224 massage is a new massage therapy spa in Palatine. I get massages every week, since I go the gym everyday and I'm on my feet 8 hours a day for work. Alice was my MT and she was very professional and sweet. This spa is very professional, clean, and has a relaxing atmosphere. Alice did a wonderful job! My muscles feel great! I went for a massage for my neck pain. The masseuse really knew her technique. After 1 hour my neck felt the best it has in years. She told me my back was really tight the muscles and that was causing the issues. I will be back next week to continue massage therapy. I go to the chiropractor every month, but my back still aches, so my chiropractor actually recommended getting massages. I had the combo massage for an hour at $80 & it felt way longer than an hour! Assumed this was half Thai & regular massage, which was great because last Thai massage I had elsewhere was SO PAINFUL. She started by standing on my back and dug her toes in & cracked my back in 4 different places! That's when I knew it was gonna be good! She cracked me in places I didn't even know could be cracked! She asked if I liked it hard in the beginning, so if you don't like it hard just let her know. I like it hard and this was almost perfect.. Thai massages I just assume are slightly more "hard" so I expected it to be, but wasn't overbearing. I must've had a tight right shoulder because she was massaging that area a lot & was relentless until it loosened up. She does full body front & back. She even cracked my neck & sides like my chiropractor does. It was an overall great massage. I actually plan on making this my massage place now. Will be coming back every other month for this massage! Heads up, she does answer the phone during massages which ruined the "zen" but didn't bother me as much. Also felt bad because the person on the phone couldn't understand her thick accent. She was like yelling "see you at 6 pm!" I assume she looses some clients over this.. If you have a bad back, I think Thai massages is the only thing that works. I spent around $130 for a Himalayan rock massage at another place & it was terrible. They just rubbed the rock on my body for an hour & did not touch me once! So hole in the wall Asian places is much better than the boujee massage parlors I been to.

The different masseuses have their own style but they adjust to whatever your preferences are. I've found that Swedish massages are a bit too light handed but the Asian style or deep tissue massages are too rough so I opt for something in between, and they are awesome at it! They know where my knottiest spots are and always work those areas more. The rooms and chairs are always clean and towels are fresh. Prices are fair and they offer 60 or 90 min sessions. There is a price difference between the Swedish and Deep Tissue but I don't remember off the top of my head. Pros: Awesome massages, great price, simplicity, cleanliness Cons: No website! Yargh!
