The Last Supper. (eurotrip style)…read more My very last meal in Europe. This is a small bar/lounge on the side of the market that is popped up during the day but of course me and my friend are eating near midnight because we are still on Vegas time. This was one of the closest places to us that had an open kitchen. They invited us in for drinks and a great time. I ordered a ginger ale because I wasn't feeling well and my friend ordered some Coke. We took a look a quick look at the menu and my friend decided to order a pizza. She meant to say just cheese but instead order a 4 cheese pizza with no sauce. I took one bite and noticed 1 of the 4 cheeses taste very weird. I then ate only the crust. The best part of this place was the people. They employees were dancing around and having fun. They were really relaxed and just hanging around with the locals. Again the place is a lounge. They had music inside, EDM (which I was very pleased with) and they had girls dancing and some of the employee couldn't help but stare. These girls were in tight small shorts and then the fun began. One employee took the girls attention while the other took a picture of her butt. Usually i would be mad and angry but it was really funny and the guy saw me see him and they showed me the picture, it was blurry and dark but he then proceeded to hit on me and my friend. Hilarious way to end my trip.

Occupying Via Silla 26a since 2018, and part of a slow transition whereby Prati is growing a gastronomic culture beyond fast food targeting tourists, it is beginning at 12h00 that guests are welcomed to a spacious room including kitchen, bar and microbrewery plus English-friendly service. Happy to accept online reservations, though largely unnecessary throughout most of a day that extends until 02h00, it is once seated amidst spacious confines that guests are invited to decide amongst several Bottles and Taps, while Food remains "Bar" friendly without cutting corners. Reserving some items for dinner, but serving most of their menu from open to close, many diners will likely gravitate to Fritti, low prices nevertheless a poor excuse for Suppli that was too dense and oily, not to mention flaccid Roast Potatoes that probably would be better off fried. Improving substantially with Breads, a brand familiar with fermentation predictably utilizing their own Yeast to develop everything on site, it is not till later that Pizzas and Calzone are available, which leaves diners at lunch a tough decision between sandwiched "Antifocaccia" with an assortment of toppings or Teglia - Roman Pan Pizza - that crackles to the tooth before yielding its pillow-soft upper layer.

Still an enjoyable lunch, but not a very memorable one, partly because I'd had so much other pizza on the trip. They don't serve big pizzas or calzones at lunch sadly, so they only have personal pies. Thicker dough, somewhat crunchy crust, not my favorite topping options but the marinara and margherita were both solid. Could easily finish two of them though so one likely won't be filling. The cacio e pepe was pretty good, too heavy on the cheese and probably a bit much for lunch. Stick to the pizza and beer.

Open Baladin was on my list of the most popular bars in Rome on Yelp (in terms of number of reviews) and it was close to where we were at, so we made out way in the afternoon on a Friday. Ambiance (4/5): Open Baladin looks a lot different than your typical Roman establishment. Bright colors, quirky decor, and a beautiful bar area are some of the highlights here. We sat at a table as we wanted to avoid the bar stools (no back support so I've never been a fan). Service (3/5): Typical Italian service. Not terribly attentive or friendly but gets the job done. We had to track down our waiter once or twice to order a beer and close out but that's standard fare in Europe. Food (3/5): My partner in crime had a burger while I had a sandwich with proscuitto and cheese. Pretty much your typical Italian sandwich. Fresh and adequate. Though a bit overpriced. Drinks (4.5/5): This is the highlight. Open Baladin has a fantastic selection of beers including those that I would qualify outside of your typical run-of-the-mill. They have a Belgian beer section of the menu which is always an indication that a bar takes their beer seriously. And most interestingly, for me, they have grape beer . . . say what?! I had never heard of it either. Beer made with grapes, that's a first. While it's not something I would order often, I very much enjoyed trying something new and unique like this. And here I thought grapes were just used to make wine! If you're looking for a cool spot to grab a brew, with a fantastic beer list, and a different vibe than your typical Italian bar, make sure to check them out!

That being said, he wanted to try some beer bars during our time in Italy so we put a few on our agenda to check out. Open Baladin was one of these spots, and since we had some time before our dinner reservation we stopped here for some beer. Walking in, I was really impressed with the space - it's large with a combination of high tops and tables throughout the dining area. The back wall housed the bar which had bottles stacked up to the ceilings - this made for a really striking focal point. The color scheme was mostly dark woods and warm colors which fit well for being a beer bar. The menu had a large selection of beer, I decided to go with one of their holiday varieties which was quite good. They had a small food selection, and I specifically noticed they had a variety of homemade chips. These seemed like the ideal snack so I ordered some of their original variety which came with homemade ketchup. These were great - not greasy and the ketchup really made it something special. Service was good, everyone was friendly and overall we had a great experience at Open Baladin. Even if you're not the biggest beer drinker, there's enough variety to find something for most people, and the food shouldn't be overlooked.

Nobody approached our table in about 5 minutes; so we decided to go in and ask for service. The gentleman inside said he didn't realize we were there and he came out with some menus for us. They had lots of cool sounding burgers and sandwiches; plus a full bar. I ordered a chicken sandwich that also had cheese, bacon, and barbecue sauce. It was really delicious! The bun was super fresh and the cheese was very melted. It came with thinly sliced, circular potato wedges. They were unusual; but just ok tasting. I also had a blonde beer which was recommended by our server. I really enjoyed the beer. My sister ordered a burger with cheese and bacon. She said it was good; but she didn't want to eat the bun and all the cheese stuck to it when she attempted to separate it. She also had a few Aperol spritzes which she said were really good. Overall we did like our food and they were served on cute little wooden plates. Although we initially wanted to dine outside; we realized it wasn't a great idea because we were continually hassled by African vendors selling bracelets. (There were literally at least 10 of them: however they all used the same corny sales pitch.). The food was great; and it came out rather quickly. If you want an outside dining experience: I would suggest you sit a little closer to the building.

Good thing I listened to my instincts and to Yelp! because this place really ruled! Here, I had one of the best burgers I had eaten in quite some time. This place offers up mostly burgers--either made with ground beef or sausage. We tried one of each, and both meats are super tasty! Beyond the tender, first-rate burger patties, however, are the speciality toppings they serve on their burgers. I'm pretty convinced after eating at Knick Knack that you probably can't go wrong with any of them! Tony tried the Nevermind Burger, which a number of Yelpers had raved about. I tried one with BBQ sauce and mushrooms. We went splitsies on burger halves so we could each try each other's concoctions. OMG! I just couldn't take it. Both were just utterly mouthwatering! Oh, how I wish this place were in my own back yard because I'd be there right now!!! Note that while this place is located pretty much right across from the Vatican, we found no tourists there. It's like a hidden secret! But, then again, mosts tourists are probably looking for pasta. Glad we weren't!! This place was amazing!

The name is probably after an Irish folk ballad by Tommy Makem. We sat at the bar, as we only wanted drinks. On a Friday at 11 or 11:30 it was busy but not packed. The bartender was nice enough, but they did not know what a BLACK VELVET was! (Guinness and cider) They knew how to pour Guinness (in 2 parts) but the only cider they had was bottled, which is typical, but they looked at us as if we were nuts when we explained that Guinness is sometimes mixed with other beers/liquids to form new drinks. They need a bilingual mixologist in there if they want to attract Americans (but who said they were?) The atmosphere was upbeat, the bartenders were civil but not 'friendly' in the way I'm used to in a pub, but it was fine, I'd go back for lunch/dinner.
