The Heights Honey *Z* Bee Project is an enterprise begun by Dalia Zelko (the Master Bee Keeper) partnered with Jamie Zelko, both of Zelko Bistro fame. (You can find the products there--they don't have a storefront of their own as of this writing.) The goal of this project is to have an Apiary that's maintained using all-natural and sustainable methods. The honey is phenomenal. Dark, rich, and golden, and intensely flavored. My latest purchase had a tag on it that indicated it was extracted from the hive 4 days prior. It is a great addition to the Heights, my land of milk and honey. Snap off or cut off the top if you find a little worm and remember that this is what you do in exchange for natural produce. *Watermelons are addictive. Scrumptious! *Cantaloupe: sugar-sweet. Grab it when they get it, otherwise you'll miss them because they sell fast! *Red potatoes are WAY better than what you'll get in the grocery store. These reds make hands-down the best mashed potatoes you will ever eat. *Tomatoes (either from their farm or other local farms): nothing like what you get in any grocery store. These ARE tomatoes. *Squash: zucchini, butternut, acorn, gold bar and others. The flavors explode in your mouth! *Eggplant: the regular or Japanese (when they have it) variety has the most distinct flavor whether you're making parmesan, grilling it or frying it. *Greens: kale and other greens. Super tender! *Cabbage: makes the best coleslaw you will ever eat. Stock up on local honey before the end of summer, too. Honey lasts forever, and they will be sold out come August. On Tuesday, I was looking for a local farmers market close to me I found this place. I read. The reviews and I was like wow good reviews I have to go. I honestly did not experience the ambiance I read in the reviews. I was a bit confused because they had a very select few of stuff they've grown and stuff was from other places. I spent like $15 bucks and I was so happy. The same day the carrot got these big knots on it and I didn't understand why then on Wednesday the entire carrots turned black as you can see the pictures. Not to mention the cabbage turned yellow. I don't know why this happened and I'm very disappointed, but I will not be returning to this market.

The staff was helpful and patient with all my questions which made it easier to make selections and make hurried choices. Bees had invaded a weep hole and built a hive inside our walls. The only way to access the hive,…read moresince the exterior is brick, was to go through the Sheetrock inside the house, remove it, the insulation, and access the hive. Now, this takes an expert, or your home will be the new beehive. Jennifer is very experienced. We did not want the bees killed but removed. If you just kill the bees, the hive and honey are still inside your walls. Next, the ants and cockroaches and other pests will invade your walls. Now, you have a new problem. Jennifer worked hard and long to vacuum out the bees, remove the hive, clean out the area. She gave us specific instructions on the next steps to follow. Her prices vary, depending on the hive location, the amount of time it takes her to do the job. We got some of the honeycomb and honey from the hive. We were very pleased with Jennifer's professionalism and kindness towards the bees. She's a bee whisperer!
