Angry Fries! My favorite with fries, chicken tenders, slaw, pickles a house sauce.
Danielle C.

Angry Chickz is one of those spots we keep coming back to. The value alone makes it worth it, the bowls are easily some of the best meals for the price, and they're super filling. My go-to is the Angry Fries bowl. It's loaded with seasoned fries, chopped chicken tenders (you pick your heat level), topped with slaw, pickles, and their house sauce. Everything comes together perfectly, crispy, creamy, tangy, and packed with flavor. They also give you an extra side of sauce, which is a plus. I usually go with medium heat, it has the perfect kick without being overpowering. The milder options don't really do it for me since they lack flavor. My husband loves the Angry Mac bowl, which is just as good. It combines mac and cheese with fries and chopped chicken tenders, so it's rich, comforting, and definitely hits the spot. This location has both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice depending on the vibe you're going for. It does get pretty busy and seems especially popular with younger crowds. Overall, if you're looking for a flavorful, satisfying meal that won't break the bank, Angry Chickz is a solid choice.

Slider ($7.25) - The seasoning tasted so similar to the one used for Cajun fries. I enjoyed it, but it could've used more heat for a Medium spice level. The other components were good but didn't blow me away.

Angry Fries

Amazing chicken! It's so juicy, the breading is perfectly crispy and the spice is subtle but flavorful. Joseph was super helpful and patient with me when I asked a bunch of questions, and he explained how every level of spice uses a different pepper. Angry fries were perfect since I wanted chicken, Cole slaw and pickles. I got the medium/habanero but next time I think I'll try the hot/ghost pepper.

Angry Chickz does not disappoint when it comes to their spice levels. I went out the other night with a group of friends and we ended the night with some fried chicken. I got the #3 combo and I got my sandwich with the Medium Heat and I got the other one as Spicy Level. The medium spice level has a great kick to it and flavorful. The hot was unbearable and didn't have any real flavor, it was just extremely spicy. I couldn't eat that piece of chicken cuz it was so spicy hot, but its good to know the flavors are accurate. I can only imagine how spicy the X-Hot and Angry are lol. I subbed out the fries for some mac and cheese (small upcharge) and it was pretty good too. The service was a little slow, I was in a group of 6 and they took three of our orders, made us wait for our food and then took three more of our orders, which led to the food coming out at different times. This is the third time ive come to an Angry Chickz and at this point its very mid, there's nothing crazy about their chicken.

We are in town for the weekend, from AZ, I've had a few hot chicken places as well as food truck events this place built far exceeded all of them! The chicken slider sandwich (extra sauce) was so juicy, tender, and the spice level was medium. Just enough burn and spice.. Mac was pretty bland but not bad Mac. Just when you have such flavorful delicious chicken it's far superior. Highly recommended

Good spot, I mean it's all frozen finger foods. Love the French fries with the crispy batter and the flavor of the medium heat chicken was delicious. Definitely won't be coming back because it didn't wow me but for what it is I give it a 4 stars. The girl who took my order was very nice and the restaurant itself was nice and clean. Prices match what you get and I wouldn't go too hot at first if you're sensitive.

So happy my daughter told me about this place. The staff is ALWAYS and I mean always so nice. Depending when you come, the line can be a bit long but the team is pretty quick to help to move the line along. Food is CONSISTENT in taste and portion which is such a big PLUS these days. You really can't go wrong with any of the menu items. We have tried the entire menu and always go back to the bowls or wraps. From the sauces, the fries and everything else...we crave this place all the time. We always get a double order of Sweet Potato fries cuz one is never enough. 01. Wraps - are tasty and always grilled perfectly for a nice crunch. 02. Bowls - are excellent and filling, all of the bowls even the Mushroom bowl is delicious. 03. Chicken - clean, juicy and tender and perfectly cooked. 04. Sides - always order the Sweet Potato Fries and Za'atar Fries and you MUST order the Garlic Toum (more mild than garlicky but still good). 05. Drinks - There is something for everyone, love their selections. If you have not tried this place yet, it's a sign you should. Even my pickiest non-healthy friends love this place. Great foods and reasonably priced.

There are plenty of seats outside with some shade, but only a handful of tables inside. It's in a plaza with various other shops, so parking is very accessible. Food didn't take too long, I think we got our food after 10 minutes or so of waiting. Honestly the presentation is solid. I got The Bowl Bowl, and my friends ordered the chicken wrap, Newport Bowl, and we shared Za'atar and sweet potato fries. The bowls came with a citrus sauce, but we had to order extra garlic and chili sauce on the side for the wrap and fries. The fries with sauce were honestly sooo good. The sweet potato fries had this amazing soft texture and it melted in your mouth, the sweetness paired nicely with the sharp garlic sauce. The Za'atar fries were well seasoned and had a nice crisp. They give you a good amount for the price! I personally enjoyed The Bowl Bowl, the quinoa mixed with fresh corn, big chunks of sweet potato (I think they would have been better cut smaller), avocado, their grilled chicken, and chips. I mixed it with the sauce and additional toum and thought it was a perfect post-workout bowl. Hefty, nutritious, and good for the cost ($15). I tried a bit of the Newport Bowl and it was basically a regular salad bowl, nothing special and in my opinion - not worth the price. You're better off trying a more varied bowl or wrap. The chicken wrap was fine, there were some pickled veggies that added a good crunch. The main reason why I'm hesitant to come here again (besides the fries) is that the chicken was quite dry in all of these dishes, and it didn't really have a prominent char or flavor/smell that would indicate it's been charcoal grilled. I do want to try this place again when it's not as busy, basically to see if the chicken quality holds up to other reviews.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!…read more Over the past few years, several new chicken restaurants have opened around Carlsbad, and I'm very grateful to Yelp for turning me on to this place. BHC Chicken is completely different from many of the others I've tried. Yes, they offer a variety of sauces and flavors, but what really impressed me was their classic fried chicken. I ordered the boneless thigh meal, and it was absolutely delectable. The batter was incredibly light, crispy, and crunchy without being overly hard or heavy, while the chicken inside remained tender and juicy. Best of all, it was thankfully NOT overly salty. The flavor was beautifully balanced and, quite simply, exquisite. I would recommend their fried chicken to any and every chicken aficionado. I also tried the spicy rosé stir-fried rice cakes, which were delicious. They had just the right amount of heat, enough to make them interesting and flavorful without leaving that lingering burn afterward. And then there were the sides! The potato wedges were perfection: nicely cooked outside and wonderfully moist and tender inside. The French fries were also really good. The Bburing cheese balls were DIVINE, delicately flavored, slightly addictive, and just ridiculously yummy. The apple coleslaw was fresh, crisp, and refreshing, and the Bburing chips were another winner. Even the complimentary pickled radish was excellent and paired beautifully with the fried chicken. There are certainly other nearby restaurants selling fried chicken, but for me, BHC Chicken is the clear winner. I am SO glad I discovered this place. Fantastic chicken, excellent sides, interesting Korean specialties, and flavors that don't have to rely on excessive salt to taste good. My new Carlsbad chicken champion!

The ranch side was kind of basic. The server was friendly and explained the menu well.

We started with some appetizers - my favorite was the crispy brussel sprouts and cauliflower. Everything was perfectly roasted and there was a great kick with the habanero jam feta. The fly basket was pretty good, but keep in mind that the portion size is small - 3 of each of the hush puppies, fried shrimp, and fried green tomatoes. My husband ordered one of the specials which was a short rib pot pie - one of our favorite dishes of the night. The short rib was so tender and the dish was rich but in the perfect way. I ordered the tri tip sando. It was loaded up with meat and grilled peppers and onions. I upgraded my fries to truffle fries and those were really flavorful! My mom ordered the cioppino. She was a little disappointed by how many mussels there were in the dish - she had been hoping for more fish and shrimp. She said the flavor was good though. For dessert, we did opt to try the beignets. Honestly I could have done without them. They weren't as light and fluffy as they could've been. Overall, it was a good experience with great accommodations for our toddlers and great service.

Goodness gracious. I can't remember the last time I didn't mind WAITING for food to be prepared…read morebecause I was just in awe watching the owner interact with his customers. Endeavor (yes, that's his name) reminded me of a New Orleans restauranter (his greeting felt like a hug/high five when someone walked in - whether he knew him/her or not). I had a team meeting nearby and one of the girls suggested this place for their Bentos. She said they had Taiwanese style pork chop and fried chicken rice. I assumed the Surf Up Chicken moniker was another Korean fried chicken establishment so I wasn't sure if the bentos were a pop up item for lunch. I didn't have time to look at the menu before arriving so was hoping there was no line. I thought they were located in a mall or food hall but no, they're almost in an industrial area. There's a gelato and acai place next to them. There's one row of parking right in front. You order at the cashier and they give you a buzzer when food is ready. Endeavor said they also make their Beef Noodle soup from scratch. So duh and yes please - add it to the 3 bentos (2 fried pork bentos and 1 fried chicken bento). There's also a self serve soda station (with water and soda water). Plus, a sauce bar ! I think I waited for about 15 min? Their food packaging is LEGIT. The beef noodle soup had the coolest separation (noodles on top while the soup/beef is below without noodles touching the broth). The bentos were also wonderful packaged (I think i'd have them label next time). The beef noodle soup was YUMMY. Can i get an amen from all those BNS lovers who appreciate tender cuts of beef with some fattier pieces too. The broth was soooo savory and lightly rich (i know, is that even possible but the broth wasn't too heavy or greasy). The pickled veggies were BOMB - we tasted garlic which was loved by all. The pork bento was expertly fried and stayed crispy enough even 30min later. It was seasoned perfectly (five spice yeah?). The minced pork was underneath it and delicious (it had the consistency of ground pork). Again, the pickled sour veggies in the bento just worked so well with the dish. The fried chicken was generous and very good! Usually I find Taiwanese fried chicken to be dry but the version here was tender and soooo flavorful. I didn't realize they had a UTC location before it closed :( I would have 100% gone there but will now have to find a reason to make the longer trek here to get their bentos and beef noodle soup. Keep up the amazing work Endeavor ! Your food & service made some hungry customers (us!) happy today. Thank you !

The burgers were phenomenal! The blue cheese was sooo good! The truffle burger was incredible! I thought the Better Mac would have been my favorite, and it was still good, but surprisingly, it wasn't my fave over the three. The chicken sandwiches are HUGE but I wished the tenders were tossed in the sauce/seasoning. They add the garlic parm on top of the tenders as they're assembled on top of the bun, so it doesn't completely coat the tender. IMO, it would be more flavorful tossed. However, the aioli sauces are just so delicious and to kill for! Even though this is also a smash burger leave, their burgers aren't thin and had a lot of bite to them!
