This is different from your ordinary massage places. Here, they use Acupressure and Reflexology. That means they may use their elbows and sometimes even knees to dig deep. For the most part they don't take your clothes off and use a bunch of oils. They typically cover you with a sheet and use very little oils if any. About a week ago I slipped a rib out of place while wearing a corset at a costume party. Beauty is dangerous and painful. I've been using a heating pad and lots of Advil for my rib pain drowning my sorrows in Miller Lite and Sons of Anarchy episodes on Netflix but I digress. I set out to do two things today return a coat to Eddie Bauer and get a kick ass massage. I did both and the massage was truly a mind blowing experience. My masseuse 5'4", 100 lbs soaking wet started out slow and I thought I'd have to ask for someone tougher. About 5 minutes after her warm up she mounted the table and I realized she had one foot planted on my right hip and the other foot on my left shoulder. I've had massages at Oriental Chi before but this woman was part Spider Man and Wonder Woman in one. After an hour of being elbowed along the spine, kneed in both of my thighs while she practically sat on me I was relaxed and totally pain free. I want to see this woman next week. I have no idea what her name is but WOW! My back feels fantastic, my rib pain is a distance memory and I can put my heating pad away. Oriental Chi is an awesome massage experience and you don't pay for fluff. You pay for 60 minutes of deep tissue massage for $56. My massage was so good I tipped the lady $24. I had a very concerning experience at one of your stores inside your location called Oriental Chi. Now, I understand this is not a massage place in the usual sense, it is a acupressure place, so I am aware they will be a little rougher than a place like Massage Envy. What I was not prepared for was for my husband and I to literally be assaulted by these people. My husband and myself both got a massage on Friday 3/5/2021 and have not been able to even get out of bed until today meaning we missed work because we were in so mu h pain and could not move. My husband got such a headache upon sitting up when there were finished on Friday that I almost took him to the hospital. It turns out that this sudden immense headache was caused by the violent amount of pressure and digging they did that it released a burst of toxins. We have had Swedish massages, Deep tissue massages, and everything in between so I was blown away and surprised to be in so much pain that I asked them to stop multiple times and go easier. I was on the verge of tears but could not cry because there were a few points where they put so much of their weight on me that I couldn't even breathe and almost passed out. Giving birth to my son wasn't even this painful. Now to address the scam that they pulled...They approached me and asked me if I wanted 15 more minutes which I most certainly did not and told them I did not want any more time as I was in pain. They said to hold on. Unsure of what they didn't understand, I waited, and they came back and said, "your husband is doing 5 more minutes and he said for you to do it to because he's paying" I let them know I really didn't want to and they said, "just do it since he's doing it". Hesitant I agreed and reminded them to please tone it down and be gentler. Upon my husband and I getting to the car after he asked me why I asked for more time since we were both in so much pain and I informed him they told me HE asked for more time and then pushed me into it after I said no TWICE. I thought my husband was going to lose his mind. Turns out they told him "Your wife wants more time and will pay for both of you so just do more time with her". NEITHER of us wanted more time and we were both lied to and pushed into it. This is unacceptable on all levels. for $58 a piece we could of gotten a much softer and nicer PROFESSIONAL massage at a reputable spa. I am a member of Massage Envy and her chair massage is better than some of the massages I paid $65.00 for. I took a 10 minute session and it was so good, I took another 10 minutes. Last week my neck and arm began aching so badly that I thought I may have to go to the Urgent Care which really sucks since I am one of those Americans without healthcare that Mitt Romney didn't care about helping... the slacker working 50 hours a week and sometimes more. Seeking a last ditch effort for help before spending hundreds of dollars for a chiropractor or Urgent Care Doc I wandered into Oriental Chi (well hidden in the Woodfiled Mall near U kids Island and Stir Crazy). My fiancé's recommendation was to try them out. She made a great call! The very polite Chinese looking fellow named "Juan" (yeah I know but he insisted) did help me a lot! After a 30 minute rub down on his table my arm felt much better by the next day the pain I was experiencing was 70% gone. When I came in to Oriental Chi I was in constant pain. These guys really helped me and it was well worth the price! Much more affordable than what some of the local fitness centers are charging and much better too - I tried Lifetime fitness' once... they sucked! ... I will be going back to Oriental Chi next weekend for a follow-up message which runs about $60.00 plus tip for an hour. 30 minutes is $35 and is well worth every penny! I am always a bit skeptical of massage parlors found in a mall but I was pleasantly surprised with Oriental Chi. The sales pitch in the beginning was a tad overwhelming - employees hand flyers out and ask almost every customer that walks by if they'd like a massage. After deciding we wanted an hour long full body massage we were brought back into very private, quiet, and peaceful rooms. The overall massage was great and the place was very clean. I'll start by saying walk into the mall's lower level entrance between Sears and Macy's by Level 257. I've stopped in for chair massages for both 20 and 30 minute sessions over a dozen times and think they are truly as good as it gets. I'm on a laptop for 10 hours daily and feel like Quasimodo some days! I stop in, never wait for more than a few minutes, get worked by expert therapists, feel like a million bucks a short time later, all for reasonable rates. Can't say enough nice things. Absolutely horrible! If you have been spoiled by luxury massage spas, then you will be severely disappointed, as I was! The rooms are open air, meaning all noises travel in. The oriental music inside was competing with the pop songs playing in the mall; I don't believe the person working on me was professionally trained in any manner.. He used some dry oil on my body parts that were exposed; you don't even take your clothes off so the effectiveness of the "massage" is null and void. The guy was rough and he was holding a conversation (in Chinese) with someone walking past the room.. Totally rude and annoying!!! Will never, ever do this again. My husband and I came here after having had a great experience at another Oriental Chi. We each got an hour massage--he did 60 min table, I did 30 chair + 30 foot. While I was waiting I saw a man giving a massage that looked awesome, so I was looking forward to mine. Unfortunately, the woman who did mine was awful--pressure was way too light, pace very slow, and she would only use the back of her arm to massage--no hands/thumbs/fingers!! I found that very odd. I had a lot of tightness/knots that I needed worked out and I had to stop her several times to ask her to press harder and use her thumbs in certain sore areas on my back. I just didn't understand why her technique was so awful--it was like a glorified (kind of) back rub. Another woman had to come over to give her a lesson. My foot massage was not much better. My husband said his was just ok--they kept massaging the bones. We will not be returning. read more

Good service in reasonable price. I have a lower back degenerated disc problem and sometime with stiff muscles for long hours of sitting, I get severe pain. I used the "shaitsu" massage in California and it was a great healer to manage the condition. I looked around for such massage center around here in Buffalo Grove and found this on Yelp. I tried it today and although not as happy as I was in California but found it useful. The technique is definitely not shaitsu but whatever it is it helps in opening the knots and make muscle relaxed. Remember that it is not for one luxury type massage and be ready to feel some pain after massage but that's for greater good. Overall happy with it and will come back again. Excellent, perfect pressure, very courteous, relaxing environment despite being across the street from a food stand with a guy that repeats, "Free Samples!". But it wasn't that big of a deal at all, I was in a pleasure trance nearly the whole time. It was clean, professional, and the masseuses (or whatever you wanna call them) knew exactly what they were doing. Pressed exactly where they could, better than a chiropractor. $60 ish for the full body massage, they do your back, shoulders, legs, feet, but getting a massage on your arms and hands and a facial massage is separate.
