Monica's was amazing! I called about 20 minutes before coming in, and they were able to fit me in. I was in drumline for 4 years, which put a lot of strain carrying 35 pound drum on my shoulders and back, and I have a large chest which also puts strain in those areas, so needless to say I definitely need massages, and I need them to be deep. This is exactly what I got. There actually was a student there, so both her and the masseuse both worked their magic on me. It was the most intense massage I've ever had (not for wimps!) but that's because I asked for it, and I needed it. I felt amazing after. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the masseuse got there almost 15 minutes late (I know I scheduled my appt last minute, but if she couldn't make it then I could have just scheduled it for 4:15 instead of rushing there just to wait) and it was over 15 minutes of me laying there with a heating pad on my back before anyone came in. This got frustrating after a while because I could hear everyone talking up front so it wasn't peaceful, I didn't know it would be this long of an ordeal (I assumed maybe 5 minutes max of this would happen to warm my muscles up) and I have a heating pad at home if I want 15+ minutes of sitting with it on. I have been having chronic headaches for the past week and Advil wasn't doing the trick. I would wake in the night with screaming head pains. I knew my neck was tight and I hoped a massage would help loosen things. Knowing that I didn't want to go to a normal spa for a simple relaxation massage, I found Monica's Massage online and thought I'd give it a shot. I booked a 90 minute massage, assuming that the length would help. I told her my issues and headache problems and she told me that I should do a deep tissue massage and she went to work on me. The massage was deep, intense, and loosened me up amazingly. I had NO idea that I had knots in places on my upper back and shoulders. She told me that 90 minutes would be too long for this type of massage and we only did 50 minutes. It was *perfect.* The night of the massage I felt better than I had in weeks and was able to sleep through the night without waking with head pain. I plan to return to loosen up the rest of the knots and keep me in tip top shape. (Update October 2014) I have been headache free for months, and cannot recommend Monica's massage highly enough. Very down to Earth establishment. I was in severe pain from driving and working long hours and I called and hour before close. Most people would tell me to wait til the next day but she had a heart and let me come in by 8:30pm and allowed me the luxury of being there for an hour and half. I would not recommend this place at all. I showed up and the door was locked and I had to ring a bell. I had scheduled my appointment two weeks in advance for a pregnancy massage. The owner told me on the phone that I just needed a doctor's note. My husband had also called and verified that I could get the pregnancy massage because it was a birthday present from him. I had even confirmed my appointment the day before with the same lady who took my appointment. When I arrived today for my appointment she was surprised that I was pregnant and told me they didn't do pregnancy massage. After explaining to her that I told her that when I made the appointment she told me they changed their policy and would not be doing my massage. Instead she offered me chocolate. I was very disappointed and frustrated because I could have made my appointment somewhere else had I known. Beware of this place!!! read more

Only had one massage here so far but after having received tons of massages from different masseuses in the northwest suburbs area, I've finally settled on Monica's massage. First session she walked in on the masseuse and worked on my neck with ample pressure until I actually experienced relief. She responds to feedback and WORKS WITH YOU to relieve your pain. Most other masseuses just go through the standard massage process; not Monica, if you communicate effectively with her, she will help you get relief. Monica's Massage is the best deep tissue massage i have ever experience. I had gone there twice in pain and both time she did a great job. The first time i went i could not walk. She massage every muscle in the area and around and fixed me up. It was a deep tissue massage. If you ever get a massage at Monica's it will hurt but at the end you will be able to move and the pain will go away. When i go to Monica's massage i trust that i will get result and i can go on with a my normal daily routines. she will also teach some exercise movement that will help you improve your condition. Worst place ever. Came here to get a couples massage and it was shady from the start. You have to ring a door bell just to get in. The room we were put into was small like a hallway. The lights were left on full bright. We never got introduced to the "therapists". The two who came in just started massaging my boyfriend and I thank goodness for only a few short min. It was the worst massage ever. The lady who was doing mine had to leave the room since someone else showed up. They started talking to her and she got defensive. My boyfriend and I got dressed and walked out to the police being there. They say they accept insurance but when i tried to contact the doctor monica uses for her business he would not see me because i have a high deductible and he couldn't bill out my insurance company right away. I thought this was extremely unprofessional!!! Actually i think its very shifty.. The doctor wont take my business unless he can only bill my insurance? I offered to pay cash for my services but he didnt care. Does he want to only bilk my insurance for higher bills?? Wow, I was impressed! I had a trampoline accident 4 years ago which causes daily strain to my neck and shoulders and work 10 hours at a computer during the week. I came here for a couple's massage with my boyfriend for our anniversary. When we arrived I was immediately disappointed to see tips were cash only, which was not communicated to me up front. I had to go to the liquor store below and take an ATM fee to get cash out. Second, the room for the couple's massage was more like a hallway where we layed feet to feet, which isn't really the point. The room itself was chilly and too bright. The worst part was when the massage finally started the two masseurs talked/laughed for at least 15-20 min in a foreign language. They also left the door to our room open the entire time. Even though it was on a Sunday and by appt only, anyone could have walked in at any point. I didn't realize it was open until the end or I would have said something. While the massage itself was actually fairly good (if you are interested in deep pressure) the entire ambiance was ruined by the talking and bright lights. I would NOT go back again. read more
