    tuscan ham w/ sun-dried tomatoes

Great spot worth a visit when visiting Vatican City. The sandwich I ordered was simple but different from others I've eaten in Rome so far. A thick piece of Tuscan Ham topped with sun-dried tomatoes on freshly toasted bread couldn't have been better.

I can appreciate the location and the handmade drawings with the notes from around the world. The panini itself has high quality ingredients and tastes great but as you can see there isn't much in the sandwich itself.

We were looking for a quick lunch spot before heading to the Vatican museums. A quick yelp search led us here. We just had a really good Porchetta panini near the Vatican yesterday, so we said why not try another place. You order at the counter, you sit and wait for your food and you pay when you're done eating. They also have beer, wine and some sodas. The place is pretty small. It probably fit a dozen people inside. We ordered the Porchetta panini, and it's the best one we had in Rome. The Porchetta was so much more flavorful than what we've had before. I'd love to just take a whole roll of that Porchetta home if I could. Lol A cool thing is you get to write something on the paper they serve the sandwich with and post it on the wall. Also, apparently the great Tony Bourdain recommended this place - something I didn't know until we were done eating!

This was the best, all the ingredients were extremely high quality, it looks so simple yet so perfectly paired, I ordered one full sandwich and then ordered two more full sandwiches because of how good they were

So I took a lime bike from my hotel to here as it was only a 10 min bike ride . Upon arriving I met Guido. Going through some of the Yelp Reviews I noticed Anthony Bourdain ate here 5 years ago which made it a profound experience. Guido showed me love. He cut up salami , cheeses , porchetta, for me to try!! Even gave me a fork with nduja. Which was a hotter salmi which tasted and looked like a elevated slim Jim on steroids. I ordered the classic number 1 Angry Pig Straight up simple just bread and porchetta The porchetta here is really good and the rosemary / seasoned well. Now the bread in Europe can't be compared to the "bread" we have in America but that's on a separate note. The decor of the shop with all the artwork from patrons makes this place stand out. I am a huge fan on the Sammy and the food. I got two sandwiches for 12 bucks Thank you Guido for loving thy neighbor as you love thyself.

Had to visit because we were staying nearby and say that the late Tony had recommended it. We ordered the porchetta, which was quite tasty, the bread was unique and had a great crunch. Was definitely missing something more fatty. Found that maybe it was just not aligned to my personal tastes, wasn't bad, wasn't great.

Our new friend Guido , during our Disney Cruise June /July 2023. Stopped at his shop for delicious sandwiches and Ichnuso Beer .

A great shop to buy delicious sandwiches freshly made while you wait . Cold Ichinuso Beer to go with it . Guido, he's a funny guy , has humor and we enjoyed his company. We went there on our way to the Vatican. We even got to post on his wall .

Great place close to the Vatican City. Food is amazing and the portions are just about right. Highly recommended

Photo of pochetta panini #5. Very good!

My son and I each had a different porchetta panini. They were both excellent. The number 4 was the best. The number 5 had some spice. Excellent place.

Loved the hole in the wall vibe of the place. Loved the friendly owner. Loved the quality of the porchetta. But truthfully.....I'm going to sound like an arrogant American. We know sandwiches. It's the one thing that us Americans do really really well. We've mastered putting an entire meal between 2 slices of bread. Hoagies, Subs, Grinders, Po-Boys, Paninis......call it what you want, you can find amazing sandwiches all over the US. I couldn't help but think....if only this sandwich had a little of this or that, it could be better. Not sure why the bread was so dry on each one of the sandwiches? I know you aren't going to get mayo on your sandwich here, although the porchetta was crying out for a pesto aioli. But I'm sure some olive oil drizzled on the ciabatta would have really gone a long way. We tried one porchetta with sundried tomatoes and one with porchetta with grilled eggplant and njuda (spicy spreadable salami). We also tried a Salami with Pecorino. Again adding a thick slab of a dry cheese to a dry sandwich, isn't the best idea. 3.5 stars for the sandwiches. This was the only meal I had in Italy, where I felt conflicted by my Americanism. Yes I enjoyed all my pasta al dente. No I didn't ask for pepperoni on my pizza. Didn't mind the prawns having the heads still on. But a dry sandwich, even with good ingredients, I so wanted to "get it the Italian American way" and make an ok sandwich, great. You know order the footlong Gabagool with provolone, everything on it, extra dressing. Now go ahead and point me to McDonalds.....I know I have it coming.

Very good porchetta sandwich with pork from Ariccia. Gentleman at the helm was helpful and looked after our orders -- and posted the boys' drawings. Great sandwich post-Vatican Museum.

    Spicy Sopressata! Warning! Quite hot!

It's very delicious and out of my expectations , and a lot of local customers also come here not only tourists.

Great food, cold drinks. Easy to get to, although we almost walked past it the first time. Friendly service. Not a ton of seating.

Occupying Via Silla 26a since 2018, and part of a slow transition whereby Prati is growing a gastronomic culture beyond fast food targeting tourists, it is beginning at 12h00 that guests are welcomed to a spacious room including kitchen, bar and microbrewery plus English-friendly service. Happy to accept online reservations, though largely unnecessary throughout most of a day that extends until 02h00, it is once seated amidst spacious confines that guests are invited to decide amongst several Bottles and Taps, while Food remains "Bar" friendly without cutting corners. Reserving some items for dinner, but serving most of their menu from open to close, many diners will likely gravitate to Fritti, low prices nevertheless a poor excuse for Suppli that was too dense and oily, not to mention flaccid Roast Potatoes that probably would be better off fried. Improving substantially with Breads, a brand familiar with fermentation predictably utilizing their own Yeast to develop everything on site, it is not till later that Pizzas and Calzone are available, which leaves diners at lunch a tough decision between sandwiched "Antifocaccia" with an assortment of toppings or Teglia - Roman Pan Pizza - that crackles to the tooth before yielding its pillow-soft upper layer.

Still an enjoyable lunch, but not a very memorable one, partly because I'd had so much other pizza on the trip. They don't serve big pizzas or calzones at lunch sadly, so they only have personal pies. Thicker dough, somewhat crunchy crust, not my favorite topping options but the marinara and margherita were both solid. Could easily finish two of them though so one likely won't be filling. The cacio e pepe was pretty good, too heavy on the cheese and probably a bit much for lunch. Stick to the pizza and beer.
