Very cool place! The environment is definitely more relaxed with a nice bar and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Not being from the area, I'm not sure how packed it normally is but our wait was 20 minutes for a party of 7 around 8:30pm. The service was great and the staff was open, high energy, and helpful through the visit. The bartender in-shift was friendly and prompt with service as we waited for our table. Pro tip- the spiciness levels are on the hotter side. Our order of mild was hotter than a typical mild, and definitely were glad we did not go higher on the scale. read more

I couldn't believe it had been years since I last dined at an Angry Crab Shack (ACS, much more fun to spell out with emojis.) We came to celebrate July's ISCUYE, if you don't know what that is you're missing out. This is the original location, and I didn't realize how many they have now. Newest one will open in Happy Valley, FYI. I love how unpretentious this place is, I made sure not to wear white but obviously they give you bibs and paper towels to stay semi-clean as you eat. They put large sheets of paper on the table and write the server's name on it, which is a smart idea. They were raising money for an organization and just for coming in, we donated $0.50, and with each drink ordered we added to the donation. Another clever idea. We sat in the back near the handwashing station. I went with what I ordered my first time: shrimp (*new* option: heads off!), trifecta sauce, spice level 3, corn, and 2 potatoes. My bag came out first since I was the first to order at the table, and the remaining ones followed suit. It was delicious, as I remembered, but the spice level was not as hot as my previous experience. It definitely got my nose running but I think I could bump it up to a 4 (like the brave Monica O.) The shrimp were good and it helped not having the heads to deal with. The corn and potatoes soaked up the sauce pretty well. Our server was nice but she seemed to forget a few things that were ordered, like drinks and boxes. One person got the pacific rim sauce (coconut curry-like) and really liked it, so I may have to branch out and try something new next time. Great company, fun and messy environment. So glad to get back to one of our favorite spots! We have not been frequenting restaurants as often as we did pre-Covid. We ordered at home a few times over the last couple years but this was the first time back into the restaurant. It was just as good as before! The kids finally graduated to the adult menu. We ordered oysters on the half shell, fried calamari, three different boils and a catfish basket. Everything was delicious! The service was amazing. I am basing my rating on customer service cleanliness and food. Walking in we were greeted and felt at home. The staff there are all smiles and do a great job with being persistent. The restaurant smelled clean every utensil and cup was clean so great job on cleanliness. The part where they did not pass my review was that i bought 2 pounds of king crab at 55$ per pound market price. Me being a seasoned chef i know my ounce sizing. This crab was soggy and meat was shriveled a big sign that the crab was well over cooked. I took all the meat out and it was more or less about 6 oz. Of neat shriveled and over cooked. Wowza! This place is incredible! How have we never been here before?! We ordered the seafood boil with shrimp and king crab with corn and potatoes. Decided on the Trifecta sauce at a level 2 of spicy. Soooooo good! Flavored incredibly well and delicious. We also ordered the "bread for soppin" as my sister raves about it. It was meh. My sister said they didn't usually add garlic to the bread, but that this time they had. I would recommend a non-garlic option, as it was a little overwhelming. We got seated and was greeted by a super friendly waitress which is always refreshing and adds to the experience. We ordered Boil for 2 which came with 2 Lobster tails, King crab, snow crab, and deveined shrimp in their Trifecta sauce. Spice level was a medium. It was definitely flavorful, but too salty. We got a large party together to eat here and it was like old times again. Angry Crab Shack uses a fusion of Asian and Cajun flavors in their bag boils. Seafood choices include Snow and King Crab, Dungeness crab, shrimp, crawfish, and lobster. Tables are covered with butcher paper and you are supplied with a bib for your interactive food experience. I like my seafood boils with some heat and always get the trifecta (a combination of three sauces) level 3. Corn on the cob is always a good add-on in a bag boil. My husband, daughter (3yr old) and I to split. It came with two small potato's, 1 full corn on the cob cut in half, two lobster tails (very small maybe 3oz), 1 claw snow crab cluster (so 5 single small crab legs, very thin, no bigger than the width of your thumb), a hand full of shrimp and 2 single king crab legs. All in probably $40 worth of seafood if we would have purchased at Costco and Frys and made ourselves. The crazy bibs and fun ambiance just isn't worth the mark up for my family. We did leave feeling hungry and like we wasted 100 bucks. If you are not one to cook seafood at home and looking to spend some money on good flavors and service I would recommend checking it out. We generally frequent the other location in Arcadia but I decided to get my Cajun fix at this one since I was in the area. Hands down Angry crab is my favourite of all Cajun seafood places. The magic is in the trifecta which is a mix of garlic, lemon pepper and Cajun. The restaurant was packed during dinner but they got my order pretty quickly. The seafood boil was perfect. I could always use a more generous helping of the trifecta sauce in the bag. You can also choose from a bunch of things like corn, sausage, red potatoes or vegetables which you can add to the bag. This, unfortunately, did not hit the spot. I ordered carry out online, which took about 15 minutes. The food was ready by the time I arrived at 4pm on a Friday evening. The place seemed pretty busy because I waited at least 5 minutes before someone was able to help me. The hostess was nice and asked if I needed any silverware and napkins for my order. Grabbed my stuff and left. The food was still warm by the time arrived home another 15 minutes later. The lobster rolls were fine, not the best I've had but definitely not bad either. It came with a side of something which I think was just melted butter. I ate one roll with the butter and without and didn't really notice a difference. The sweet potato fries were great. My six-year-old had the fried shrimp with sweet potato fries. He loved it because there were no shrimp leftovers! Unfortunately, the scallop bowl with rice was horrendous. This might have been due to the fact that I ordered the 2nd spiciest level they offered, scorpion I believe. I took one bite and my mouth burned for at least 20 minutes followed by a stomach ache. Aside from it being unbearable spicy, the bowl didn't have any flavor. My mother poured in a packet of salt to try to give it more flavor and she NEVER does that. The appetizer we ordered was pretty awful as well. The shrimp itself was fine, but the cocktail sauce tasted horrible. I drove all the way back to ask for a refund on the scallop bowl and shrimp appetizer. The manager asked what was wrong and didn't hesitate to refund my order. While I waited for the manager to process the refund multiple staff members asked if I was being helped. I guess that shows that the stuff is pretty attentive and helpful. While I won't be ordering that again, I'm open to trying this place out again. Overall, I give the food a solid 2 stars but their customer service is definitely a 4.5. read more

Me and my family LOVE this place. The environment is loud and fun, so be prepared for that. I have no issue with it but some people might not love it. They sound an alarm whenever somebody orders the hottest sauce so be careful bringing people with sensory issues! The food is always amazing. I always get the seafood boil. What else would I get? I always opt for snow crab, shrimp, and mussels. You get to pick your sauce type, spice level, and any add ons for the bag. Trifecta is the best sauce in my opinion! Full of cajun and garlic flavor. The cajun fries are a staple too. The spice levels get very spicy! It's cajun seasoning so if you've never had it, opt for a lower spice level and work your way up next time. Yes, it can get expensive. Sea food is expensive. I'd say it's average prices, but I haven't been in for a bit now. So I can't attest to that at the moment. Be prepared for a big bill! Especially if you're with a family. Even then, with only two people you can rack up a $100+ bill if you love seafood enough! Worth it though! You literally get a bag full of seafood, a bib, scissors and crab crackers. That's it. You eat with your hands here! I'm sure you could get silverware if you wanted but I can't imagine it would be easy to work with lol. It's messy, but fun. And delicious! I've never had a bad piece of seafood from angry crab. My husband and I just returned from a vacation in Europe and were living on nothing but seafood. Within three days of being back we were craving seafood and needed to go to the Angry Crab Shack. The Angry Crab Shack is the best for spicy, hot and amazing shell fish. You can eat pounds of seafood, enjoy a beer and watch a game, all three wonderful things! We've become addicts of this location and are always craving "The Trifecta" flavors of ACS. We've tried the lobster, shrimp, crawfish and crab and none disappoint. Our absolute favorite is the shrimp only because you don't have to work as hard and get a large piece of meat with each bite. The only other tip I would give is to be absolutely sure that you order some corn bread! It goes so well with all the seafood and trifecta juice at the bottom of the bag. This place is so good, my mouth was literally watering as I was writing this and I almost asked my husband if we could cancel our party plans tonight just so we could add ACS in our weekend mix. We usually frequent this location about twice a month. However, yesterday was the last time we'll ever come to this location. We ordered: 1 dozen Charred Oysters, 1 pound of Deveined and Head-off Shrimp, 1 order of sausage and 1 pound of King Crab Legs. The Charred Oysters were burnt. Super inedible and tasted disgusting. We ended up trashing them. The Shrimp, Crab Legs and Sausage were cold. They weren't even heated to room temperature. We live less than 5 minutes away. Once we got the food home, we had to re-cook it. The only thing that was fresh was the bread that came with the oysters. It's very disappointing when you pay $84 and the food is trash. Again, we won't be coming back to this location ever ever ever again as, this is the third time they have failed to deliver a quality pr. Update- 8/22 - Management reached out and corrected the situation. I moved it up to three stars because it took them a month to get back in contact. However, the manager was SUPER sweet and felt bad that this had happened. She explained how my information was given to the wrong location and that's why it took so long. They don't make their trifecta as seasoned or tasty as before. They've gone cheap with everything. I'm talking about the pound of shrimp I've ordered, literally tasted just like boiled with garlic. What happened to all the delicious taste I used to know? The steamed riced was super dry, comparable to half cook rice. They used to served a really good red potato salad and now it's like the one from the big tub of Costco potato salad!? I really wonder what happened.
