We booked deep tissue massages. My masseuse used way too much lotion, didn't apply any pressure and just aggressively rubbed oil onto my body. At one point, she intended to apply pressure to the arch of my feet (which are sensitive due to my plantar fasciitis) but her nails were not short so it felt more like being scratched. No one introduced themselves to us, they walked in while we were undressing without knocking or warning. During our massages, a bell kept going off. My masseuse walked out of the room 3 times, talking to someone about other clients. If I had been there alone, I would have walked out. This was the worst massage I've ever had. We will stick to VRC in Skokie. At least we receive quality massages.

Wow. Just wow…read more Immediately upon opening the doors i'm blessed with the soothing scents from their aromatherapy oils that are on shelves covering the wall. Right away as i opened the door, the kind lady rushed right away from the back and asked me right away, "Where is your pain?" I told her all my trouble spots and she told me exactly what i needed, a deep tissue massage. She then asked me if I had any allergies, and chose an oil for the treatment. As a person with many allergies and severe eczema-- she was asking all the right questions that I usually have to constantly remind masseuses about. You pay first, tip later, which is so smart and you pay for what you asked for right away and they won't randomly up charge you towards the end (which has happened to me all over the Glenview area) The massage was insane, in the best way. I'm so upset that despite living in this neighborhood for 21 years, i've never been to this massage spot. i always go to massages with my mom, aunt, and sister as our bonding. I've gotten massages in California numerous times, Philippines, Taiwan, and many more places. Also as we are healthcare workers, our physical pain so deep cut. But i'm genuinely shocked and how well my body feels after the massage. After working 12 hour shifts for days on end-- THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED. When my massage started she right away went into my trouble spots which was my neck and shoulders, i could already feel her target my knot on the first touch, and i was shocked at how quickly she released the tension. She masterfully uses her elbows and joint areas to target the knots and tension in between my scapula and my sternocleidomastoid and sternothyroid muscle. 20 minutes in she told me "you need cupping, it's good for you" I know better and so i just shut up agreed to what she said and said, "Yes ma'am." And wow. It was my first time cupping so honestly i was scared but she is so skillful that it didn't hurt at all. It felt like she was hitting the pressure point to release the tension in that area, and 3.5 years of pain from laborious work was fixed in a one hour session. She kept going and massaging me, asking me if my pain was gone and only stopped when my pain was gone. Amazing, mind blown, go here. I really want to gate keep this place to myself but wow. One of the best massages I've had in my whole life.

We were luckily able to get an appointment for last Saturday. We weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Both of us said this was the best couples massage that we ever had. I think one of the reviews mentioned some thing about it being loud. I do recall hearing a truck or something behind them in the alley. It was not something that really had my attention. We already scheduled another massage in a few weeks. Highly recommend.

I have seen her dozens of times over the last several years and the consistency of the massage she provides never wavers. I walk out after a 90-minute massage totally relaxed and rejuvenated. I am reasonably active playing hockey and pickleball regularly and Sergelen is able to work out any muscle fatigue or soreness in feet, calves, back and shoulders. It is rare that I don't fall asleep at some point -- that is how relaxing this wonderful experience is! I can't recommend Sergelen strongly enough -- I just hope she isn't so busy that I have a hard time getting an appointment!

A massage is supposed to relax you all the mean while pulling and strengthening your muscles. I had…read morea very uncomfortable time here unfortunately. 1. My husband gave me a Groupon to visit Lucky Spa. Upon arriving, the manager at the front desk didn't understand that it's paid off. I told him to input my voucher code but unfortunately there was a Groupon error. I told him I would wait and in return he tells me to call Groupon and tell them to fix it. Yeah okay?! It eventually worked and I was hurried inside. He was pissed at me. 2. Okay.. there are 6 beds in this room. No sense of privacy. At least pull the makeshift curtains. Not very fancy or spa like. 3. Too many distractions. You hear the loud chatter between the staff, the bell at the front door constantly going off, and the patrons who also weren't sure what was happening. 4. Upon my massage (which was 5/10) completing. I waited up front for the manager to charge my card for tip.. he came out there all upset and talking loudly asking what I need.. and after I told him "tip" his face lightened up. I'm all for trying new places but if you have a Groupon deal going on.. please be courteous as everyone coming in after 5pm is heading back from work and are tired. Btw, I am bilingual myself.. but at work I remain professional and talk in a way where everyone can understand.

Pressure was not the best, for me wasn't a big deal but for my partner she wanted a lot more pressure which they weren't able to sustain (after asking her whether to increase the pressure or not). I think one thing that could make the experience better is if the masseuses slowed down a bit, focused more on providing deeper pressure and trying to pinpoint/find the knots in our body. Although I got a 90-minute couples massage it felt like segments were rushed and I never quite felt like I got into that relaxed mode. It pains me to say since the staff were all so friendly, but at the price point ($174.49 before tip) it may be a little while until I return :(..
