how blessed I am then a while later music lightly vibrated in the water letting me know time has come to depart form the comfort of this salt water cacoon. I felt mellow, refreshed and didn't move too quickly getting out. I relaxed and conversed with my brother, the owner and an intriguing couple for a bit sipping tea in their front lounge. Wow... not too often I enjoy something so much! It's like a massage for your soul if that makes any sense. I would advise, don't shave just before lol it is salt and doesn't exactly feel great. Be mindful of keeping the water off your face and eyes, other than that- relax and float away! Also, center yourself (see what I did there lol) in the salt bath so you dont make contact with the walls, touching the walls while in a peaceful state will stimulate your senses and bring you back to where you are. It's a wonderful way to decompress and think about nothing and float effortlessly or your mind could go in various directions of multitasking. I can't wait to go again! This time would have been more wonderful if I wasn't still wheezing from a cold, but, I was much more relaxed than the first time. I did some researching on relaxation and found floating. I have a very active mind and it's extremely difficult for me to fall asleep, let alone relax. I also have some very bad sleep issues. I found Anicca Float through Yelp and was so impressed with the reviews and pictures. I was so happy to see that it was in the burbs and not out in the city, that they were reasonably priced, and best of all - they weren't claustrophobic tanks. I came here with my boyfriend recently and the reviews are on point - the facility was extremely clean and the couple who own the place are so friendly, they treat you like you're a friend. Great instructions for easy understanding before and after. I loved how private the rooms were and how gorgeous the showers were. And of course the tea and water at the end! I hate to give this place 4 stars out of all the 5 out there, however, my experience was not 100% amazing. I think I went into the experience with very high hopes and I feel like they were dashed. Let me say that this isn't the fault of the facility or the owners. As soon as I started to float it was very nearly impossible for me to shut my mind off as it's always racing. I laid there for awhile and I felt like the time was dragging, I did try to let go and almost had it. However, towards the end I had a pretty bad anxiety attack (for I don't know what reason at all) and got nauseous and immediately had to get out. Thankfully I had only gotten out about 10-15 minutes before the float was supposed to be over so it wasn't too much of a waste of me getting out early. It was really hard to shake my nerves and relax afterwards. I feel that it may not be fair to judge based on my first visit alone, however, I'm so hesitant/scared to come back because of my experience and I definitely don't want to repeat it again. For people who want to try this place out I so recommend coming here. I just wish that I knew before coming in that all floats are different, that maybe the first time may not be amazing like someone else's, or that you could possibly get motion sickness. This place is amazing! This was my first float as well and I have to say my experience was.......words won't describe it. I've wanted to float for some time but didn't want to drive all the way to chicago. I'm in Joliet and this is a MUCH closers drive. The owners of this place have to be to two of the coolest people alive, very nice peaceful people. They made me feel like I was honestly a friend, not a customer. They were super informative and didn't rush the process at all. The facility is SO CLEAN! It looks like a model of a clean business not one that's actually being used, that seriously how clean this place is lol. The float itself is an amazing experience, you reach a level of relaxation that I don't think you can get without floating. You feel so comfortable, the water and air are heated to the temp of your skin and the room is BLACK no lighting(if you choose so, you can also leave the light on in the tank) so your senses are pretty much gone. I am a fan of Epsom salt baths. When I completed the Chicago marathon years ago, it was Epsom salt baths that revived my aching body, relieved my soreness and healed the blisters on feet. If you are a runner, you know what I am talking about. When I heard of Annica float club's concept, I knew I had to give it a try. Annica's concept takes epsom salt baths to another level that can't be achieved in your own home. The center is very clean, polished, and inviting. This is one of the most amazing things I have done. I am a big guy that has played a rough competitive sport my whole life. I have had a great deal of pain over the years and nothing has worked as well as floating! After my 2nd session yesterday my knee an shoulder popped back into place something that I have been trying to do for years. Lindsay and Paul are GREAT people. I am not a very social person but they have created an atmosphere that it's impossible to not be relaxed. They are both very nice and easy to talk to and are extremely knowledgeable in floating. Firstly, I just want to add that that I was too excited and anxious to get myself in the tank so I forgot to take as many photos as I originally planned. However, the pictures I did take, as well as any other photos uploaded, provides absolutely no justice as to what you see/feel/vibe the second you step foot into this place. So they both most definitely set the vibe before you float based on their zen-ful professionalism and nurturing personalities which allows you to feel at ease if you have any questions at any time. They give you personally/individually an astounding presentation of the rooms, and the procedures that take place both before and after the float. They also are totally open to have any weird/random questions you may have (I did!) about things that possibly may occur during the float session. They provide hands on instructions and guidance of the entirety of the process which leaves you feeling assured and comfortable. The ambiance of the entire business is absolutely wondrous. All of the rooms, hallways, waiting area, common area, can personally only be defined as: mind blowing sensory serenity. You do not feel like you are at a business, you feel like you are on vacation. Not some corny all inclusive vacation, but a vacation dedicated to your consciousness and mind. You feel like you are supposed to be there, not that you were told to go there. Tried this out on a Groupon, so happy that I did. My BF and I have gone three times now and I feel great after my float. The first one I was much too much in my head, second one I was fussing with getting my neck to relax, this one, well this one had me feeling like the universe. So I discovered floating in Los Angeles 2 years ago and when I'm was back home here in Chicago, I knew I needed to find a place here to continue my stress relief. After some research, and not feeling too keen on my downtown options for floating from 2 places to choose from at the time, opted to try this new place more than a year ago April. From the first float, I was made to feel welcome with a genuiness not seen lately. The owners are fantastic folks who are passionate about this industry and about helping people achieve a new level of relaxation. They have 4 float rooms, all immaculately kept. Each spacious private locking room has a nice bench and wall rack to keep your belongings dry and salt free. There are nice fluffy tools provided and a robe as well incase you need to run to the restroom. Nice large shower area with body wash, shampoo and conditioner on tap for your use. They feature custom float tubs that you enter thru a glass door once you shower. There is always some lighting to help keep you safe when entering and exiting the float chamber. You can control the mood light in the tub once you are floating. The lighting and soothing music let's you know when your hour is up.
