We filled both buckets with mostly ripe delicious strawberries. The kids still need to refine their picking skills. We then got snow cones, brisket and sausage. The kids played and had cotton candy. This was an extremely fun 3 hour activity. I was surprised to find so many delicious ripe strawberries this late in the season. In the end we spent a little over $100. The snow cones were super delicious- actual shaved ice. There are amazing photo ops and I took beautiful pictures of my kiddos. There are several fun pockets and experiences on this farm and it's very kid friendly. As a mom, I'm always having heart attacks because kids love to do crazy stuff, but here I felt very relaxed. Next time I would have them wear mud boots (our tennis are caked with mud). The strawberry fields weren't extremely muddy, but there were pockets of mud out there. We are eating the strawberries and my toddlers are thrilled and proud because they collected them. I just need to get a jam recipe to make this day last a few months. As soon as they open in the spring until closing at the end of August, I am here at least twice per week. There is nothing like the taste of locally grown, pesticide-free produce: *Corn is absolutely delicious. Worth the extra cost, and remember that these will not be picture-perfect ears because no pesticides are used. Snap off or cut off the top if you find a little worm and remember that this is what you do in exchange for natural produce. *Watermelons are addictive. Scrumptious! *Cantaloupe: sugar-sweet. Grab it when they get it, otherwise you'll miss them because they sell fast! *Red potatoes are WAY better than what you'll get in the grocery store. These reds make hands-down the best mashed potatoes you will ever eat. *Tomatoes (either from their farm or other local farms): nothing like what you get in any grocery store. These ARE tomatoes. *Squash: zucchini, butternut, acorn, gold bar and others. The flavors explode in your mouth! *Eggplant: the regular or Japanese (when they have it) variety has the most distinct flavor whether you're making parmesan, grilling it or frying it. *Greens: kale and other greens. Super tender! *Cabbage: makes the best coleslaw you will ever eat. Stock up on local honey before the end of summer, too. Honey lasts forever, and they will be sold out come August. On Tuesday, I was looking for a local farmers market close to me I found this place. I read. The reviews and I was like wow good reviews I have to go. I honestly did not experience the ambiance I read in the reviews. I was a bit confused because they had a very select few of stuff they've grown and stuff was from other places. I spent like $15 bucks and I was so happy. The same day the carrot got these big knots on it and I didn't understand why then on Wednesday the entire carrots turned black as you can see the pictures. Not to mention the cabbage turned yellow. I don't know why this happened and I'm very disappointed, but I will not be returning to this market.

Mr Freak (owner and a very friendly guy) and I hate that I don't have great, positive things to say about his meat but, I'm always honest with reviews (as I see it, eat it) He let me taste the boudin he had just prepared; umm no brother that's NOT boudin the way French people make it. It was a bit spicy but, it was just mushy w/a chunk of smoked meat (I think) was chicken but, I didn't ask. I tasted sliced smoked peppered turkey which was great. I tasted jalapeno cheese sausage - greasy-overcooked. I was embarrassed but buy anything because Mr Freak and his female employee were so nice, so I randomly picked 1 smoked boneless chicken breasts to go. $15 (huge) When I got home I broke it down to package for lunch and lawd it was dry as bone. What's the deal man; are you overcooking it OR has it been sitting under a lamp all day(s)? Mr Greak is from Rosharon TX and being a country guy he should know how to smoke meats by default, no? I should have bought the smoked turkey because the 3 other meats were a thumbs down. I can see why the freezers are full
