My boyfriend and I were looking for a couples massage and we found 224 Massage. His back was bothering him so I needed to find us a Massage as soon as possible. We were luckily able to get an appointment for last Saturday. We weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Both of us said this was the best couples massage that we ever had. The location is in a strip mall next to Home Depot. We kind of got Turned around looking for it. Extremely clean facility and great masseuse techniques. I think one of the reviews mentioned some thing about it being loud. I do recall hearing a truck or something behind them in the alley. It was not something that really had my attention. NOT worth the price. Did a couples massage Imo, worst massage and did not an earn a tip what so ever. Walls are paper thin and can hear the massage next door. The only thing that I appreciated was the hot stones but unfortunately that's an extra $10 with an extra $10 for lotion. This was not a relaxing experience. Masseuse often used only one hand. I was cold the whole time (you should be comfortably warm during a massage); there was a bottom sheet, but a towel instead of a sheet on the top and the masseuse kept leaving the room to answer the door which took away from my time. Waste of money; first time I have ever not tipped someone. Will never go back. read more

I went in for a 90 minute deep tissue massage last weekend. The person only duid deep tissue for the first 20 minutes and the she did just a regular massage for the rest of the time. The were also people talking and laughing loudly in the next room. A massage is supposed to be relaxing and zen, but instead there were some rude, selfish, and ignorant people in the next room talking and laughing throughout my entire massage. The massage therapist didn't do anything about it. I told them about what happened last weekend and they said that all they can offer me is $10 off of my next massage and I don't want that. I want a free 90 minute deep tissue massage due to the fact that my whole massage was ruined by rude and ignorant people. They won't do that for me. I will never go back to this 224 massage or any 224 massage ever again. read more

My girl friend and I have been to 224 several times for a couples massage. The experience was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Went this morning in horrible pain and I really enjoyed the 90 minute combo Swedish massage. She really worked on my knots on shoulder and neck. The lavender essential oil add to it was everything to relax me. I was super tensed and in pain because of stress but the massage I felt much much better. Disappointed would be an understatement. First, they don't have a receptionist so every time someone walks through the front door, the massage gets interrupted because they have to go answer the door, wasting massage time and not relaxing at all. They should hire a receptionist and that would fix the problems. The next issue was that the massage therapist was definitely not licensed as a massage therapist because she did not know what she was doing, using very little pressure even though I asked for deep tissue. When you think it can't get even worse it does. She uses one hand to do light massage and the other hand to play on her phone. The massage experience was a total rip-off. Not worth anything close to 75$. In the end, they charged me an extra 3$ just for using a credit card and didn't tell me until I saw $78$ on my receipt and asked them about it. They also wanted a tip... When I told them that I was not satisfied with a massage therapist leaving the room to answer the front door and playing on her phone while doing the massage with one hand, she got mad and started yelling. Another thing I forgot to mention was that during the massage the lady left the door open so she could hear if any customers came into the spa, so she could go talk to them. I tried this place for first time this weekend because I needed a massage and wanted to try someplace different. Since the reviews were great, I am GLAD I went. Everybody was extremely polite, the massage was in a room which I prefer and on the table versus feet in water. Was in a last minute scramble to find a place to take me same day since I had strained my back & they were the only place in the palatine area that could take me so soon (outside of a massage envy). The first thing I noticed was that the sheet on the table looked stained with sweat which was a little gross. The doorbell also goes off frequently (might I recommend a receptionist) & the ladies talk to each other through the walls so not the most relaxing thing. The lady I had was really sweet but seemed like she didn't want to hurt me despite me asking her to add pressure. When I was paying, she sort of gave me a look when I told her how much tip to add on my card as if I wasn't adding enough (I tipped 20% anyway). IMO, not worth what I paid. read more
